Palmetto feels like home away from home! It has a small living room 2 kitchen areas that are shared. A very nice back yard. With swing chairs, and many areas to relax, read or hang out. Paco the parrot was so eager to interact . The room is comfortable and the shower was nice. The owners are friendly and if you need anything they will help right away. The price was also good. We stayed in the family room.
Needed a little better upkeep. This is my 3rd time staying there and the first time I find something not perfect. But the owners were sick so it’s understandable. The backyard needed a sweep from leaves. Which I did myself. Just because that’s what I would do if it was my house LOL. And just general details that could be better. Overall it was good and we will definitely be back.

Location was walkable, close to the airport and some car/golf cart rental places. Common kitchen for coffee and water bottles available.
They were a little unorganized due to a family emergency, so we understood but there was some mixup at check-in regarding availability. However they corrected the situation in about an hour and we got the original room. The room was not dirty per se, but it could've been a little cleaner. We passed it off as them just having a bad week due to their emergency, based on the other reviews. We did not think the room cost matched the value we got.

It is very close to the Culebra's Ferry. Very organized, quiet, and clean. The owners are very kind and responsible. The place is very comfortable and quiet. You can enjoy its environment that connects you with nature.
I loved it! ❤️ I already reserved it, to go again in summer! ☀️

There was a community dining area and small kitchen. Food can become expensive with a family of 5, it was nice to be able to save $ by having left overs or making sandwiches.
Nothing, fair price for value

I feel quite bad writing this review, but I also need to be honest for future travelers. I'm going to start with the positives:
The hosts were superb and could not make me feel any more welcome. They enthusiastically went over a map telling me all the best places to go and eat. They were really helpful with any questions I had about the island, and even let me keep the key to my room on the day of check out till my flight at 5pm so I could use the bathroom and store my things. The bed was comfy and the shower powerful with hot water. Air conditioner was noisy, but did the job just fine. The guesthouse is in a good location far enough from the main area to be quiet. A few minutes walk down the road is Carlos Jeep Rental and a supermarket with everything you would need at a decent price.
I suppose it depends what you're looking for. If you want a true feeling of island life and are happy roughing it then this is perfect. If you're a bit of a stickler for cleanliness then I would avoid. I feel like I must finish with the fact that the hosts are what make this place and have never been somewhere more welcoming. Saying that though they would need to do a full deep clean of the place and get it back to what the photos look like for me to stay again.
However, now the negatives. The guesthouse does not look like what it does in the photos which were taken several years ago by the looks of it. I appreciate that this is a small island with a simple lifestyle, but the property was a little too 'island life' for me. The room was very small with nowhere to store anything. This was fine as I was traveling solo, but two people would really struggle. There are marks all over the ceiling from damp, calcium build up all over the bathroom taps, and old painted and dirty furniture. The sheets however were clean although you could tell they were old. The shared areas were filthy. The cooker had dirt all over it and the sides and all utensils were sticky. I should point out that I am a bit OCD and have a thing for cleanliness, but I would rather spend a fortune eating out every night than cook there. It needed a total deep clean. Also, there are no smoking signs but I think the owners smoke so there's a smell that lingers. The garden also does not look like the photos and needs clearing.
I have a feeling that the positive reviews are from regulars that have become the owners friends as all other guests knew them personally. One guest had known them for 30 years. I appreciate that this is a 'home style' guesthouse/hostel, but out of all the 5 places I stayed whilst in Puerto Rico, this was one of the most expensive and the worst conditions.

The owners were friendly and accommodating.
Can't throw toilet paper into toilet. The room and bathroom are tiny. Common kitchens are dusty.
4.1
The house has two kitchens, that are both well equipped. The basics are there to share (salt, oil, coffee..).
There was a fridge in the room, which is very convenient. Water in the shower was hot. Nice little garden with lots of shade.
Supermarket is only 5 mins away (walking).
They do rent bikes, which is nice if you do not want to rent a car
no real closet to put my clothes (just a small shelf in the bathroom)
- overall cleanness could be improved

it was close to everything.
n comparison to all the stays we’ve been to (including hostels, hotels, guesthouses) this was by far the dirtiest of all of them within our 2 week stay in Puerto Rico. surfaces were dusty and sticky. also it was the first time seeing a cockroach in Puerto Rico and this one even in the kitchen (on the coffee machine and floor). didn’t really feel comfortable staying there would not come back.
on top the host wasn’t really welcoming to us also compared to all other places we’ve been to in Puerto Rico.
if you’re just searching for an overnight stay and don’t really care about a tidy place then this might be ok for you :)

The location was the best.
The Family room was used and the fitthed bed was dirty and not smell clean. I have puctires and videos. Many sand on the bed that was obvious that was used. Dead Roaches under the bed with human hairs that is evident that not swept. Many cockroaches all sizes. Flying on all parts and walking on my bed, wall, floor, refrigerator. Many dust accumulated on the fans giving nasal allergy and lost a night because preferred return to our home.

The position was good, and the structure was nice. The owners were very kind and helpful.
The room was really small for 2 people, with almost no place to put things. There was no cleaning service in the room, which was fine, but there were also no things to clean ourselves, which ended up having a very dirty room after 2 days (sand mostly)..

It was great. They are very nice people, location is great, room size great and very comfortable.
I would give them 7 out 10 to cleaning. They are great, but that is something I pay attention.

Great hospitality from hosts.

Adorable guest house! We really enjoyed staying here and meeting Kate(our host). Kate was super nice and helpful, god bless her heart! The house is very cute, tasteful decorated, quiet, and peaceful. Has everything you need for a long or short stay. We rented a golf cart while there and it was perfect. The gold place is right there and was easy rent and return. Playa Flamenco is only minutes away by golf cart. We loved our stay there and would return in a heartbeat. Thank you so much for your hospitality Kate!

The guest house was only a 3-5 minute walk from the single runway airport.. The hosts are a warm and engaging transplanted couple from Oregon who go out of their way to make your visit a memorable one. I enjoyed our conversation on my last day on the back patio which has a garden with palm trees, chickens and roosters roaming about, and plenty of lounge chairs and a hammock to while away in relaxation. It is very quiet at night as you are well off the main road, and my room, although not spacious, was clean and quiet. Most importantly, the bed was very comfortable so I slept great both nights I was there. The shower was terrific, and tea or coffee was complimentary. It was a comfortable 10 minute walk into town where there are places to eat, but be forewarned, restaurants and cafes are open or closed at random times. Renting a golf cart is the best way to get around, and as the island is only 7 miles long by 4 miles wide, it doesn't take long to get anywhere. Flamenco beach and other beaches are beautiful, and unlike most populer beaches in the world, these were not crowded. You can always find a secluded area to enjoy.
4.1
Beautiful garden, nice shared areas, a lot of board games, bike rental available, beautiful house colours and nicely decorated, friendly and helpful owners.
Too small room, too noisy from early in the morning because not sound proof. Culturally not use to cameras watching you.
4.1
Good place to meet other guests - the common kitchen & backyard.
The place should be cleaner.

Kate was an incredibly kind, accommodating and generous host. We enjoyed every second of our stay. The people we met there were also very friendly and giving. We have been to Culebra many times before, but this by far has been the most memorable.

Friendly staff and a good area. They provided beach towels, a map of Culebra, and area kitchenette.
One of the room's ACs was a little faulty.
4.1
Great location, great owners. Good air-conditioning in the rooms, private refrigerator. Free coffee was appreciated! Free beach chairs/coolers to borrow although dated/dirty. Affordable option!
Hot Water pressure was super low that i could barely take a shower. The toilet wouldnt flush at all. I saw a roach in the shower. Bed was sagging. Garden was in middle of renovation. Dated property overall. I wasnt expecting much but still disappointing.

Near the airport and very friendly owners
