Needs the small things done and then this would be a great hotel

The hotel itself was lovely but it just needs a little TLC, Positive - The room is massive, the breakfast was lovely, the staff are great, perhaps a little pricey but even after the negatives would probably stay there again.

Negatives - ie:- the room had some mold on the ceiling above the bed, not much and probably isn't to much of a problem but paint over it, the bathroom had a plug in the sink that wasn't attached to anything, three pictures on the wall as you walk into the room, one picture frame was cracked and sticking out, the carpet could do with changing in the room, it just needs the little things done.

Relaxed

A beautiful characterful old coaching inn.

It is a little ‘tired’ looking and might be too old fashioned for some younger guests but I understand that it will be under going a refurb shortly

The perfect place to stay in this lovely town.

Warm and welcoming ( place and staff) . The decor and furnishings were really very well tailored to this uniquely characterful place to both stay and eat in.

Archie was anazing. On his own for breakfast and catered for everyone. A real asset!

Amazing room, although the people above were walking about lots and the floor was extremely creaky!

A unique hotel full of character & charm', serving delicious food

My husband enjoyed breakfast &was grateful for the thoughtfulness of the waiter who seated him in the quiet of the bar as there was a large party in the dining room

The staff were super friendly and the breakfast was great.

Although the property is old you expect a certain charm however the hook to put the shower up on the wall was broken so had to hold it to shower. And the mattress had to have been really old. It wad so soft and creeky We were told they are starting renovations so I hope that includes updating bathrooms and furniture!

Great experience will definitely return. The negative points did not spoil our experience

we loved it, very handy for getting out and exploring. All of the staff were very friendly especially Paul. Thank you all for making our trip so enjoyable.

The lighting in our room could be improved. Made reading difficult in the evening. Gluten free for breakfast was very limited for my wife she never has a fried breakfast. As we always take GF bread and cereal with us there was no problem, other than paying for a breakfast.

Stayed in the past was beginning to look a bit dated but impressed as rooms, bar and facilities greatly refurbished new owner. Very impressed 👍👍

The breakfast was exceptional...the variety and portions were wonderful...you certainly don't go hungry.

Weekend Stay at the Brook Whipper-in Hotel

The room was big, comfortable and warm. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good and great value for money.

The taps required a bit of turning to get the water running.

lovely quaint and reasonably priced

really welcoming and room was a really good size.

looking a little dated but owners currently renovating and where the areas have been renovated it has made a massive difference. will return in the future

Ideal location, comfy bed, superb breakfast and superb staff

it is being improved/renovated very well under new owners. the lounge/bar area has been upgraded very tastefully and has a cosy log fire and the dining room is well presented and has lots of character. Good free car park close by. Lovely welcoming reception area.

Very pleasant hotel

Lovely old inn in market square, well furnished. Nice big room. Very good, freshly made breakfast to order. Ample street parking or big car park to rear. Breakfast waiter was exceptionally pleasant.

Car park instructions should be included on booking emails. By mistake (not of my making) we found the key to our room opened the room door opposite- security could be an issue. Bath water ran very murky so I reverted to a quick shower.

Wonderful food, great location

The location of the hotel is great. We ate in the hotel restaurant, it was the launch of their new menu and the food was simply delicious and very good value for money. Breakfast the following morning was also super.

It was a little chilly in the room, especially the bathroom. However, there was a small electric fan heater in the room, obviously not suitable for the bathroom but did heat the bedroom.
