Visit Bergen often and the Orion is always my first choice.

Stayed at the hotel several times including before it was modernised. Standards have always remained excellent from the breakfasts to the rooms and staff customer service.

Fantastic experience

We travelled Scandinavia for 3 weeks and this is our first hotel we stayed at and it was exceptional value for money. The highlight has to be the breakfast selection, it was epic

Great position, but rooms very average and small

Position is really good. Fireplace at reception.

Rooms - we booked a room for 5 people, but couldn’t move there. Incredibly small and uncomfortable room. Beds small.

A great place to stay with the best breakfast

The location was great. We could just walk to the main attractions in the city especially the main old town of Bryggen. The staff were very friendly in answering all our questions. The breakfast was really delicious and they also had the option of the takeaway starting from 6:30 in the morning. The rooms were clean & beds were comfortable. They also have a luggage storage facility, if needed on the day of checking out, which was helpful for us. Overall a good place to stay and a great place to have breakfast, which was included in the price.

Great location and an incredible hotel breakfast

The breakfast was incredible, and the location was extremely convenient - right next to the fortress and Bryggen and easy walking distance to most tourist locations

Would most definitely recommend.

Staff excellent. Situated very close to centre. Train station walkable about 20 minutes. Fjord Boat trips very close and walkable, so to the funicular. Very comfortable.

Exceptional

The price/quality ratio was very good. The location is central, walkable distance from the ferry terminal. The room had a nice design and view of the city. The breakfast buffet had a great selection and I appreciated the longer breakfast hours after some tiring travel days.

Perfect for a one night stay before boarding a cruise ship - wish we could have stayed there longer!

The hotel was very clean and comfortable, staff very friendly and efficient. Location great for the harbour area in Bergen and just a few minutes walk to the ferry terminal the following day. Superb breakfast. Extremely good value.

Great hotel. Everything you need for a few nights stay.

Liked everything. Reception - very welcoming attentive staff who took time to say hello and bye each time I went in/out hotel. Restaurant - really wide range of choice and quality of food. outstanding. no cutting corners here. also good range of drinks. Staff also very attentive. I liked that even for those taking a later breakfast at 9am, there was the same selection of fresh and warm food as for earlier, so the chef kept up great service right to 9.30. Lounge - comfortable inviting area to relax and have a nice (free) coffee. Room - I was in 954. Comfy bed, kettle etc available (for those who like milk in their hot drinks, bring your own as there was only powdered milk). also a little cold fridge area and good safe. Walk-in shower was fab. View over back of hotel to park, mountain, fjord, car park (see pic). Hotel also offers packed lunch at 105NOK. Location - just at the end of Bryggen so great location. 10 mins max walk to harbour. little supermarket is just behind hotel to the right next to church for essentials. I also like that for solo travellers, the hotel doesn’t add on a premium penalty for room bookings! Will defo be back!

Reception (1) think you should promote your packed lunch offer at check in, as I only noticed it in a poster in the lift on my last day, as the notices scrolled round slowly! (2) provide a little map of town centre also at check on would be a nice touch

Good

Had a very nice stay for four night. Very comfortable and quiet room on the fourth floor. It was nice having a couple of comfortable chairs in the room. Bed was very comfortable. Stayed by myself and felt very safe and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and polite . It was nice having the coffee machine downstairs in the comfortable cosy hotel lounge. Hotel was near the waterfront but set back away from all the hustle and bustle. Would definitely stay again. There is a very nice coffee shop a few minutes walk that sells nice pastries and sandwiches..

the location was great, the staff so accomodating and friendly, and the breakfast buffet was extraordinary!

Everything was great - the room was small and fairly standard but big enough and a high standard. I occasionally wished I had a brighter light in the room.
