Overall this was an excellent property with plenty of room, privacy, and parking. Deer spotting throughout the day and good stargazing at night. We rented this house as a base for Distillery Trail Weekend (Aug 8-11, 2024). Our party consisted of 7 adults, 2 cars.
Bedrooms were clean and spare. I used my rolling luggage as a nightstand and my phone flashlight to get around in the dark. Our bed was uncomfortable, and it felt like we were in danger of rolling off all night. Serviceable, but room for improvement.
The bathrooms were clean and well appointed with plenty of towels. En suite is larger and more handicap accessible than the other 2.
The kitchen is huge with plenty of counter space. The stove functions well, the vent functions ok. The oven is slow, use the fan + light to help get it lit. No crock pot present, but there is a kitchenaid 6qt stand mixer. If you are a cook, bring your knife kit and specialty items, maybe a good egg pan. No measuring spoons found. Could use more silverware and serving utensils. Full size fridge & freezer were great.
Sunroom was unusable; too hot and a strong plastic smell, maybe better in winter. The pool was perfect; very clean and great for hot days and warm nights. Plenty of towels and outdoor seating. 1 intertube. We couldn't find controls for outdoor lights, and couldn't add water.
Close to town and highways, Trader Joe's 10 minutes south in Templeton, Target too. 40 minutes to SLO costco. Would definitely rent this one again.

The house was set up well for our party of 8. The layout of kitchen and dinning room is spacious and easy to maneuver around in. The kitchen was well stocked for a rental which was a nice surprise since we all love to cook.
The bedrooms are spacious but my suggestion would be to have some place to put your clothes. A small dresser or cubby in 3 of the 4 rooms is necessary or a lot more hangers. Also, the ice maker didn't work which was slightly inconvenient.
Overall this is a great property and the check in and check out process was easy and efficient.

Lots of space. The house was spotless, clean. We loved the pool, although the weather only cooperated for 1 day. Merry Hill is a perfect location, easy on off to 101, but also close to town.

We go to Paso Robles every year for a Wildland firefighter fundraiser. This year we booked this house and had a wonderful stay.
The kitchen was big and allowed us to cook home made meals to have dinner with the family.
The rooms were big and had comfortable pillows. Easy access to the pool with a gate around it, which gave us a feel for security for the kids to stay out of it. Overall it was a great house.

Nice big kitchen and plenty of room to hang out and socialize. Walking distance to downtown Paso but a little hill to tackle on the way back home. Would definitely stay again.

I stayed here with my husband and a few friends for a weekend and our only regret was that we didn't stay longer. The property is very spacious with so many different common areas and a lot of outdoor space. The hot tub was such a treat as the evenings and mornings were a bit chilly. We appreciated that the house was walking distance to downtown but still very quiet at night. The house had everything we needed (toiletries, plenty of bath & pool towels, Keurig, kitchen supplies, etc.). Check-in was very easy and appreciated the call from the property managers prior to our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. We would absolutely stay here again!

We had some issues with the rental company prior to checking in, but I won’t use that against this review. Sandy tried her very best to fix their mistakes. So yes, this is a beautiful house. The kitchen is absolutely stunning. The photos don’t do it justice. The house is “walkable”. It’s 20 minutes into town with a hill. Ladies - not fun in heels - you may want to plan Ubers/Lyfts. Half our group was fine with the walk and the other half opted for a ride. The hot tub was warm, not hot. We could not get it higher than 93. Which is like a bath temp, not a hot tub temp. I think there might be a governor on it. We are a capable group and moved the temperature higher, but it never got higher than 93. We used it the last night we were there, so didn’t bother calling the rental company - so you might want to check this before you plan to use it so it can be addressed and not put a damper on your stay. The house was spotless. Very clean. The neighbors are quiet aside from the chickens from time to time. The sun room has a funky smell to it. We did not use it. Check in and out was easy! I’m sure a summer time stay would be lovely here. The decks and pool look like a lot of fun.

This house is conveniently located - about a mile walk to downtown. There is plenty of parking and each of the common rooms has plenty of seating for a large group. Four bedrooms (2Q & 2K) accommodated our group of 8 comfortably. Two small downsides - two of the bathrooms don't any counter space for toiletries and there was not a table/lamp next to each side of the bed.
(Each room was different - some had one bedside table, some had a bedside lamp.)
The kitchen has a large freezer/refrigerator and was well-equipped. The only thing we found lacking were drinking/wine glasses suitable for outdoor use, so you will want to bring your own. The property does have wildlife, specifically deer.
We did have a few small issues during our visit and the property manager was easy to contact and responsive. Overall, we enjoyed the property - it was clean, comfortable and easy to check-in/out and work with property manager.

Great property, very accurate to the listing. Beautiful pool, spacious rooms, chef’s kitchen and minutes from vineyards and the downtown area with shops and restaurants. We paid extra to heat the pool which was well worth it. Will plan to stay here again.

This was the cleanest rental i've stayed in. Linens smelled nice and fresh, towels were free of spots and well maintained, and the kitchen was immaculate. The whole house was lovely to use and the outdoor is amazing! Plenty of space to lounge and relax. We made wonderful meals in the kitchen which had all essential cooking tools. If you are looking for a nice quiet getaway or a family retreat, this is your place. Best part is you feel far enough from town to have quiet and close enough that it only takes a matter of minutes to get to downtown. Worth the stay!

This time it was my turn. I chose the Merry Hill house because it had all the amenities and space we needed. This property was private yet it was close to shops and restaurants and many beautiful golf courses. The host was friendly and easy to work with. We would definitely choose this property if we ever go back to Paso Robles again.

The Merry Hill property was fabulous for our girls trip. Home is lovely, clean and location is perfect - close to downtown Paso Robles and so many wineries. Our stay was fabulous! The house is well set up and comfortable. There are plenty of supplies and dishes and activities. The property management company had signature touches everywhere that made it feel cared for. We were extremely impressed with the management company who found us this gem of a property's when a day-of emergency made the house we originally booked inaccessible. We enjoyed the spa and pool (even in the 60 degree weather) any more the large spaces inside to gather! The multiple bathrooms and extra living rooms spaces were wonderful for gatherings. The neighborhood is very quiet and comfortable. We enjoyed watching the antics of the neighbors' chickens while relaxing in the hot tub. Comfortable beds and luxury linens made for a wonderful night's sleep. All around this stay made what was a difficult weekend for us into a wonderful memory making event that we will cherish! Thank you for your thoughtful hospitality!

Such a beautiful home with so many amenities! We were three couples, and had more than enough room. The kitchen is stocked with every amenity and cooking appliance. You could possibly need. The beds were very very comfortable distance to the wineries was great, and you could even walk to downtown Those and walk uphill might not be for everyone. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We loved our stay over the new year's holiday. This was a perfect home for three families with small kids. Tons of towels, all the bathroom amenities you need, and a fully stocked kitchen with every appliance and tool you could ask for. The fridge, stove, and oven were top notch. Plenty of outdoor space, great pool and hot tub, and an awesome location close to downtown paso robles. We paid an extra fee to have the pool heated (max temp is 85) and it was too cold for the adults to swim in, but our kids enjoyed plunging in when they wanted a break from the hot tub. We'd love to come back during warmer months to fully enjoy the outdoor space. One thing that we noticed was the covered patio area (attached to the master bedroom) was missing a sliding door, so rain water came through the screen door. Would have been nice to use that space if it had stayed dry, but it wasn't a huge deal. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Love how they have both a coffee maker and Keurig options with pods and creamers provided. Had a huge buck (and other deer) visit us one night as well. The house was in a great location, just out of town so it was quiet and deer were in the yard every day/evening, yet less than a mile from town so walkable or quick ride into town. House was large and very nicely appointed. However, recommend property owner perform some maintenance and upgrades, including new cushions for outdoor furniture, and some kitchen utensils and cookware is in need of replacement. Hot tub needs some refurbishment and water kept at appropriate levels, and pool heater was not working during stay. But overall it was a great place to stay and highly recommended.

We had a great time in Paso and a great experience in the Merry Hill house! The kitchen is great though maybe in need of some new pans/utensils (lots of metal utensils have clearly been used on non-stick pans, etc.) but still had what we needed; grill worked well too. We paid for pool heating which was a bit pricey but definitely worth it. We would definitely rent again for a family visit!
