The ultimate castle stay experience. Stunning views. Cleverly designed rooms and great service. Highly recommend a stay, we only wished we could have stayed longer.

even though we were one of 6 couples at the castle we felt like like we were the only ones there. they have a lovely community space and a deck to see all over and we watched an amazing sunset.

Roch Castle is an exceptional property that has been carefully, respectfully, and tastefully renovated into an exceptional hotel. I felt as though I was staying in a piece of history, but with all the modern comforts one could imagine. Not only that, the hotel felt tremendously homely, with staff - who were all exceptional, friendly, and polite - going above and beyond to make sure that I not only felt welcome, but entirely at home.
Nothing. This hotel is incredible and entirely deserving of its 5 star luxury reputation.

lovely conversion to modern rooms keeping style
no evening meal on site

Staff were outstanding and made the whole experience 100% better than expected. Breakfast outstanding, views outstanding and staff more than outstanding. Would I return: in a heartbeat.
A small point is that you have you travel to get an evening meal which was a little inconvenient after a 5 hour car journey. This resulted in a take away fish and chips which was not great given my wife and I were celebration our 40th wedding anniversary.

The staff and facilities are exceptional.

it’s a lovely use of a beautiful historic building. we’d seen many castles and though you think you want to stay in an old one - I’m glad it’s modern, nicely finished and provided just enough castle meets hotel. we had what I’ve read is the best room, great space, towels, bed, breakfast.
lots of stairs but we knew that ! they’d forewarned plenty. a little far from restaurants and pubs but If you’ve got a car not a problem

It’s a real castle! Breakfast was absolutely superb. It’s fabulously renovated and a real treat to stay here.
We didn’t dislike anything.

breakfast was first rate. A fascinating historical building with good modern furnishings. The staff were welcoming, polite and attentive.

Liked the location and the fact that we were able to stay in something that is a piece of history- nice and quiet and as far from city life as you can get! It was useful to have some main shops such as lidl etc not too far away when we needed bits.
We explored the grounds and the inside of the castle - upstairs was lovely and there were some fab views.
Breakfast was good and the staff were very friendly.
The room was not as big as I thought it would be given how much we paid. We also thought that there would be air conditioning- it was lucky that we didn't come during the heat wave. However there was a fan which did help.
The castle is staffed until 7pm and there isn't anyone available after this time, so if you do need anything it is a bit of a hassle.
Also I thought there would be lunch/ dinner options available at the hotel as there weren't too many restaurants nearby that catered for us ( we are vegetarian). This would have been useful.

Breakfast was excellent, very friendly and helpful staff, lovely castle!!
Leaving!! Would have loved to stay few more days!!

Breakfast excellent, Location great. Staff members very good attitude.
Very simply but nicely decorated with a calming, relaxing feel.
In all honesty accommodation if described as a Luxurious B & B then would have been able to rate Roch Castle as excellent
Discerning Travellers who are attracted by the prospect of staying in a castle would not be put off by photographs showing all aspects of the rooms available because there's an expectation that the rooms will be irregular in size, quirky etc.

Breakfast fantastic. Considering the heat wave while we were in Wales our bedroom and breakfast room were very cool. Loved Roch Castle.
No complaints at all.

The staff are friendly and the accommodation was beautiful and the food was great. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful property set in a very picturesque location.
The property was luxurious, peaceful, clean and homely.
The natural materials used to renovate is especially beautiful and the window shutters are adorable.
The sun streaming into the large bathroom was lovely and the double bath a real luxury.
The room decor was very nice and the pillows and bed very comfortable.
There was nothing I disliked, although, not a huge deal but the windows could do with a clean as being able to view the outdoors clearly from our bed would have been nice.

The location, the hotel, the staff, the room absolutely everything was 5 star. We couldn't be happier. In the room a rose on the bed, valentines card and chocolates which was a really lovely touch which we weren't expecting (Valentines). All of the staff were so helpful and friendly, we'd give more than 5 stars if we could. The lounge and sky room are just perfect to chill and look at the incredible view whilst having a drink or reading a book. The breakfast was cooked perfectly. There's not one thing about this stay we could say they could improve. We highly recommend anyone going here as a truly restful break to recharge. Enjoy.

Decor and finish all first class, staff bend over backwards to help and exceedingly friendly.
We relaxed as soon as we went up the drive.
Absolutely nothing!

We absolutely loved everything about this place!
There was very little not to like. Perhaps the fact that there is no lift may be an issue for people with walking difficulties.

Lovely place to stay at
Kept awake all night by banging noise outside noone has got back to me to say what could have caused it

location was great.. the staff, especially Adele, were great and very helpful.. breakfast is fabulous and the place is spotlessly clean
the flag pole, when it’s windy, can knock and keep you awake at night
