We arrived at 6:30pm on our check in day and unfortunately the condo had not been cleaned yet. There were dirty towels in the bathtub, dirty linens on the bed, poop stains in the toilet and empty pop cans on the counter. I was able to get in touch with the owner and he was able to send down a cleaner within 30 minutes or so, which was reasonable. He was also apologetic. After travelling 14 hours with two young children, we were tired and this was just a crappy situation. Also, when we tried do a load of laundry, the washer immediately quit and there was a burning smell coming from what I assume was the motor. I messaged the owner about that as well, but never heard back. However, the location is great! Walkable to Tofino and beautiful view of the inlet ... but we will not stay here again.

We had a lovely stay at Jan's place at Eik Landing in Tofino. The view from the unit is great, it is well equipped and clean. We would come back in a heart beat!

The place was exactly as advertised. The hosts actually allowed us to change our dates, which was very much appreciated. Conveniently located, clean and comfortable. I would stay again.

We stayed at the place for 4 night. We had great time in Tofino. The balcony view was amazing. One day we where able to see seals right from the balcony early in the morning. The host have ft the binoculars in the apartment that where a nice touch and we used them quite often. The apartment had everything we needed. We where a bit short on towels for the 5 of us (with the baby) but we had brought some of our own. Overall I would recommend and stay there again.

The apartment was well equipped, comfortable and very convenient for easy access to walk into Tofino and the road network. The balcony was a great place to sit out with an amazing view across the water to watch wildlife, the marina and passing boats. We would definitely recommend and stay again

The location and layout of the unit were great. I appreciated Jan's quick replies to my questions before the trip. The location was a 5 minute walk into town and the layout of the unit was great for our group of 4 friends. The view of the inlet was also lovely, despite very gray weather. The BBQ worked well. The unit includes lots of books and games to borrow though we did not use them as we brought our own. We saw a small pod of orcas, and seals! And lots of birds. Unfortunately, I feel the unit fell short of the "luxury" that it includes in its name. At check in, the door code lock did not work. After a loooong drive in from Vancouver, this was a huge let down. Jan picked up the phone immediately and someone was on site in around 10 minutes to change out the battery on the lock and let us in. However, the biggest disappointment for me was the cleanliness of the unit. I found dust, dirt, and mildew/mold on the edges of the bathtub and sinks. The bathtub drained extremely slowly. Worst of all though, there were two used towels left hanging on the hooks behind the bathroom door. That made me feel very uncomfortable and like I really could not trust the cleanliness of the unit. For future visitors: bring your own shampoo, potentially extra toilet paper, salt, pepper, oil, creamer. The coffee provided was good.

This was our third year staying at Elk Lodge over New Years in Tofino. Every time, our experience has been the the same: the unit is spacious, very comfortably and attractively furnished and appointed, and the kitchen has a very functional layout and is well equipped. To boot, it’s in a lovely location looking out on Clayoquot Sound and it’s ever changing landscape as the weather goes through its typically abrupt changes. Also, the townsite is just a short walk away. Anytime we’ve had to call Jan (eg. couldn’t figure out the lock) he has been immediately responsive and helpful and pleasant. We highly recommend Elk Lodge as the place to stay in Tofino.

The property wasn’t cleaned when we arrived so it wasn’t a great start which seemed like a miscommunication. The owner was quick to respond to the cleaning issue and from that point on we really enjoyed the property!

We've stayed at Eik Landing a number of times in the past and have been very happy with it. This time, however, I was a little disappointed at the lack of cleanliness. The bath towels smelled as though they'd sat in the washing machine for too long after being washed before they were put in the dryer; there were make-up stains on one of the face cloths; there was mold along the base of the shower curtain which also smelled; there were stains on the ottoman in the living room; and there were dirt smudges and marks on several of the walls that could easily be cleaned. As well, the batteries were dead for the fairy lights on the driftwood on the fireplace mantle and we couldn't find any new batteries in the place (I bought more and replaced them) there were no tea light candles for the candle holders; and the lamp in the far right corner of the place (to the right of the fireplace) wasn't working. The location is great, the view, fantastic, and being so close to the amenities in town is wonderful, but the lack of cleanliness was disappointing.

This is a very spacious property it’s very comfortable and close to the city for walks as well as the trail if you’re going either way. The kitchen was great because it had plenty of room and equipment for us to make dinner for our son who lives in the city. We really enjoyed the stay here. We plan to go back in the future.

The property was everything and more. Location was excellent, could walk into town and to the many restaurants if you don’t feel like cooking. But if you do feel like staying in and cooking the unit had everything you’ll need. Not to far from many must see attractions. We enjoyed our time there and it was a great place to unwind.

A great condo to stay very close to downtown Tofino. It was very clean and comfortable, easy to access, all exactly as advertised. The inner harbour is so interesting!! The view from the deck is spectacular. A short walk into town or drive to all the beaches. We’ve been going to Tofino many years and usually stay right in the beaches, but in the past several years the prices have been out of our reach. This condo is perfect for our budget, and I’ve now discovered the beauty of the harbour here! Highly recommend!

Fantastic stay. Would highly recommend. Clean and spacious. Well stocked. Right in the middle of Tofino and within walking distance to almost everything. Just note that it is on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator.

We arrived to a condo which had not been cleaned. Luckily we had the owner’s phone number. He had the cleaner there quickly and we waited for about an hour on the deck while the unit was cleaned. Not a great start. Owner said he would refund cleaning fee, but (so far) that hasn’t happened. Fireplace did not work. Only 2 red, 2 white wine glasses. No waste basket in main bathroom. No drying rack for dishes. We have stayed in several units in Eik Landing and this one was poorly appointed in comparison to others. Room with bunk beds too small for access to both sides of lower bed. I thought photo showed walking space on both sides of bottom bunk. Did not realize from listing that main bath and half bath were walk-through, located side by side. Wrote note to owner with list of deficiencies. Owner thanked me for taking the time to contact him and said he would take care of this. Hopefully, this will happen. Eik Landing is a great place to stay. Amazing view of harbor, excellent location.

The owner double booked this property. Weeks before the stay, we received the access key code to let us in to the property. We walked in, and there was someone else's luggage there ! We called the owner, and he apologized and said it was the fault of VRBO & Another Site (that he also uses) not communicating with each other. He made all sorts of promises (that would cost him "thousands of dollars") but he succeeded in getting us out of there, so that the other people didn't even know he had screwed-up. In the end all he did was refund us the full VRBO monies that we'd paid. He left us high-and-dry to look after getting an appropriate hotel (we needed two separate hotel rooms) because we were travelling with another couple, and he did not compensate us for any of his mistake ! Because of this, our trip cost us double what we'd expected, and it was a horrible start to our vacation. Although it was a beautiful place in a good location, I would NOT recommend this owner ! He needs to actually care about his customers and accept his responsibilities for his mistakes.

We spent 3 weeks at in the flat with 5 people (3 kids). It was a great time. We really loved the views - both in the morning and in the evening. Balcony is small but really nice to eat outside watching the water, boats and opposite island The layout of the flat is very good, with two bathrooms and a kids room that fits 3. Open kitchen - very tiny but useful working area with view on the water. The fire place works. Only draw back - a couple of things didn’t work ( hair blower, bbq and outside table were rusted so badly they had to be repaired. Didn’t get an answer here - but eventually figured out the contact of the agency and then everything was taken care of! So that was good.

What a beautiful view from the condo. We've also enjoyed watching the low tide and the high tide everyday. It's amazing.!! The kitchen is well stocked with everything we need. The condo is clean and spacious for the four of us. The location is great - its on water front but is so close to the main street. . . short walk to coffee shops, restaurants and specialty shops. Communication with the owner is good. I can't say enough good things about this place and we will definitely try to stay at this place if we come back to Tofino !!

We had a fantastic stay during our trip to Tofino and we would stay here again. The kids loved the bunk beds, and the king bed was very comfortable. We loved the living space with a great kitchen and large dining room table for board games and the fireplace was very nice to have as well. Very short walk into town which was great. The property manager was easy to get a hold of when needed. We will look forward to staying here again.
