The breakfast was outstanding in quality and quantity as well as value for money.

Beautiful property, nice large room, good view, adequate breakfast. Very good value.
Hosts are very kind and helpful. Very quiet location. We would certainly stay again if in the area.
Two armchairs in the room would be good rather than just one and also another small side table to put things on. There is plenty of space!

The Huelguera neighborhood is filled with a quiet mix of single-occupancy houses (may of them Very Old; I believe that this house was built in the early 1800's, and the actual property is several hundred years old) with a few "townhouses" (that's code for connected). Think of a green, lush, pastoral neighborhood with stone walls. Lots of stones. Like, you know, Ireland. There are a few cows wandering around. I said Hi, they answered. They were very pleasant.
This property is connected to a private house on the side, but the connection is not noticeable when inside; no noise! The gardens surrounding both houses are beautiful.
I didn't get to eat breakfast out on the patio (raining; Surprise! Cantabria). That said, the breakfasts were wonderful: home-made bread and biscocho, tomato and oil and/or jam, *excellent* tortilla, fresh fruit, ham, cheese (varied by day), fresh-squeezed orange juice, nice strong coffee.
In spite of the tranquility, the highway is about 5 minutes' drive away and many attractions (Altamira and Castillo caves, Laberinto De Villapresente, Santillana del Mar medieval town) are between 10-25 minutes' drive. Simply driving is wonderful because of the scenery. Make reservations for Castillo cave!
The town (Puente San Miguel) has plenty of places to hang out, eat, etc. For a late-night beer with no frills (it's close, but you still need to drive), try Café Bar Loal. They treated me well.
The bigger town/city, Torrelavega, another 5-10 minutes' drive away, has loads more stuff to do and see (as well as all the more mundane, yet necessary things: all-night pharmacy, supermarkets, etc). Go visit it for sure! Especially Mundo Canalla, if you want to have a stellar burger and dining experience, without having to pay $$$ and wait too long - yet feel like you ate gourmet).
Sofía and José, you are awesome. Thank you both!
I felt like I might wake up the other guests since I had to leave early when I checked out. But that seems like a me-problem.
Actually they packed me a breakfast for the road since I had to leave early. Silver Lining!

The house is a complete joy and I feel lucky to have found it. I cannot recommend it highly enough. The host was amazing. It was a real treat at the end of my trip. The detail that has gone into creating such an exceptionally well designed level of comfort is rare to find. I loved it.

Much of the house was converted back to its original state complete with scars, The room was lovely and comfortable. However, above all, Sofia (the owner) made you feel most welcome throughout your stay. Breakfast was wonderful.

The boutique style contrasted favourably against the clinical corporate hotel chains. Owners and staff were excellent. The rural location was refreshing.

A beautiful house owned by wonderful people. The location was perfect for Santander, close to the main roads but still peaceful. The room was lovely, old and creaky in the best way. Having shutters to open was a treat. Breakfast was perfect. The owners are so helpful but quietly in the background, allowing you to enjoy the house as if it were you own.

Great location, exceptionally clean accommodation with great amenities and very friendly staff. José and Sofia gave us great recommendations for local restaurants and even kindly prepared a picnic bag-to-go for us given that we had to check out early and could not stay around for the lovely breakfast.

Fantastic B&B in a peaceful location, close to arterial roads and also local sites such as Santillana del Mar. Excellent staff, very good breakfast and attention to detail throughout. The house is lovingly converted and filled with objet d'art as well as original works painted by a family member.
The highlight of the stay was eating breakfast outside on the lawn enjoying the garden and bird song relaxing on comfortable furniture with good table linen for that boutique experience.

Everything. The Posada is beautiful, tastefully decorated, many different little touches at every level. Attention to detail everywhere.
Great welcome from Jose.

I rarely give a full 'ten points' to a hotel so I need to explain why. 1. Location. Only a few minutes from the main A8 Cantabria motorway yet a world away from any noise or bustle. Perfect as a stopover on the way to France for us or for a ferry from Santander or as a base to visit the Picos de Europa or Santillana del Mar and the caves around this area. The owners have lots of ideas for visitors.
2. Comfort. Beds were a perfect 10. Rooms large and beautiful. The hotel is a 19th century house and has been gorgeously restored. There is a lovely lounge downstairs with a mini bar, comfy chairs, books and chess. Breakfast was ginormous and kept coming. Lots of choices, from fruit and fresh juice to toast, tortilla, home made cakes and ham.and cheese plus a huge pot if tea each. And first time ever in Spain, a kettle with complimentary tea coffee cakes and chocs in the room. Little things mean a lot.
3. The owners. A full 10 plus for the care and attention given by José to my 90year old mum, even to providing a chair half way up the stairs for her to rest. Nothing was too much trouble and he even missed his football to keep the wood burner alight in the evening so we were cosy playing chess.
On the whole...yup, perfect. We will be back. Thank you José
Absolutely nothing could be better. And that is rare!
