The location and the room exceed my expectations for the price I paid, it is extremely good value for money combined with a real service focused approach from amazing staff. I will definitely stay at this hotel on any future trip to Essex

We loved the location right on the front.
The bed was hard. The room felt quite drab and cheaply done. I know this is not the most expensive hotel but it is also not the cheapest. Just felt very basic.

Free Parking, accommodation and staff was all very good
Little too far from the centre of Southend but that’s not really anything you can do about that.

The Hotel was very clean all round, lovely breakfast area. Bar facilities available.
Car park was available, however do not think it was owned by the hotel. The first day I arrived I was unable to park. When I did finally get a space the car park was full of potholes. I’m not sure how this
could be remedied.

The room was clean and comfortable. The location of the room was in the annex side which suited my wife and I as it was a great deal private and quieter than the main building. Location of hotel is right on the seafront although we didn't have a sea view from foom 28.
We were told that breakfast was between 8 am - 10 am. My wife and I arrived for breakfast at 9.30 am. We were not asked if we were guests staying at the hotel and were seated at a set table for two. I did hear the waitress moaning in the kitchen that she had two 'walk in's' for breakfast. The kitchen chef did not sound too happy. Our order was taken but my wife and I did feel a little uncomfortable whilst eating our breakfast. We were then asked to pay for the breakfast even though I showed the waitress it was included in the conformation from booking.com The waitress asked us to go to the till twice to pay, however, eventually she did confirm the cost of the breakfast was included in the booking fee. My wife and I felt extremely embarrassed as though we had walked off the street to steel breakfast. We certainly did not feel like guests of the hotel.

Very clean, comfy bed, nice shower, car parking available, great views of the estuary, very convenient for the venue to which I was going in the evening, good TV & WiFi signal, great breakfast freshly cooked, friendly & very helpful staff.
I felt that some of the ‘don’t’ notices in the bedroom were a bit on the aggressive side & could be re-worded to get the same message over, but it was obvious the notices were based on the experience of a few of their guests.

I booked the hotel
I got a call from the hotel saying due to a booking.com error they have no room for me anymore
Rude and unhelpful as it was late at night at this point with no solution or good will

In my view the Bar drinks were overpriced £ 18.00 for a gin and tonic!

Lovely hotel on the promenade. Convenient free parking. Great breakfast. Friendly and polite staff.
Room was stifling hot due to heated towel rail in bathroom. Had to have the fan on and the window cracked open. In November! Should have a switch to turn off the towel rail. Would help save some electricity too!
