The staff were always friendly. There is no lift in the hotel but the hotel manager was very helpful in carrying my suitcase upstairs and downstairs in the revolving staircase. The hotel is a very convenient location as it is only a few minutes' walk to the shops, Glastonbury Information Centre and the ruins of Glastonbury Abbey.

It is historic.
It is very run down and shabby. Our room was very scruffy, missing paint and plaster and was not clean it had a dirty window looking onto a littered and dirty flat roof. There was one large scratched wooden wardrobe, no table / flat surface or chairs. The staff were indifferent when we asked for an upgrade and a bathroom sanitise.

Breakfast very good, plenty to eat and severed in quaint dining room
Evening restaurant, twice we have had a poor choice of food as they has run out of a lot on their menu. Suggest you either eat before 6pm or go to the Indian up the road

Its character, history and vibe. Amazing building. Very quirky. Uneven floors, creaky , a bit spooky, like being in a time warp, absolutely as you’d expect for an Inn over 600 years old steeped in history . I love it and been many times.
Theres nothing I didn’t like it.
4.0
Fantastic location, nearby parking. And lovely looking building full of history.
Our room was divided by a fire exit hallway with no lockable door either side from bedroom to bathroom, it didn't feel very secure.
The room was very clean but the bathroom was incredibly dated with holes in bath tiles, crack in bath panel and yellowing hair dryer.
Remote control to TV also only worked on random buttons, I wanted subtitles so as not to disturb other guests as I was awake all night with noisy radiator.
The pressure was also very low in hot water bath tap.
Most importantly when you pay £130 for a room you expect a good nights sleep. I was kept awake all night by continuous loud cracking and banging noises from the radiator despite turning it off followed by a the air conditioning unit whirring away outside . Didn't sleep at all.
Really disappointed as we regularly stay in and around Glastonbury and love the look of this building but have had better experiences in every other hotel, guesthouse or air BnB's we have stayed in locally
I also noted on my return home that some of the above issues have been raised beforehand not addressed.
We had been looking forward to our stay but left disappointed.

The room was olde worlde and had bags of character. We love vintage things so was perfect for us. If you are looking for modern and shiny then this isn't for you. We were in room 8 - The Confessional and it had a atmosphere of being haunted, we got woken up at 2am and 5am by the sound of someone/something running down the corridor which made our stay very memorable. Shower was very powerful and tea making facilities were welcome. Staff were great.
It didn't bother us but plaster was coming off the walls in places as the building is over 600 years old!!

Great location, lovely historical building
Facilities and decor a bit tired and could do with a facelift, especially for the price.

location is superb, right on the high street. Very beautiful gothic building. Check in was quick and easy. rooms were spotlessly clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of attractions worth visiting, white spring, the tor, chalice well and the abbey. highly recommend this place to stay.

Great location, in walking distance from both the Abbey and Chalice Well.
Full English breakfast very nice.
Very interesting bedroom with old furniture including a four poster bed with wood-panelled top
Spiral stone steps up to the rooms could be a bit challenging with luggage.

It was a perfect stay, the staff were so helpful and friendly, highly recommended

The breakfast was good but the dining area was cold and draughty causing my breakfast to cool down quickly.
Cold and draughty dining area. Also limited and predictable menus. Expected more from a place like this.

The room was quirky (which was to be expected due to it being a medieval hotel) comfortable and spotlessly clean. The staff were wonderful, they were kind and considerate and went the extra mile to accommodate our needs. We loved every minute of our stay. We ate all our meals in their 5 star food hygiene rated restaurant, the food was tasty, and good value for money and the service was excellent,
we can highly recommend the George and Pilgrims.

We would strongly recommend this structure for its position and the standard quality
Maybe just the breakfast, we would have appreciated more variety, no cakes, no pastries served.

didn’t realise breakfast wasn’t included

the character, the homeliness, the food and the staff were all exceptional
our bedding was quite thick so we were very warm throughout the night. The pillows were also very firm.

The hotel and bar staff were so friendly and helpful. 10 out of 10.
A special thank you for finding a safe place to store our bicycles.
Lovely old building. The bar and breakfast area.
Perfect location.
The room decor was tired.
The bathroom radiator was on hot 24/7 & heating system noisy except at night. I left a note so hopefully this will be fixed.

We were absolutely satisfied about our stay at the hotel. We liked the atmosphere of the building so much.
7.0
The location and the friendliness of the staff - plus its long history (built 1452-1477)
My room had a loud intermittent drip sound that was very troubling. Also I couldn’t get the shower to run hot, but it was otherwise a good shower system.

Perfect location
Don't take big luggage as you need to carry via rounded stairs.

The staff was very friendly helpful and I’d like to thank the cleaner who went out of her way to help me with getting change for the parking outside

Really friendly staff especially the manager and lady who served breakfast. Amazing building. Quirky and full of history right in the centre of town.

awful sewer smell in the bar/eating area..
no seating available even if we wanted to eat..
constant noise in room from the bar until midnight
very load banging noise for 3 minutes at 01.00 hours which meant we hardly slept all night..
bedding was basic and worn..
4.0
Very limited food options, some items on the menu unavailable and our server was unable to offer anything outside of the set meals. Not even a portion of chips.
The waitress seated us 3 feet away from the service entrance 🙄

nice old pub
the fact I paid a lot more for last min stay.
had no hot water and heating which I found out in the morning. was leaving early so no one was on reception to sort it.
they haven’t responded to my complaint. told manager would be in contact but nothing.
the young lad told me he tried at 9 and it was fine but being a plumber I know after running the water for 20 mins it’s not going to get hot. it’s like the hot water hadn’t been turned on and turned thermostat on to the rad and the noise you couldn’t sleep with.
very poor

Wonderful location, full of history, friendly, helpful staff, good breakfast. Sunday lunch was plentiful. The bar was beautifully decorated for Christmas, great selection of drinks including local ales and cider.
This is an ancient building - don’t expect great soundproofing!
