Great room, beds, facilities, bike garage, pool, honest bar.

The hotel is a little complex of a few little buildings with each a few rooms that all look different. The room we were in was big enough for 2 people and even had access to a little terrace at ground level. The breakfast was a buffet with a big selection. When booking I asked in advance about gluten-free options (I’m celiac), and they were super helpful (I got my own gluten free bread as soon as I got into the breakfast room). The staff was really nice and we had nice talks.

We arrive shortly before 6pm, we were still welcomed very warmly at the reception.
The very nice lady from there showed us our room too, which looked like the photo they have on the web.
The room was spacious, tidy, comfortable and relaxing.
The breakfast may not be big, but it is more than enough and the quality of what they served were of great caliber.
F-Ritz Hotel, thank you for our lovely stay. See you next time.

The F-Ritz is an absolutely wonderful accommodation with no serious competition when it comes to hotels in Schleswig. This is the logically the best choice in town. Its location is quite sensible, in terms of Schleswig’s challenging geography: the city is not large, population wise, but is extremely spread out in two wings, with the Bahnhof at a central hinge point at the west end of the bay, the cathedral and old town a considerable distance away along the north shore, and the Viking Museum off in the other direction, along the bay’s south side. Being some 750m from the Bahnhof, the F-Ritz is likewise in Schleswig’s middle hinge area: the Viking Museum is a walkable distance east, while buses heading in the other direction, toward the Landesmuseum and the old town, stop regularly (if infrequently) at a Haltestelle right in front of the hotel. The F-Ritz has a clean, Nordic elegance about it, being contemporary but in a comfortable and welcoming way. The rooms are bright, immaculately clean, and abound in natural light. The hotel even offers a grassy area with leisure chairs. I stayed in the junior suite (one of only two rooms with air conditioning) and loved the extra living space that this unit provides. The split-level design is fun and unique, with the upstairs bed/bath arrangement introducing a bit of extra exercise into one’s routine. The kitchen facilities (fridge, microwave, toaster, etc.) proved to be a blessing, as an early train compelled me to cobble together my own breakfast on the final morning of my three-day stay. The staff are excellent: I needed laundry done, and though this isn’t a chain hotel, they readily took care of it. All in all, I had a marvellous time in Schleswig, and the home-away-from-home quality of the F-Ritz contributed greatly to my enjoyment. I would gladly stay here again.
While the hotel’s location makes it possible to trek to the Viking Museum on foot, the 750m distance from the Bahnhof is rather farther than one would prefer, especially when one is encumbered by all of one’s baggage on arrival and departure days. And while I loved the F-Ritz and would recommend it to anyone visiting Schleswig, the hotel does present two significant opportunities for improvement. First, breakfast doesn’t begin until 7:30, which is shockingly late (a full hour after most hotels’ breakfast starts) and severely limits one’s options, time wise, on a travel day. Furthermore, the breakfast itself could certainly be better, currently only featuring boiled eggs, not scrambled, and with no Würstchen or Frikadellen accompaniments. Second, the hotel, quite surprisingly, provided no housekeeping — and this was in the suite (!). While one can certainly survive without housekeeping for a three-day stay, it is nevertheless sorely missed (e.g., I had to make do with just two towels for three days, and with no garbage removal).

Everything about this little room was exceptional and well thought out. The decor, electrical outlets are plentiful and varied, seating area comfortable for two, comfortable bed, very clean. A mini fridge would be nice but for one night in cold weather, it was okay to leave food items in the car.

Property is beautiful. Apartment great size, excellent layout. Lovely bathroom walk in shower. Grounds and pool area green and beautiful. Staff super friendly and helpful. Nice little gym to work out the kinks. Need to take your water though.
Beds were too hard for my wife and I. So didn’t sleep well. A topper would fix that. But of course that’s our personal preference. Others may find it suitable.
