Moeilijk parkeren, weinig plek

All was fantastic.

It's in a great location right by the footbridge that goes over the gorge and up to the old town.
The room, and bathroom, were much larger than normal and we even had a sitting room area.
The dedicated parking bay in the parking garage was a bonus.
I don't enjoy it when hotels charge for parking in their own parking garage.

The location of the hotel was amazing, the view was incredible. Room was very clean, comfortable, accessible by elevator, had a safe and mini fridge. Meals were great. We walked across the bridge to town and loved seeing it.
We were on Floor 1 which looked out onto a parking lot. The air conditioning was not on in the hotel. Our room was very warm and uncomfortable for sleeping. We opened our window but there were other customers in the parking lot outside our window smoking and chatting late in the evening. Unfortunately we could not get a peek in the convent as it looks like restoration is on-going. Parking is a concern. Luckily we had a reservation for parking in the garage (which was not included in cost of our stay).

I like the feeling of peace I get in all the Parador hotels. Our room is roomy and quiet and clean and comfortable. The food in the restaurant is wonderful.
umm.. can't think of anything. We'd been traveling and the only difficulty we had here was trying to find a laundromat that showed up on our google maps. We found one sort of accidentally on our way out of town.

This was the most expensive hotel I booked during my recent trip to Spain and I was looking forward to it. I was checked in early by a lovely lady and I parked my car in my assigned spot. Some man (who in my country we would call a 'lock hard') decided to give me driving advice. I've driven all over the world and at no point in my life have I ever welcomed such advice. He seemed very persistant and in the end angry words were exchanged.
the room was lovely and I was impressed because for the first time large towels were available in bathrooms. Bravo to the person who made this choice.
I was asked at check in and when I went to collect my key if I would like to make a reservation for dinner. I asked to see a menu and was directed to download a code to see the menu.
When I got to my room after a day driving, walking etc. my first goal was to recharge my phone. The 3rd socket worked.
Later I went to Reception to make a dinner reservation and a man who was biting his nails very persistently made my reservation. His focus was on his nails because the restaurant that night didn't have my name correct. Nobody in my family is called Ann Marie - first middle or last name.
The restaurant was to open at 8.30 and I was hungry. I'd been driving since dawn, arrived in the city at noon and had spent 6 hours walking about the city, fueled by water and a nice salad from a restaurant in the square by the cathedral. At 8.30 a number of people, including myself, milled about the entrance to the restaurant. there were sounds of activity within but we presumed that when they were ready to open, we would be welcomed. At 8.40 a couple left and just before 8.50 I asked a passing young staff member what the position was. He was surprised that I didn't know the restaurant was open. I had a been sitting , and standing near the entrace to the restaurnat for almost 20 minutes, obviously too polite. I should have just marched in and sat down. Later it occured to me that these people were unfamiliar with the concept of a solo diner and assumed I was waiting for my 'lord and master' to join me. In retrospect, I should have gone back to the cathedral square and ordered chops or something from the establishement that was clearly popular with locals. this popularity is no accident
When I was leaving in the morning I tried to explain my difficulties with the man who check me out.

the location of the hotel is magnificent and the interior of hotel is nice especially the restaurant.
we could not switch of the heating in our room and staff at check out were not really receptive to our complaint. the food in restaurant was very salty and not very tasty and that for an relatively expensive restaurant.

Location is amazing, with views directly across from old town showing the Cathedral and the famous hanging buildings. The historic structure is beautiful. The room was very comfortable and quite large. The restaurant was excellent and a good value for the quality. Staff was helpful and room clean. I recommend a stay here.
I can't think of anything to complain about; all was as advertised and more.

It was our anniversary and welcomed by the Manager. Thank you! It was my first time at a Paradores and we had the most fabulous room overlooking the river and up to the hanging houses. Wow! The room was huge and was surprised how big the bed was!
The breakfast is good once we realized we should order eggs first.
The staff in the bar especially the blonde woman was exceptional! She helped us with our Spanish and was very attentive and took the time to talk to us. Very important these days.
It was highly recommended and it did not disappoint.
Which one next?
They didn't turn on the heat yet and for us it was really cold!
The first receptionist we encountered was a bit mean and once I realized she was probably having a bad day with other uncooperative customers it made me take a deep breath. She actually told us we could park in front and we found a place to park saving us 20€ for the night. Fortunately our waitress from the bar more than made up for it!
