This pleasant hotel is close to shops and cafes and perfect for a visit to Rennes.

Very stylish and well appointed room. My daughter told me the hair dryer in her room is excellent. There was a good choice at the buffet breakfast.

Bella Rennes - hotel non merita 4 stelle

Posizione centralissima. Colazione ottima. Asciugamani fantastici. Ottimi prodotti da bagno Rennes è una bellissima città. TV grande

Staff pessimo: non parla inglese, confusione con prenotazione Booking, disorganizzato ci hanno fatto pagare il conto della camera separatamente da tassa di soggiorno. Camera piccola e con arredi datati. Gruppo di amici alloggiavamo in 3 camere una delle quali aveva la tenda rotta. Un'altra camera affacciava in strada ed è stato impossibile dormire fino all' 1.00 a causa del summer festival (21 giugno): l'hotel dovrebbe limitare la capacità ricettiva alle sole camere affacciate all'interno in tale occasione. Bagno con doccia nella vasca:scomoda e pericolosa nell'entrata/ uscita Ascensore lento e traballante. Hall angusta e vecchia.

Bon emplacement, bien reçus !

Les réceptionnistes ont été très accueillants et compréhensifs, réactifs à solutionner un problème d’emplacement. Hôtel rénové complètement avec style. Chambre coté cour très calme, bien insonorisée, literie et linge de qualité ++. Salle des petits déjeuners, cosy, buffet varié avec de vrais fromages, oranges à presser… parfaitement bien placé dans le centre-ville, pour visiter à pied le centre historique, les quais, prendre le métro ou les bus pour aller plus loin.

Au départ installés dans une chambre au-dessus d’un bar bruyant (inconvénient connu de l’établissement), donc impossible de dormir avant sa fermeture ; aussitôt ce constat fait, nous avons été changé de chambre pour le côté cour, ici seule La baignoire n’était pas très pratique.

It was ok but wasn’t that impressed with Rennes as a city

The room was comfortable. One staff member at check in wasn’t that friendly but everyone else was fine.

The neighborhood was a bit rough. lots of boarded up windows and sketchy looking people hanging around.

good central location with easy access to Rennes centre.

No bar in the hotel. Car park has a very tight and steep entrance down the ramp but you can park a larger car in the courtyard if space available.

Perfectly nice hotel, but avoid if you plan to use the wifi and you use a VPN

This is a clean, comfortable and well appointed property with secure on site parking and only a 5 or 10 mins brisk walk from the centre of the old town.

My only gripe with this hotel, and the reason why I marked it down in my overall rating and why I will avoid Mercure hotels in future is the wifi situation. Mercure will not let you log on to their wifi if you use a VPN. Personally, I would not dream of logging on to a public or third party wifi without using a VPN, as I am not comfortable with a third party (in this case Mercure's IT system, or possibly other randoms) being able to monitor and log my computer activity. For those travelers who do not care about this kind of thing, you can disregard the above and add 1.5 points to my rating.

served our purpose but wouldn’t stay again.

very central location

it’s quite loud outside on the street during the nights especially Thursday to Saturday. You can’t sleep with the windows open, which is a bit of a pity during summer. Yes, there is a air condition but it’s loud and unhealthy. The double room is quite small and with a toddler it is nearly impossible to stay too long in the room.

Great location for visiting all Rennes sights. We were allocated a very spacious room which had kettle and coffee maker and mini bar with complimentary soft drinks. The hotel wasn’t busy; didn’t appear to be many other guests. There was a independent student’s bar below the hotel open until 1am which was noisy.

Lovely hotel

Wonderful friendly helpful staff. Lovely clean hotel. Good breakfast. Big room, very clean. Lovely touch of a free mini bar of soft drinks. Bed is very comfortable. Breakfast very well stocked and plenty variety, coffee was very good (which is very important with a baby! ) Perfect location to walking of everything, and numerous restaurants and shops!

Hotel is above a very popular bar, at the weekend its extremely noisy, ALL night, even on the top floor you can hear the music from the bar, and that's even when the music moves to the basement of the bar!! Cot provided for 1year old is far too small, more suitable for a new born to 6 month old!

Lovely hotel, perfectly situated in Rennes! The room was lovely and very quiet, good in-house parking, delicious breakfast, great shower and the best hotel towels ever (!!), helpful personnel - we had a lovely stay and will certainly be back another time!
