Hotel Britannia definitely exceeded our expectations. It is a 15 minute walk from the city centre in a beautiful location, with beautiful views of the Gulf of Naples and Vesuvius.
The room was very spacious and very clean. We had a balcony with sea view which was the highlight of the stay.
The breakfast was really nice and they had freshly made Italian cakes every morning like Ciambelone.
The hotel also offers tours to Amalfi and Capri which I would definitely recommend.
Special commendations for the staff at reception! All three of them were amazing! They awaited us with a drink ( their lemon slushie with Apperol) because it was my birthday. Helped us with restaurant suggestions and even allowed us to check out slightly later. The cleaning lady and breakfast lady was also amazing!
The location of the hotel is a bit up the hill, but nothing crazy and I would say it’s in a perfect location for all attractions.
The hotel also has an amazing terrace and beautiful sunsets.
I liked everything!

L'endroit est propre, bien décoré. Notre chambre, quelle vue magnifique (côté mer).

we had a lovely stay at Hotel Britannia, can’t fault a single thing. the room was huge and felt luxurious, the bathroom was clean and well equipped, the aircon was an absolute life saver and worked great. the balcony was adorable, as was the rooftop terrace, and breakfast was delicious every morning. the staff were brilliant, very informative and friendly, even gave us a restaurant recommendation which really hit the spot! great location too, was nice and quiet since it’s just outside the town and the views on the short walk down are nothing short of spectacular (keep an eye out for the waterfalls on the left hand side of the road!). there is also a bus stop just outside the hotel that can take you anywhere in town. we had a wonderful time and can’t wait to come back. thank you!!!
nothing whatsoever.

Upon checking in the hotel staff give you a small lemon slushie as a welcome refresher!
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The place is kept immaculately clean. A short bus ride into the centre of town with the bus stop right at the hotel.

Quiet, spotless, comfortable. Beautiful location
Kettle, coffee machine and fridge in the room

The Hotel Britannia was an excellent choice - high up allowing a good view from the hotel. The bus stop is just at the hotel, although the bus only comes every half hour, so one is walking down into Sorrento most of the time. The staff are extremely kind and helpful.
I can't earmark anything I didn't like.

the location is perfect. walk 10-15 minutes to shops and centre. Bus stop front of the door. Amazing view perfect breakfast And most important part is about very polite and caring staffs.
only shower needs to get some renovation to stop running water everywhere in bathroom area And Tv was very little for the room.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Britannia, Sorrento. The staff was super friendly and went out of their way to make you comfortable. We had adjoining rooms, plenty of space and two bathrooms which was great. Location was great; 15 minute walk into town. We loved our stay at this hotel and will recommend it to our friends and family.

Our stay at Hotel Britania was superb. Stefano and his team were amazing from start to finish. Always so helpful and friendly. The breakfast was lovely every morning. The view from the rooftop was exceptional. Our room was very spacious and clean. I loved everything about our stay at Hotel Britannia and if returning to Sorrento, we would definitely stay here again.
I liked everything about our stay at HB. It is located in an excellent location about 15/20min walk from centre, however at the top of a hill. We didn't mind walking but that could be a disadvantage for some. However, the views from the top of the hill are spectacular.

The owner and service team is wonderful! They are polite and thoughtful. When I asked for expanding my staying but they were fully booked, they helped me found another hotel and helped me to transfer my luggage to the new hotel while I was traveling.

Nice hotel, very clean, good location, just a few mins walk from Sorrento. Great views. The staff was awesome.
Breakfast finishes at 9.30 which is ok for most people, but a bit too early cut off for me.

great value for money. Staff was very nice and kind. Location was really good, next to bus station on walking distance to the city and marina grande. Amazing view from rooftop and a nice breakfast included.
the view from the rooms is to a wall, but you have a small balcony at least. Still good value for the money because of the great view from the rooftop.

great staff very helpful. good value for sorrento.
bit of a walk from town. but you could get the bus.

Wonderful staff (family owned). You can tell they take pride in their hotel. Vary helpful staff. He gave us great suggestions on restaurants and getting around. It's about 1 1/2 miles from the center of the city but the bus stops right in front of the hotel and was easy to use.
Given that we were just looking for sleeping accommodations on a budget, Hotel Britannia more than met our expectations.
Nothing really.

Brittania Hotel was an oasis of calm for me and proved to be pretty much perfect for the solo trip I was undertaking. Stefano was so helpful and friendly, striking the perfect balance for me; I had travelled to Sorrento before but never alone. The rest of the hotel staff were also friendly and welcoming and I felt safe and very much at home. My room was comfortable and clean with a fabulous balcony with sea view.
The roof terrace with hot tub was delightful. My favourite spot to soak up some unexpectedly hot sunshine - the view from this area is truly spectacular.
Thank you Stefano and everyone, I will return.
My only comment is that I felt the en-suite bathroom could do with some updating, but was perfectly functional.

very basic, not even a luggage rack in the room provided. not worth paying £300 odd for

Excellent reception from staff who made stay very welcoming.
Bus stop to Sorrento Town centre outside hotel running every 20 mins
Parking available.
On a busy road.. noisy..

Lovely hotel near the main town of Sorrento. Stefano was very helpful and gave us some cheaper alternatives for food & tours. Hotel was very clean and has a jacuzzi on the rooftop which has a nice view of Sorrento. Will definitely be returning in the future!
Nothing!

Brilliant Gem if a Hotel. Great views over the Bay to Vesuvius. Top class service great roof terrace and hot tub. Stefano a d his team were fantastic.
The only thing we missed was a pool but if you can manage without, this place is perfect.

it was excellent. the hospitality from the owner was the best. it was also super clean. Every morning we enjoyed our gourmet breakfast. I highly recommend. Beautiful boutique hotel. If I go back to Sorrento, I would definitely stay there again.
I can’t think of anything not to like.

Please see prior review, we were all part of the same group, I had to make two different reservations to accommodate our group size.

We were a group of 11, 5 couples and 1 single. We were able to secure rooms for all. The location was excellent, our host Stefano, his son, Giuseppe, the young man who ran the bar, assisted with luggage, the housekeeping staff, were outstanding. the breakfast room and offerings were lovely and very comprehensive. We loved the rooftop area, due to rain, bar wasn’t open so we did our own happy hour. The views were spectacular. There are two excellent restaurants within walking distance. The Verdemare, Stefano made reservations for us, we went several times. The other restaurant is in the La Tonnela, again within walking distance. It is fine dining, well worth a visit. Make a reservation. The bus stopped right in front of the hotel. Again, Stefano and staff were helpful as we navigated the bus system. The lobby and bar area is very nice to gather and meet others. Our group felt very welcomed, like we were at home which was very nice as we had been on tour for 15 days at that point. Also there are tour options in the lobby and again, Stefano and staff are very helpful assisting.
The garden rooms were double size with a garden view. Given the time of year, the views were limited. Having said that, it was pouring for two days!
4.5
staff were friendly and very helpful. rooms were nice and the location we liked. you can walk to town, there is a small section with no footpath but always felt safe amongst the traffic. there is a bus stop right outside to take you in to town if you would prefer not to walk.
nothing.

The property

The view from the rooftop was great. The breakfast was very good with a lot of variety. The location is south of town a bit but there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel and bus tickets are cheap.
My room was labeled as "garden view" but the only view was of shade cloth blocking the garden behind it and of other people's balconies.
They had a jacuzzi on the roof which was great but closed they closed it at 7 PM which was unreasonable. I like to jacuzzi just before bed so I sleep better. A 9 or 10:00 PM closure would have been much better. During the day most people are off site seeing or going out to dinner or an evening stroll in town. There are no local restaurants as far as I know and nothing to do in that immediate area.
I was unaware of any local beaches and after returning home, I read the local beach is for residents only.
Tourists have to pay a high fee to rent a space if allowed at all.
Price was high for one person at $150 per night. $100-$125 max would have been more reasonable for one person as there was nothing to do right there and no view from the room.
Adding scrambled eggs to the breakfast would have been a nice touch; More protein and less carbs.

The restaurant up the street verde mare was very good. It was a little scary the first time walking on the street not realizing we should stay to the sea side but then it was great and fun to walk around and easy to get to the city. Great location and price.
The towels.

Staff very nice and friendly. Breakfast was very good.
Balcony with garden view disappointing and very open no privacy
3.0
A very friendly staff, hot jacuzzi on the rooftop
The room was not comfortable, minimal breakfast, basic towels and blanket and the location is over 2km from the city uphill.
