Excellent location & well presented hotel.

Great location with good access to transport. Breakfast buffet was good with items replenished regularly. Most staff were friendly and professional. The restaurant had undergone a modern refurbishment since our last visit. Pleasant lounge area beside reception.

Air-con was very weak. Cleaning regime required a card to be completed to indicate specific daily requirements. The normal routine was based on a 3 day cycle and not always completed by mid afternoon. (Perhaps our fault for not asking for early cleaning.) The bath/shower unit is very high sided. Take care!

Great hotel, great staff, great location. Would revisit.

This hotel is ideally located for a sightseeing weekend in Budapest. Close to the wonderful public transportation. The breakfast (included in price) was a perfect start to the day.

The only 2 small niggles we had were the pillows (not comfy) & the towels (felt old & thin).

Brilliant location right next to metro. Hotel needs a big refurbishment.

Breakfast was in a conference room due to building work. Location and hotel restaurant in the garden.

Food was a little cold at breakfast. Furniture was tired in room. Paying for extra coffee pods was a little off

Schönes Hotel, leider völlig überheizt

Alles ansere war ok.

Die Zimmer sind total überheizt, wir hatten 28,5 Grad Celsius im Zimmer. Es gibt keine Möglichkeit die Temperatur zu regulieren, ausser das Fenster zu öffnen. Ein no-go für ein Hotel dieser Klasse. Wir sind in ein anderes Zimmer gezogen, wo wir 26° hatten. TV nur mit sehr wenigen deutsche Programmen, das Erste, arte u. ein paar private. Personal spricht kaum englisch.

Una bellissima esperienza

L'hotel si trova nella via Andrassy, via ricca di bellissimi palazzi, sedi di ambasciate e designata patrimonio dell'UNESCO. Fermata metro della linea 1 a pochi passi. L'hotel è situato in posizione strategica tra il centro, che si raggiunge in pochi minuti, e piazza degli eroi ad appena 2 fermate. L'hotel è elegant e pulito, il personale disponibile e cordiale. La nostra camera era una Deluxe ed era molto ampia con letti comodi ed un bel bagno Ottima e ricca la colazione.nel complesso un ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Abbiamo anche provato il ristorante sia a pranzo che a cena. Servizio impeccabile, veloce e piatti buonissimi. Prezzi a cena nella media. A pranzo decisamente economico ( offrono sia menù alla carta che un menù fisso con piatti tradizionali molto buoni) Per gli italiani in crisi di astinenza da caffè (che ovviamente è orribile ovunque) c'è la Nespresso in capsule in camera.

Nice hotel near the old metro

I normally stay in the nearby hotel Benczúr which was full this time, however. I chose this accomodation because of the promotion price, otherwise it would a bit expensive for me. Stayed in the third floor, windows to the courtyard. Silent in the night, you can only hear traffic from Andrassy street if you leave the window open. The heating works through A/C and there is a control panel on the wall which allowed me to adjust temperature according to my liking. Fast wifi, hot water anytime, room service only on demand (which is fine by me). Really good breakfast - plenty of choices and with hungarian products, too. Friendly personel. You can order a taxi to the airport in the reception and pay for it there in advance. The hotel is 5min from Bajza utca metro station, so you can get anywhere you need quick.

The ceiling fan in the shower was permanently on and it was not possible to turn it off, it was quite loud annoying sound. Closing the bathroom door would solve this problem, though. The table was really small for working on laptop.

I will stay near Heros' Square again

Reception staff auper helpful with local knowledge, also helped with a taxi driver problem I created. Location is fabulous, 200m from underground railway into the heart of Budapest, 10 minute walk to Szchenyi Baths and four wonderful museums and art galleries, and a park. The surrounding streets are full of beautiful mansions with wonderful art nouveau features. Room was a good size, bathroom excellent. I ate breakfast most days, delicious offerings for all tastes, Eastern Eoropean and Western European fare. I also ate a late dinner on arrival at about 9.30pm. Small but good menu. They also arranged taxis for me. Wonderful staff.

I wonder if the wardrobes could cater for the length of women's dresses, this was a minor problem in Berlin and Paris too.

Serene stay on Andrassy Avenue

Superb location. 5 minutes' walk from Heroes square and city park with all the wonderful museums. 2 minutes' walk from the metro stop (yellow line). For me, the link cation was perfect....away from the noisy, crowded, and less clean stretch of Andrassy Avenue (e.g. Opera and Oktagon) but only a 15 minute walk on the beautiful boulevard to the busy parts of Andrassy Avenue and very easy for metro access to go to all the sights. Clean, spacious room. Hotel surrounded by the stunning buildings of this famous avenue. You can get single use public transport tickets at reception.

The seal on the windows in my room (with a balcony) needed to be a bit better to keep out all the traffic noise. The hotel is located in a very quiet area but slightly better window seals would have been perfect...but this only applies if you are very noise sensitive! No shops nearby....nearest at least 10 minutes' walk away...but this was to be expected as this was the embassy quarter which was beautiful, clean and serene.

Explore Budapest from here on foot.

Loved the location between Heroes Square (5 minutes walk) and the Basilica area (20 minutes walk) on Andrassy Street with also a 20 minutes walk to the danube. Surprisingly peaceful considering the location. Rooms are spacious and comfortable , we had a balcony which overlooked a side street, great to enjoy your morning coffee. The onsite brasserie restaurant and bar is very good.. All the staff were friendly, helpful and polite. On site parking at €17 per night is a little high but there are other options in the side roads. Will definitely stay again, next time in Budapest..

Not much to not like. It is a little pricey, there are cheaper options but you get what you pay for.

Definitely recommended even after the one thing we dint like. It was a really mice room.

It was a really nice property. Super clean and comfortable room.

There were no double bed quilts but two single bed quilts for a double bed which we find surprisingly strange. The quilts were not too thick as well, but one can get extra ones if needed which we did need.

A really enjoyable stay but please please turn up the heat at breakfast

We've stayed at the Mamaison previously and will stay again in the future god willing. The location is excellent, the room lovely, the bed comfy and the staff very good.

Breakfast was an issue on 2 of the 3 days, as the cooked food stored in the buffet style containers was luke warm at best. There was a lot of choice, fruit, cereal, cold meats, cheese, pastries, rolls, coffee, tea, so much it's almost wrong to criticise but the food that was supposed to be hot wasn't. We mentioned it on day 2 and yet this morning when we went for an earlier breakfast, it wasn't hot or even luke warm. Our mark would have been a lot higher if the breakfast had been hot rather than tepid and really don't understand why our complaint seemed to be ignored. Hopefully the hotel will think this a fair review as everything else was very good, the cooked breakfast being cold once is bad, but two days running unacceptable and disappointing for a 4 star hotel

Not what expected

Check-in was good, room was spacious. Balcony was nice to have.

Cafeteria was not filled up when we arrived, had to go downstairs to ask for at least milk for our coffee. This was also not filled up on room service, and i left it open in purpose for them to see. Only thing they done was taking the rubbish. One of the plug was out of the wall which was pretty dangerous. Phone was not working at all, i have raised this at the reception, but it was not fixed whilst we stayed there. On check out they did not bother to even ask if we enjoyed the stay, only asked what we took from the minibar. Not very professional.

Good, but...

Great area , next to the metro and buses without all the noise of the city Price was worth it as well Bed was comfortable

The staff were abit rude at times, i asked that they wont leave the terrace open in our room as we keep coming back to alot of flys in the room and they just didnt care
