THE LOCATION WAS PERFECT

Next to the beach, good bedding, tidy resort (good maintenance), large and unusually deep swimming pool. Very good location close to all restaurants and cafes.

Great location and some lovely staff
Few facilities - nothing for kids, little entertainment

A spacious and spread hotel in a huge area, wonderful staff, welcoming and with a high awareness of service. Smiling all the time and taking care of everything. Spacious, clean and comfortable rooms. Great shower and everything is close to the sea. Right in front of the sea. Great atmosphere of freedom and rest in Greece.
The hotel is a bit far from all the activities both in Malia and from beaches and other active resorts. There was a mirror and a kettle missing in the room. Small and uncomfortable sink.

There are two things that we really liked about the hotel. 1: Our sea-view bungalow looked nice and was quite spacious, we felt comfortable there. 2: The hotel's "private" beach would be great (if they actually kept it private).
We stayed at Kernos Beach in August 2021. The service was a disappointment in almost all areas. We heard from locals that the owner intended to sell the hotel at the end of the season and was saving costs wherever she could. This would explain why previous seasons might have been better. Some impressions below:
Our sea-view bungalow was not prepared when we arrived (and we arrived late at around 6 pm), there were even still products (like a razor) left from previous guests; the dishes at buffet were often dirty (espcially the breakfast muesli bowls); the room cleaning service regularly entered our bungalow without announcing themselves; covid rules were not enforced by the staff (e.g., people were not wearing masks at buffets); you regularly had to fight for your chairs at the "private" beach because there were people that were not hotel guests occupying hotel chairs and the beach responsibles did not even care about it much (they would only help you out after complaining and were generally very rude); we regularly had to queue to get a table for breakfast, it took ages to get coffee refills (because there was not even remotely enough personnel), and you would generally not be able to e.g. order a bottle of water for breakfast or coffee after dinner (they would let you know you should go to the cafeteria for this); you would need to book massages in spa ca. 3 days in advance (who wants to plan a massage 3 days in advance when on vacation?); staff did not react to my messages via booking.com; food was generally rather disappointing (I would definitely recommend going to the restaurants in town instead, especially for lunch / dinner!); ...

Nice, comofortable room, restaurant excellent location, open air, close to the sea, food tasty but not much choice. The staff is very friendly, polite, always kind. GM very kind, greeted us at arrival. We didnt like our room they changed it right away.
Lovely place right at a beautiful sandy beach.
I wish they had a washing line on the balcony, where you can put your wet towels and swimsuits to dry. And some hooks in the bathroom for towels. Also some desktop trash cans should be placed on the tables in the dining room, without those the wind blows every piece of paper, napkin, etc. from the tables.

We have just finished a perfect vacation in Kernos beach hotel earlier today.
We are family of 6, came here for 8 days and the experience was great.
The staff, the food, the room, the hotel's beach and pool facilities - all were in the highest level.
We strongly and highly recommend to choose this hotel, and hope to come back next year.
