Accommodation was suitable for people with reduced mobility. All on one level with walk in shower with seat and grab rail. Raised height toilet and bed of decent height. Oven and hob were spotlessly clean and general cleaning was of a good standard. We were fully aware that the accommodation would be fairly basic and not luxurious - you get what you pay for, as they say, so we were not disappointed in this respect. Only saw owners briefly, but they seemed very pleasant and welcoming. They had prepared a different gite for us, one that would not be suitable for my needs, but this wasn't their fault - they acted purely on the booking they received from Booking.com, which didn't specify our requirements unfortunately. This was rectified without any fuss and was appreciated. The pool area was very clean and well maintained. I could not use the pool as it only had ladder access (which I already knew and accepted), but my partner said it was very nice for cooling off in the unusually hot weather we experienced for much of our stay.
The site was very, very quiet. We knew that the bar and restaurant would not be open when we visited in June, but apart from one occasion, my partner never saw a soul at the pool apart from the owner's son and his daughters. The pool was closed for maintenance on the last couple of days of our holiday. There was no pre-warning of this. As it happens, the weather wasn't great for those days, so it wasn't a huge issue, but it would have been nice to know in advance. I don't think it was closed because of a sudden problem, more to make sure it was ready for high season. There was an itinerary check list for the accommodation and we have never experienced such an exhaustive list before, even when renting furnished living accommodation in the past at home in the UK. There was even a charge listed for each item should it be lost/damaged/broken. Perhaps the owners have had bad experiences with other holiday makers in the past, but I would personally have preferred for any such possible losses to be factored into the price of the accommodation as I think generally happens. The security deposit of 300 euros ought to cover most eventualities. This may now be the normal practice for self catering accommodation in France; it just made us feel a little uncomfortable.

Our family spent a lovely Easter weekend staying in one of the villas. The property was clean and well-equipped. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, giving us lots of useful local information. The grounds were fantastic, with so many games and activities to keep us all occupied. We enjoyed a beautiful loop walk to the nearby chateau de Gavaudun. A lovely spot, highly recommended, we’d be happy to stay there again.
There were a few extra charges (eg. for linen, cleaning, washing) to be aware of when budgeting for a stay at the property.
