It was freezing in the room and the heated towel rack did not work. I was unwell and when I wasn’t in bed..I was shaking. Visitors should go in the full heat of summer. Hotel reception staff were young and inexperienced and did not how to turn the heating on. The chambermaid was fantastic and empathetic! She should be promoted or they should consider more mature workers.

Excellent hotel and beautiful building.

It was a pleasure to stay at Landgoed Duin & Kruidberg. This is a stunning building with a fascinating history. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The staff were outstanding and very informative about the history of the building and also the local amenities. The hotel menu wasn’t to our taste so we walked down to a little pub/bar operation which is just a pleasant 10 minutes stroll away. It’s called Brasserie Hoeve Duin en Kruidberg and could be a good alternative for an evening meal. There is a little train station a short walk away which takes you to Haarlem within 10 minutes costing about £5 return. All in all, a very pleasant place to stay.

The bar didn't open until 5pm. We wanted an afternoon drink and had to come back.

Das Schloss samt schön dekorierten Räumlichkeiten sowie der einzigartige Spar Bereich sind ein außergewöhnliches Erlebni

Uns hat besonders gefallen, dass der Spa Bereich im Preis mit inbegriffen war. Es ist ein außergewöhnlich schöner und ruhiger Spa Bereich. Wir haben kostenlos große Handtücher und Bademäntel zur Verfügung gestellt bekommen. Zudem gab es kostenlos Wasser, Deo und Body Lotion. :)

In unserem Zimmer hat es hin und wieder nach Rauch gerochen und die Lüftung war sehr laut.

Een mooi hotel!

In dit hotel klopt alles! Vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Een mooie locatie. Een prachtig gebouw. Mooie en schone kamers. Alle ruimtes ogen vriendelijk en worden goed onderhouden. Een mooi restaurant en een heel goede keuken. De omgeving geeft rust en plezier. Een aanrader!!!

Perfekt für eine Auszeit zu zweit. Nicht weit vom Meer und Amsterdam.

Das Gebäude ist wunderschön, es erinnert an ein Schloss, alles ist sehr gepflegt, die Einrichtung ist dementsprechend. Der Park und das Aussengelände, lädt zum spazieren gehen ein. Es gibt Räume mit vielen Gemälden und in der Lobby möchte man verweilen. Der Anbau ist verwinkelt und erinnert ein bisschen an ein Labyrinth. Beim Frühstück lohnt es sich nach vegane Milchalternativen zu fragen, es gibt sie. Das Personal ist zuvorkommend und sehr freundlich.

Leider waren im Fitnessraum der Ergometer und Laufband nicht benutzbar, die finnische Sauna war ebenfalls nicht in Betrieb.

Het gebouw komt zo uit een sprookje. De bedden waren heerlijk. En super lekker gegeten. Jammer dat we niet nog meer nachten hadden geboekt. Komen zeker nog eens terug!

Prachtig hotel

We hebben twee overnachtingen gehad, in verschillende kamers omdat we onverwachts langer moesten blijven in de buurt. Beide kamers waren heel mooi en sfeervol. Het hele hotel is prachtig, echt een kasteel, nu mooi versierd voor kerstmis. Echt een hele bijzondere, sfeervolle omgeving om in te verblijven.

In ons tweede kamer was er een zeer hinderlijk geluid van de verwarming, de hele nacht door. Ook al stond de verwarming uit. Dit hield ons uit de slaap. Verder hebben we dunnere kussens gemist op beide kamers. I slip uiteindelijk met een trui onder mijn hoofd om een stijve nek te voorkomen. Het ontbijt was uitgebreid en goed verzorgd. Het brood (3 soorten geprobeerd) was na onze smaak veel te zout. Gelukkig konden we uitwijken naar andere producten.

Great place but...

I like pretty much at this place, but this stay they didn't deliver as expected.

The room had poor lighting. The table lamp has very low light bulb. The candle could be brighter. The room was not comfortable. They left all heating off. Taking into account the bad weather outside and our late arrival, it was stone cold. In combination with poor lighting it was like arriving into nice looking cave.

Hätten wir die Suite bekommen die wir online sahen wäre der Aufenthalt quasi perfekt gewesen.

Das Ambiente im Haus, das Restaurant und die öffentlichen Räume machen einen sehr komfortablen, noblen Eindruck und laden zum Erkunden ein. Auch die Parkanlage sieht vielversprechend aus, doch im nasskalten November haben wir sie nicht erkundet.

Die Suite hat weder farblich noch von der Größe unseren Vorstellungen entsprochen. Es lag auch ein leicht muffiger Geruch in der Luft. Auch Geräusche (Wasserspülung, Schritte) aus anderen Zimmern haben die Nachtruhe beeinträchtigt.

Sleeping in manorial neighborhood

Beautiful location in a beech wood between Haarlem and the sea. We slept in a new building beside the old house. The room was big and very quite with everything you need. I‘m vegan, so we didn’t eat there, but you could have diner and breakfast. Haarlem is s wonderful small town near by and Ijmuiden by the sea is a nice beach spot.

If you want quiet and piece, and go for long walks, this place is a great location.

We are coming to D&K for many years, we were somewhat surprised that the room wasn’t made up for the last day of our stay.

The fitness equipment did NOT work, when mentioning this at the front desk the answer was SORRY???? No disbursement, no nothing???? That is not guest service to me.

Great stay

Great place, excellent service and nice food. Was a joy to visit

WiFi should be better, especially if using a laptop. Need to reconnect every time you have a break and it doesn’t work properly that way.

An impressive oldnhouse experience.

Building is nice looking old house with beautyfully maintained old livingroom. Bedroom is even more impressive with good size and luxurious interior. Bed was comportable. Breakfast is not very special but good enough with excellant home made fruit juices. Garden is another good point for morning walk. Restaurant is also look famous around there.

Inner structure is a bit complex and hard to find room at first. If you have heavy luggage, you would feel far way to room. You may need to book dinner table earlier tonsecure table. There is no bath tub.

Country life

A magnificent old , manor house . Staff were very helpful and friendly . We received an upgrade to a room in the main house , up from a room in the annex. The breakfast was amazing , every kind of pastry , bacon, eggs even smoked salmon . Couldn't fault it . All in all a wonderful stay.

Bikes are rented per day, not per hour base, for those that stay only one night it is a disadvantage.
