The location. The room. The peace & quiet. The staff. Everything.
A shame that there was no meal facility in the evening.

The house, grounds, breakfast and lovely couple running the place were exceptional! Couldn't fault it, wish we could have stayed longer.

Excellent mansion in an extraordinary garden. Amazing nice landlord (f) and family. We will definitely return. Afternoon tea and breakfast were great.

We enjoyed everything about this magical place. The amazing gardens, the smell of jasmin. The beauty and elegance of every room. The stunning colection of statues of Lions, we ended up finding one for us in Glastonbury to hold as a precius memory of our stay at Beryl. The breakfast and the afternoon tea and the warm presence of the family that lives there and takes care of the house and its gests. Beryl is a wonderful place, we felt as we had been invited to the crowning if the King that took place while we were staying there.

Breakfast was excellent - cooked perfectly to order and served with a smile every day! Hosts had excellent local knowledge and great suggestions for days out.
Internet was a little patchy - once connected it was ok - ok for holiday guests but may frustrate business travellers. Everything else was great.

The place was very clean and beautifully presented, and the aesthetics of the hotel were a delight. The bed was super comfy and the food was lovely and tasty and also presented very nicely It was lovely and quiet.
upon arrival I was around 30 minutes early for check-in, I thought that my journey was going to take longer than expected, but after parking my car my partner and I walked down to the courtyard where someone was cutting some foliage off the house. He asked if he could help, I explained that we had a reservation, he with an extremely passive-aggressive and spoiled attitude told us that this was his family home and we are early so we could not check in until the right time. I was a little miffed by this as I work at a hotel and I always welcome residents if they arrive early and tell them that although the room is not ready to check in, they are welcome to use the facilities until that time. He told us to leave, this hotel had lots of places to sit outside on the beautiful grounds, and the pool to sit by I asked if it would be ok to stay somewhere outside in the gardens as we are not from the area and We would not know where else to go for less than 30 minutes, He told me no as the residents at the pool are paying customers and would not like to be disturbed, I paid full price for this hotel and the customers that have checked out that day already have checked out by then and so 30 mins wouldn't affect the customers that are already there I would be sitting on those deck chairs within 30 mins? I then asked him if he could suggest somewhere, coming down from his ladder shouting at me saying how booking should have sent us an email (I didn't receive one) explaining that it was his home and that it's disrespectful to arrive early and he didn't know where I could go and if I ring the bell maybe Holly will let us in, I didn't have a clue who Holly was? we booked this hotel during the good weather to stay for the night as we lived only 2 hours away in S.

Absolutely charming character property. Very welcoming hosts who made the stay even more enjoyable. Spotlessly clean throughout. Beautiful bedroom (Winston) with lovely huge bathroom with separate shower cubicle. The shower was fantastic with plentiful amounts of hot water. Small kitchenette for guest use was fantastic for storing cheese from Cheddar. Excellent choice and quality breakfast and an added bonus of afternoon tea and delicious cake. I am quite hard to please but every box was ticked here. Loved the house and Wells was amazing.
There is nothing to dislike.

it’s a magical place. it’s peaceful and elegant. The grounds are beautiful and varied too with the lovely pool, fountains, woods including redwoods and a fairy oak. It’s just beautifully tranquil. But added to this, Wells itself is only five minutes away.

Beryl Country House is simply the most handsome and decadent B&B you will ever find. I have stayed in many 5 star country hotels over the years but this private home and it’s welcoming owners beat them all. The room - Winston - was beautifully appointed, huge bath/shower room, fabulous decor and furnishings, giant luxurious bed, beautiful peaceful room with a country view. Breakfast was generous and packed with top quality ingredients. I must also comment on the immaculate presentation and spotless cleanliness of the room and the beautiful other spaces available to guests. A warm welcome, coffee/tea/cake on arrival, a well stocked honesty bar, an outdoor swimming pool, beautiful gardens and views, simply divine. You can’t beat this, a real hidden gem!
Absolutely nothing!

Such a wonderful stay and would return!

This was by far the most luxurious and nicest hotel of our 19 days stay in south England. The location is outside the city, but we walked down and up in 15 minutes, so no parking problems. Private parking. The interior was exceptional nice, like Wallace House or Wilton house. The family itself is the owner and is in charge of all, the breakfast was exceptional served at your table, with all in silver!! The garden with beautiful trees, flowers and great swimmingpool. Our room, first store back had only very small bathroom, but the room itself was beautiful and large, everything 100%
It was almost a royal reception, a place with a top service and interior taste. It is a real 5 * small luxury hotel.

Everything was perfect. The rooms are beautiful and the whole experience of staying in such a gorgeous manor house like guests in a Bnb not a hotel is priceless. We loved the 3 pm cake and tea and the breakfasts were delicious. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

From the welcome, which included afternoon tea, to the comfortable room and equally comfortable bed. The breakfast was served with such style and panache and was just gorgeous. Absolutely nothing was trouble. The house was very comfortable and so much hard work and a lot of love has gone into making you feel at home.
Absolutely nothing. We didn't want to leave
