Holy moly what a place this is! We stayed in the treehouse with the jacuzzi and it was magical! The views from the treehouse are great and it's such an awesome feeling being amongst the birds. The beds are super comfy and fans work super well. The outside shower was amazing! The dinner was also good and reasonably priced, the breakfast was absolutely amazing! The food was good but the best thing was the amount of animals around this early. They put some fresh fruit by the lake and it's a bird watchers paradise! We could honestly stay there for hours just watching and snapping photos. Toucan's, kingfisher's, Egret's, Herron's, Parakeet's, Akari's and so so many more. The jacuzzi was a nice touch which we enjoyed at night time. The wilderness of this place is also super nice as it's across a river.
We did love this place so I'm still giving it a 9, but we did pay an incredible amount of money to stay in our treehouse so I'm going to be super picky here, as I expect a perfect stay for the price: Some bad things:
- The hiking trail around the complex is not very well sign posted. We ran into a few lost hikers unable to find the trail.
- We weren't informed we could leave our bags at our treehouse on check out and get an ATV to pick it up for us, so I carried it to the reception which was hard as the roads are gravel so unable to push along.
- We were not given a flashlight which is essential as it's pitch black at night and we needed to walk 10 mins to dinner. Upon telling reception they seemed to insinuate I'd lost it which was very annoying.
- Breakfast seemed to be starting the cleanup around 20 mins early which doesn't seem like much but it's only on for 1.5 hours so if you don't come early you may miss out on coffee and some food
- We weren't told how to drain the jacuzzi so we thought it was broken. It isn't a simple plug, you need to walk down to the bottom of the treehouse and open another valve which is just not clear at all.
- They added a tour onto my final bill just because I spoke with them about the possibility of doing it. In future only add tours if people have booked.

Location is breathtaking. Staff wonderful knowledgeable and friendly. Great kayak tour with Jose and jungle walk with Stephen. Stunning treetop house to wake up in and the best breakfast omelettes ever by Dulce. Love the environment positive approach to everything.

Not enough monkeys

Everything! We had a fantastic stay in the jungle. The night walk and farm tour were a great experience, food was very good and the overall location was just what we hoped for.
Nothing. It was perfekt!

Treehouse was wonderful, waking up to spider monkeys in the trees outside our room and chorus of the jungle. The food and staff were both great and the boat trip/jungle tour were great ways to see lots of wildlife and interesting plants/trees. Unforgettable experience.
Nothing.

We got to see several unique animals such as monkeys and a white nosed coatimundi. The breakfast was amazing and some of the staff were very friendly. Lastly, the lodge itself was very beautiful.
I assumed since the treehouse was the in the middle of the woods, the beautiful view was one seen through glass but instead I was shocked to see the only thing between us and outside was screen. Unfortunately, there must have also been a hole in the screen because our room was flooded with bugs and on our way down to dinner we came face to face with hundreds of tiny yellow spiders that had built webs from our door to the stairs so we had to skip the meal. Needless to say our night was a nightmare with rude staff, a very hot room due to the one fan and screen covering that let’s the air out, and a bug infested nightmare. While I completely understand that we were in a place where seeing a bug is expected, the multitude of bugs we had in our room was ridiculous. Not worth the price at all due to half of the staff, all the walking, the bugs, and the heat. Picture sheets covered tiny black specks and then looking closer to see they are all dead bugs. P.S. not even bug spray helped. So glad we only stayed one night even though we tried to leave before the night was over. Sucks that our Uber couldn’t make it until morning.

Was very surprised by how large and extensive this hotel was. The whole property was beautiful and our room had amazing views of the small lake nearby. There were gorgeous rainforest walks and plenty of opportunity to see local wildlife. You feel very immersed within nature at this hotel. There is also a variety of tours that they offer to show you the local area and wildlife. The property has its own farm and operates very sustainably. It was a beautiful experience that I would love to do again. I especially liked the spa treatments that they do on your balcony.
It is very hard to eat/leave the property as you have to cross the river to get to the car park/roads/town. That means that you are sort of forced to eat and drink in their restaurant and bar. This means that your overall stay can become rather expensive.

Superb surroundings, abundant opportunities for wildlife viewing in a comfortable setting.
Nothing.

We liked everything - from the moment we arrived and parked our car, took the boat to cross to the ecolodge. Finding our treehouse. Exploring the trails, kayaking, night walk with Steven and boat trip with Steven and eagle eye Johnny.
Nothing to complain about really. It was a bit cold for swimming but we did hang by the pool and our kids swam. I would say the facilities by the pool could do with some improvement e.g. a few more sun beds.

We stayed in a treehouse away from the main buildings. it’s so private and beautifully finished. I could have stayed in the room for the duration of our stay. We ventured out on the boat trip where the expert guides found crocodiles, caiman, howler and spider monkeys, iguanas and a huge variety of bird life. We also used the canoes on the lake which was great fun.
leaving it!

The hotel lies in the forest, you cannot be closer to nature than that! All the staff members were very helpful and warm! You can also have a walk in the hotel area, it's very large. Our room had an outdoor shower as well, one of my dearest memories from our trip:) The breakfast was also very-very good!
It's located in the middle of the forest and the route there is very tiring (17 km 75 mins, definitely requires at least an SUV), but still worthed it!

This really is an amazing spot with fantastic staff.

We only had the opportunity to stay for one night in a treehouse but what an experience! Especially if you are someone who likes to sleep with white or nature noice. The staff is excellent. Especially the waiters at the restaurant. Sitting next to the lake in the restaurant with really good food watching the birds is an experience on its own. 15 km bumpy road was fun. There's no traffic so you can zigzag.
You could argue about wanting wifi in the treehouses or cabins. Probably it should stay the way it is now.

outstanding experience to stay in the tree house. very polite staff. room rate includes guided nature walk and kanu rides, both very recommendable activities.
Relatively low variety in breakfast a la carte menu. No free drinking water in the room or restaurant.

Restaurant food, treehouse, friendly staff, lounge areas, remote location - everything was very good. Perfect if you want to be peaceful and in tranquility.

Our treehouse was amazing. The outdoor shower was a great feature. Howler monkeys passed our treehouse in close sight and we saw little crocodiles in the swamp. Nice staff.

Beautiful and relaxing place sorrounded by nature, staffed by friendly people! A great quiet place to relax, enjoy the forrest and be apart from the noise of the modern world!

Nature everywhere! We stayed at the Almendro tree house and loved the exuberant sounds of nature during the day and night. We were very high up on the tree tops and felt like we were sleeping on the treess!

From the moment you take the boat across to where the lodge is situated, you know you are going to have a special experience. Wonderful staff and an amazing place to birdwatch. The tree house rooms were a unique. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and the tours well organised. The food was reasonably priced and well prepared. Highly recommended if you enjoy close access to nature!!
