Dinner, small pool, service

Staff was generous, breakfast was reach and well made
Rooms are a bit old, mattress worn and uncomfortable

Nice style, good food generally, friendly staff
I felt the extra cost to add a third person to one of the rooms was high (over 200€ per day).

This was a skiing trip in February. I really liked the hotel's ambiance and location. The food was really good: fresh crisp clean salad leaves :) which is a great indicator of their overall produce quality as salad leaves are most perishable food out there; their local cheese selection was superb, so was the bread variety. The location was very convenient in terms of proximity to the ski depot and ski lifts - thumbs up for that. Also their spa facilities: the view from the outdoor pool is as you see it on their website - stunning! The saunas and resting area with most comfortable reclining chairs overlooking the mountains and the village with a glimpse of cute ponies roaming around their spacious pen, - all made the spa experience even more special! And their herbs and fruit / veg flavored water jugs timely replenished and presented in an impeccable hygienic display is worth a high praise. Have I mentioned they got a fire place in the spa area too :) Their 5 course dinner might seem as an overindulgence, but the portions are actually quite small and so the whole dining experience is quite pleasant, unless you are with children and wanna finish the meal faster, which can be actually requested and served to your personal needs.
The bed mattress could have been better. There was almost a slight dent in mine, which I was sliding into that made my sleep less comfortable. Plus their pillows weren't to my liking, as I prefer either memory foam (Tempur) or duck feather / down pillows (the ones in Eden hotel in Rome Italy or at Four Seasons in Geneva are the best ;) So the hotel could really invest / improve on that. And their no swim suits policy in the mixed gender saunas could be a shocker for those coming from more conservative parts of the world like us ;) A few points to consider though:
- if you head to the spa early afternoon you can enjoy the facilities all to yourself and avoid a more crowded experience later on which is after 4 pm;
- the hotel does offer a family sauna downstairs (which obviously does not offer the same views etc.);
- it's a flexible no swim suit policy as per the hotel owners, so to be or not to be naked is fully at your own discretion despite of what some of the naked guests might try to convince you (which happened to us on a few occasions from the same person :)
Hope this is helpful! Enjoy your stay at Hotel Tirol!

Stayed in a superior double room with balcony, which had wonderful views, and the layout of the room was fine and had nice decor and comfortable lounge chairs. As the weather was quite hot during our stay, we had to keep the balcony door open to get cooler air in the night, but the street noise was quite loud, so we changed rooms. We then had a superior dble room on the 1st floor which had a very nice layout - bedroom was separated from a nice lounge area with a sofa. It was much quieter to the back of the hotel, and we did not miss having a nice view as the whole day one is out hiking and taking-in the amazing views! The half-board was a great - for breakfast there was an extensive and varied choice of hot & cold items, including made to order egg dishes, and for dinner there was a varied 6-course menu, including a vegetarian option. The hotel has been fully renovated to a very appealing 'alpine-style' and has a full range of extras including a rooftop infinity pool, roof terrace and SPA-sauna & massage facilities.
