Great for all couples

Location was in the old city and everything was within walking distance. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a good sized bathroom. The Rooftop bar offers great views towards the city and a complimentary drink with your stay. Would recommend.

Great location but noise is an issue

Really lovely property in a great location. Loved the room

Noisy. Had been warned about the bar playing music until 04:00 (and given ear plugs), but wasn’t too bad except when the DJ made everyone scream. But the taxis outside spent half the night beeping their horns angrily at each other as they picked people up from the club- v annoying!

Hôtel incroyable, l’un des meilleurs que j’ai pu faire !

Tout était parfait, la localisation, la chambre hyper spacieuse, la salle de bain très propre et fonctionnel, l’accueil très chaleureux, le personnel avait plein de bons conseils pour optimiser mon séjour, l’ambiance du Rooftop, la décoration, tout était vraiment super !

Le bruit, mais on est prévenu avant de réserver et il y a des bouchons d’oreilles à disposition

Het is heel centraal gelegen en heeft de mogelijkheden om er ook te eten voor zowel ontbijt, lunch of diner.

Door het restaurant onder en de Roofbar kan je enige geluidsoverlast ervaren. Het parkeren van je auto kost zo’n 20 tot 25 dollar per dag in Casco Viejo.

A localização do hotel é muito boa, dá pra conhecer todo o centro histórico andando. À noite é bastante animado e no hotel tem um terraço com música, nos dias de semana até às 2 AM e finais de semana até às 4 AM, com os tampões que o hotel fornece pode-se dormir tranquilo. O restaurante do hotel é muito bonito e a comida muito boa! Os funcionários são prestativos e queridos!

O travesseiro poderia ser melhor e poderiam fornecer uma chaleira elétrica.

Very kind and helpful

Due to protests in Panamá, I was retained in San Blas for two more days than expected so, unfortunately I was not able to check in at the hotel. The hotel, however, refunded me for the night due to unexpected circumstances, which was very nice, since my reservation was non refundable. Hope to come again to Panamá city and stay in this hotel in a near future!

We stayed for one night before catching flight to bocas del toro. It was very nice.

Great hotel in an AMAZING location!

Tantalo is a very cool hotel! It is centrally located in Old Town so there is so much do to just outside of the hotel - really safe, great neighborhood. The hotel itself has a rooftop bar and restaurant and lobby restaurant and bar. Our room was huge and comfy with a neat balcony and everything we needed.

Nothing - I think this a great place if you just have a day or two in Panama City - the location is AMAZING and the hotel is really nice - the value is also incredible. With breakfast included in the price, it is a great deal for what you get!

Lovely boutique hotel in the middle of Casco Viejo!

Great location. Nice restaurant on ground floor. Nice bar on roof. Room was comfortable. Nice staff.

Corridors need to be upgraded. A bit dated.

Stylish but very noisy hotel. Stay here if you don’t want to sleep in your room

Beautifully decorated room and location

The unbearable noise from the roof top bar/ night club which was right above our room. The music and crowd noise went til 4am and we were unable to sleep. The hotel provided ear plugs and sent a message on booking saying there was slight noise from the entertainment district but did not mention their bar was the cause of the extreme noise. Staff were disdainful , refused to admit it was a problem and were reluctant to refund our 2nd night despite their insistence we pay in full on check in on the 1st night. Very disappointing

Great spot with popular rooftop bar

Perfect location in old town. Very comfortable & large bed. Brilliant shower & toiletries provided. Access to popular rooftop bar included...and even a free welcome beer each.

Nothing - but there was minor background noise from the rooftop bar (it was the weekend). Didn't bother us at all but don't expect absolute silence.

An easy and fun way to enjoy Casco Viejo

- Excellent location near all there is to see in Casco Viejo - Free welcome drinks in the rooftop bar - Great, friendly staff who were very helpful and accommodating - Comfortable beds, fast wifi, private balcony, clean room

- Very noisy in the evenings/night due to the rooftop bar, but the hotel does provide ear plugs (lol) - When we asked about parking, they told us it costs $20/day and drove our car to a parking lot for us. However, we later discovered that street parking is free (not on yellow lines tho!)

5 night stay and no complaints!

I loved everything about this hotel. The room was super spacious and the bathroom was well lit. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows were so plush. The people at the front desk were super kind, welcoming and were there at any time of the day ready to assist. The rooftop bar is a party spot on the weekend so the hotel is loud all around with people coming and going. This was fine for us but the hotel provided ear plugs for those sensitive sleepers. When we checked in, we were also given 2 drink tickets which we immediately used at the rooftop. We checked out of the hotel bc we were going to Bocas for the next few days. Since we were only taking our backpacks, I appreciated that the hotel was willing to hold our luggage until we got back. The hotel is super central and near some great restaurants and bars. Absolutely recommend for future guests!

Don’t stay here

DO NOT STAY HERE!! When I made my reservation, I specifically notified them we were arriving early and requested an early check-in. The standard is 3pm and our plane was arriving at 10:30. When we got the Tantalo (around 11:45) Lizbeth was the receptionist waiting on us. We asked to check into our room and she said check-in is 3pm. I said I know that but requested an early check-in on our booking. She looked up the booking and said, “yes, I see it here but our policy is 3pm check-in.” I asked if the room was ready and she said yes but check-in is 3pm. Lizbeth was very rude, unfriendly, impolite, and showed offensive attitude. So, we walked for 3 hours and came back at EXACTLY 3pm. When I said I wanted to check-in Lizbeth came with the same insolent attitude about check-in. I looked her in the eyes and said, “it is 3:02 and I will be checked into my room NOW!!” She reluctantly complied but took the longest time checking us in. They only appear to be interested in bar & restaurant customers, not hotel guests.

Staff’s rudeness and poor attitude, especially Lizbeth.

Fine for one night, wouldn't recommend if you want to actually sleep

The location is fantastic; right in the middle of where you'd want to be. The room aesthetic was interesting, and the room itself was very clean. The free drink at the rooftop bar was also a nice touch.

The bed was not comfortable at all - we were so glad to only be staying one night. We were also kept awake - even with the provided ear plugs - until nearly 3am which was frustrated. I don't think their 80% (or whatever the sound proof percentage of their property that they claim) is accurate.

great location in Old Town and one of the coolest rooms we’ve ever stayed in. very unique and fun atmosphere with a great rooftop bar that has views of the skyline. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Panama.

Perfect Place for One-Night Stay or Longer in Casco Viejo

My husband and I had a one-night layover in Panama City on our way home for our 15-year anniversary trip. Tantalo was perfect for our stay. We were greeted with welcome drinks on arrival. Since we arrived before our check-in time, we were able to store our luggage, eat a delicious lunch at the hotel restaurant, and then explore Casco Viejo. After checking in and freshening up, we went downtown for dinner and a little shopping. Came back and went upstairs to party at the rooftop. Loved the decor, the vibe and the staff! It really was a lovely stay!!

great until the elevator debacle, scared the heck out of me

They could have cared less, the manager NEVER took the time to talk to me about the incident. i was very scared and never got in the elevator agin by myself. I was unable to get to my room to get my water bottle because of this incident so asked the front desk for water and they immediately charged me for it when it was their fault I couldn't get to my room. Rooftop bar Food and drinks were okay. I could definitely hear the loud music from the rooftop bar in my room all night, which didn't bother me but it certainly might bother others. Had to request toilet paper. They never cleaned up the used glasses and plates on the counter.

Place is fun for a drink, but as a hotel poor value for money!

Location and size of the rooms are good!

This hotel is a full on disco till 2am. If you want to go to bed before this time, it’s impossible to go to sleep. You have the feeling your bed is literally next to the speakers on the dance floor. Considering the price they ask for a room, that can only be used after 2pm, it feels like your being robbed.

hello. I would like to obtain reimbursement for the night. this is the worst hotel I have booked ever. I haven't slept all night. It's not a hotel, it's a night club. This should be an obligation to notify customers. my first day of vacation is ruined by this horrible night

Location, room cleanliness, reception, size of the room. We stayed 1 night in panama old Town to check out the nightlife. Great hotel with everything being close by and walking distance. The rooftop bar was also great and super convenient. Everything was on point, would stay again!

There was an insect in the room. I think its because the bldg itself is old.
