The breakfast was good there were different choices on the days. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The views were exceptional.
Would like the steps to end of the steps to be marked with a bright markings

The staff were helpful and friendly. The resort itself is well set out - some of the pools were empty, due to a dry period and lack of water overall in Rarotonga. We had our own pool which was well used. Made use of the free laundry facilities. Our room was comfortable and spacious.
Not really "didn't like" just two comments. The floor tiles in our room could do with a thorough hot mop followed by a good buff. The housekeeping staff did come into the room at random hours during the day but were very quick in and out.

Food at the resort was quite good. The buffet on the cultural dance night was excellent. However, the Sunday evening roast that we experienced was not that good. Breakfast buffet included hot food so that was OK. Room was a good size but the villas do need a bit of a face lift. You need to explore other nearby eating places to get variety of food. Staff were very friendly. Lagoon cruise by Koka was very good. Book early as it is popular. Also book the Progressive Dinner night before you arrive as it is extremely popular. Pool and surrounds was very good.
The impression from the booking site was that a swimming beach was nearby. I believe based on what we saw that the better swimming beach was around 15 minutes drive away. The beach at our resort was sandy but there were many rocks throughout the water. Snorkeling at high tide may have been OK if you're a confident swimmer. More about Rarotonga than the resort, but the island needs more transport options. A bus every hour in one direction with another at the same frequency going the other way is not nearly enough for the number of visitors. Make sure you book your hire car before you arrive and be prepared for a minimum hire period of 3 days. Taxis start at $20 pp unless you have a travelling party. The 4WD Safari Tour is expensive for 2 .5 hours without lunch. Better options exist.

Excellent intimate resort. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Nothing is a problem and they are very generous with the facilities, no extras money grabbing. We were a very large group and we had no problems gaining access to and using all the resorts facilities. Very clean rooms and a decent size with good utilities. Good Resturant with very big serving size. Entree size would do most people. Provided us with the most delicious complimentary sandwiches at 2 am in the morning when we arrived.
The buffet breakfast does not vary much from day to day but there was still a good variety of breakfast choice to choose from.

I loved the location and quietness of this property!!! The views were amazing and everything was there.

Loved the ambiance and privacy of our walled villa, even if the private pool was too cold to get in. Spacious room, nicely furnished with delux bath. The staff were incredibly friendly. Very relaxing spot. Included breakfast was great.
Heat in the pool for cool weather use would be a bonus. The wifi wasn't cheap or great.

The location is great - our villa (#5) was right on the beach. The hotel is close to supermarkets and nice cafes/restaurants
The staff was always friendly!
- Food is terrible. Had to wait for an hour for the food to arrive. Asked for vegan spaghetti, confirmed with chef they can make it -> was served spaghetti with cheese.. Non vegan food was not good either..
- Swimming pool - pictures tell everything..
- Blinds were broken in one of the bedrooms (pic attached)-> the outdoor light was coming through the broken area and making it impossible to sleep. We had to cover the window with a towel.
- Noise - there is a big container/box (pic attached) built-in on the wall of one of the bedrooms. It was always very noisy in night making it hard to sleep
- Dirty dishes (pic attached) stayed on the table from 7pm to late afternoon the next day. The table was supposed to be used by guests...we couldn't even stay close to the table since the food leftovers attracted lots of flies and other insects. The table was cleaned only late afternoon the next day
- Beach cleanliness - other hotels in the area would clean the beach of debris, fallen coconuts, pine needles etc. Not our 5-star hotel though....We stayed there for 6 days...the beach was only cleaned when they expected a big birthday celebration...
- Kitchen - out kitchen didn't even have bowls for cereals or smth (pic attached) I had to eat my vegan soup on the 1st night out of a salad bowl (pic attached). Not a biggie BUT I'd expect a 5 star hotel to have basic kitchenware....
- General feel and look - the hotel needs maintenance before it can be called 5 star again. I felt we stayed in a backpacker's place (I have nothing against backpacker's accommodation, stayed in many of them) BUT when you pay for a 5 star hotel I expect certain standards otherwise I'd happily stay in AirBnB or backpackers and pay less=expect less.

excellent room and friendly staff.service very good.
very inflexible with check in and out times. Extortionate rate for a late check out.

great rooms, pool villa was nice.
the breakfast and bar snacks were very poor, I didn’t eat dinner there so can’t comment but thought the kitchen was sub standard for a 5 star resort. I often ate at surrounding hotels as their menu was much better

Breakfast was amazing - fresh and plenty available. Fresh fruit every morning and extra like poached eggs you didn't have to pay extra for.
The birds flying in on your breakfast if your were not there to guard.

Private villas in an adult environment with lovely friendly and helpful staff.

The staff are the biggest asset of the resort.
Because the best restaurant on site is closed at the moment the on-site dining is limited to Oceans restaurant and bar which has a very limited menu, made more so by supply issues. With Flambé being closed it would be good if the menu at Oceans could be upgraded, especially for dinner, maybe having a seperate a la carte menu for the nights when there is not a themed buffet.
The gardens are not as lush as on a previous visit and the whole resort has a tired feel.
WiFi is patchy and you have to pay extra for it. Was unable to use WiFi in our Villa.

The staff at Crown Beach Resort were friendly and helpful where possible and went out of their way to assist us when we had any issues. The location is great - amazing overwater sunset from this side of the island. We stayed in a pool villa and it was perfect for our stay. We were travelling for our honeymoon, so it was great to have a private area to relax and unwind. The breakfast buffet is not a five-star offering but definitely enough for sustenance for the day with both hot and cold options on offer. Would definitely stay here again.
The price point is on the high side compared to other destinations, but we still enjoyed our stay and would stay here again if ever in Rarotonga again.

Loved the resort, the room and the private pool, great facilities and location - a shop just across the road and lovely friendly staff cleaning the rooms.
The restaurant was our only disappointment - although breakfast was included we seldom ate there - just not fresh and yummy enough, Also, not insisting that guests wore masks.

The private villa with the pool was amazing, Location is great and cleanliness was good. Staff in the restaurant were very friendly. Food and Cocktails were great, especially happy hour :)
Breakfast Buffet could of had a bit more variety from day to day. A 2 hour wait at the resort before pick up to go to the airport for flight home made the day very long as we had to be out of our villa at 10, maybe factor an extra 2 hours for departing guests to be able to stay in their rooms until 12 without charging extra.

Room with its own pool is a unique proposition for South Pacific hotels and really great for longer stays - you can easily stay in your own bubble / in own compound if wanting to minimise seeing people.
Staff were excellent!
Food was not at the level expected for cost of this resort but I imagine and hope that is due to the Covid resourcing issues eg bfast scambled and omlettes not at normal cafe level. Main meals mediocre.

A fantastic all round hotel. No children so nice and quiet

Nice beach location with great sunsets. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Wifi is really expensive (compared to other resorts) and off and on, unreliable.
They had also run out of some of fresh food supplies! No fish, bananas or coconuts.
