Setting, space and comfort.
4.2
Very comfortable rooms, pleasant spa, good food, nice lounge and beautiful location for walking around
Most of the staff were very pleasant and willing but needed better management, starting with the front desk and including the brasserie. Seven instances (at least) of us asking for things twice is too many for a 2 night stay….

Great location and beautiful room and good choice at breakfast

Room was great, windows dirty, that spoiled the stunning views
Very poor

All of it thank you.

Breakfast was very good. The black pudding was exceptional.
The brassiere restaurant was disappointing. Menu could be bettered by a pub.
4.2
Situation
Spa closed. No discount
I was lucky to have no dinner as there for wedding but some had to pay for dinner when at Tythe barn wedding with full catering
4.2
location and ambience
very poor Yorkshire Breakfast for a 5 star hotel.

Location
Its tired, run down, dark.Needs a refresh. It could be a wonderful place, it smelt of dogs. The room was small, the bathroom was tiny. The curtain runner was hanging off, latches on the windows ready to fall off, shower tap loose and banging of pipes most of the night keeping us awake. Such a wonderful location.
4.2
location is outstanding
it requires booking most events like breakfast and dinner when a schedule isn't great for a break
4.2
Great location
Shabby.Room had remainders of snacks on floor.Several staff had zero personality.
4.2
spacious, comfortable, clean and staff were professional, helpful and kind.
food was of high quality, tasty and beautifully presented. Some sauces were too sweet and bread served was treacle soda bred which did not go with savoury meals or starter.
4.2
friendly and professional staff, great quality food and drinks, excellent spa facilities
4.2
beautiful, traditional style property in a lovely location. the staff were very friendly and polite, a credit to the establishment. breakfast was perfect and we liked the welcome basket!
We came for a relaxing day/spa/night. the Spa - the jacuzzi was out of use which we really wanted to go and have some cocktails…. the pool, as the other option was far too cold even for me as was the relaxing bar room. we both got treatments, they were fine except my Fiancé only got a massage on one side, they were talking a lot and probably forgot, nothing major as these things happen but above average cost I expect higher standards. changing rooms also too cold - couldn’t stay in spa and left disappointed and not to return.
lunch and dinner had the exact same menu which was a little disappointing for us. staff lovely but the 3 times we went to the cocktail lounge, 3 times we had to go to reception and ask if there were staff for the bar.
bedding was a cheap bottomless duvet which I expect in premier inn so the duvet is basically exposed to all guests using that room and there was no separate sheet which I would have expected in a good hotel.
I actually did feed this back over their own email expecting a response but received nothing which again, a little disappointed as we would have considered this with our dog at some point.
it’s a collection of smaller things I appreciate but when you’re paying a real premium to stay somewhere, you expect excellence.
