loved the old building , it’s rooms has been renovated to a high standard. Our room was so comfortable .
Breakfast was well done . There was a sense of a community at breakfast with all guests joining in with conversation.
The location in the old Town couldn’t have been better

Greeting by Ghislain, easy parking, help with luggage, clear explanation of hotel and surrounds. Wonderful old building with character, excellent breakfast
Being English and less laissez faire, we would have preferred our toilet to be in another room, with a door separating the bedroom from the toilet!

Location and parking

The host Gherlain was wonderful, and the property is right in the old town. The building is old on the outside but very well finished on the inside. We really enjoyed connecting with the other travellers each morning at breakfast. This location was also a good central point for day trips to St Malo and Mont St Michele.
About the only thing we didn't like was the stairs. Carting luggage up and down the small spiral staircase was a challenge.

Everythings perfect. The house, the Interieur and last but not least the hosts. We loved it very much. Highly recommand!
Everything was great.

The hosts were incredibly gracious. Cannot be a better location. Beautiful breakfast, lovely common area/salon. If you have trouble with narrow, twisty stairs, be sure to ask for 1er etage room (they help w bags, but the steps above that first level get steep!) We loved our rooms up there! Cannot say enough positive things.
Loved everything about it!

The location was excellent. The history of the hotel. The way it had been tastefully converted to a B&B.. secure parking also included, excellent breakfast. Would definitely recommend it..

Absolutely everything. A flawless experience. Exceptional hosting and facilities, and a fantastic property in a perfect location within beautiful Dinan
Nothing to dislike.

A beautiful historic hotel perfectly situated in an extremely picturesque town. Breakfast was delicious. The staff were helpful and friendly. The bedroom was very comfortable with a beautiful view of the cathedral and town square.
A little more history about the building and it’s restoration

So unique and stylish! I loved everything about this place from the history to the decor. It’s perfect

The hotel is just wow 🤩 Historic building with the coziest interior. Included breakfast was amazing too.
Important notice: in the room “Kampot” the bathroom is not really private😄 Even the toilet doesn’t have no wall or curtain with bedroom.

The location is fantastic. The room was lovely and very clean. Bed was comfortable and the bedding very comfortable and clean. Bottles of water and room replenished every day and if we had a small bag of rubbish that needed removing, they took it and left another little bag in its place. This was nice. (This was I think in place of a normal size room or bathroom bin. There was a small bamboo cylindrical container in the bathroom on the floor but it was very narrow at the top so I didn't put any rubbish in it.) The whole place is beautifully decorated and the building itself is impressive in its age and character. The interior design is very tastefully done. You can see the amount of work put into it.
Overall our stay was lovely. Just one thing let it down. When I was deciding whether to book, I saw pictures of the breakfast table with breakfast laid out on it. It looked plentiful and varied. So we were expecting a pretty nice breakfast. I know not everything you see in pictures may be available which is fair enough, but the breakfasts we received didn't come close to what was represented in the pictures. This was very disappointing. On our first day, we were not offered anything else other than what was laid out already. If you look at the picture of the breakfast table they advertise, there was no cheese, eggs, tart/flan, freshly prepared fruit or avocado. The only fruit they had was a bowl on the sideboard with some whole apples and pears in which looked a little past their best. What was there (apart from the apples and pears) was nice. Some croissants, bread, cold cut meat, yoghurt, preserves and cereal. On the second day, same fare again and again we were not offered anything extra. We travel in France quite a bit and the breakfast food is normally laid out and if there is anything extra, the host would advise us of this. So my husband asked if they could make my 20 month old son some scrambled eggs, which they did do and they were tasty. On the third day, there was some cheese added to where the cold cut meat was and this was very nice. There were now other 3 other guests already at the table eating breakfast when we came in and again we asked for the scrambled eggs. The host then immediately offered it to the other guests sitting at the table who were already half way through their breakfast. To sum it up, I would not expect the breakfast to be exactly like the picture as everything isn't always available, however I would expect that an effort is made for it to be close.

there are steep stairs for some rooms. fine for us. might not be for others

I cannot rate this place highly enough. I would stay here again. The staff where awesome couldn't have been any better experience, the breakfast was incredible. The location is great nice and close to everything. I couldn't think a single bad thing to say about this place. :)

beautiful property with guest living room/coffee/tea/water available at all times; parking garage space included and close; very friendly staff who spoke perfect English; well located to explore on foot.

Beautiful old building - super comfortable beds and magnificent breakfast. I can’t recommend this enough !!

The welcome and staff, Sophie and Ghislain (S & G) were great. Thank you.
Breakfast was a delight with just about everything you could want and even Breton specialities. A long communual table leads to extremely interesting conversations with other guests.
The location right in the centre of Dinan is excellent, near very good restaurants and with a great included underground parking arrangement.
Our one concern is that this is an historic building with 4 stories. The climb to our bedroom on the second floor was via a steep, narrow staircase with a rope one side and a bannister the other. This is fine if you are reasonably active, and S & G were extremely helpful particularly with moving our cases. We stayed for 10 days so it is not that bad but if you are unsteady on your feet check with S & G as there is a room on the first floor.

We enjoyed everything about our stay in this beautiful property. We appreciated the excellent communication, friendliness, and professionalism of our hosts, and we loved the cleanliness and charm of the home. The breakfast was nicely presented with a wide variety of selections. This stay was a highlight of our travels in France and Europe.
There wasn't anything to dislike. Everything here was fantastic.

Excellent location, friendly host, amazing room.
Breakfast was a bit confusing, difficult to make tea/coffee, find tea spoons etc. Everything provided but at different ends of the room.

Nothing it was perfect

Beautiful and nice breakfast set up. There were books for us to know more about the history of the property and Dinan, nice.
Perfect if there was air con.

the welcome, location within the old walls, history of the building, breakfast, very comfortable bed
steep stairs and parking away from the hotel. But you expect both of these with the age of the building and location
4.8
the breakfast was superb. The decor was exceptional. The service was great too.
It's a very minor thing but there is no door to the toilet (it's an open bathroom) so it can be tricky if you want a bit of privacy. There is another toilet in the building everyone can use(with a door, of course!) so it shouldn't be a problem but just mention this in case you are staying with a friend not a partner
