Lovely hotel, stayed on the last night of our Iceland trip with my girlfriend. Booked the suite (with the bathtub in the bedroom). The spa & fitness were really nice.
The restaurant was amazing and quite fairly priced for Iceland standards.
I must say the equipment is a little outdated & faulty: the bathtub water drain cap could not be reopened; the dimming lights in the room flickered constantly or stayed only dim. The hot water had a sulfur odor, quite unpleasant.
The restaurant service was a little slow because the poor receptionist was also a waitress.

beyond expectations
Too far from city center

The hotel is at a beautiful small lake, unfortunately you cant walk around it as there is a lot of private property. We did not eat breakfast there, tried out the restaurant but it was less good than I expected in that price range. Driving to Reykjavik took approx. 20 minutes but we knew when we booked it.
The hotel has been renovated some time in the past. The decor was a mixture from older stuff and newer stuff this gave the hotel a unclear look.

We liked the layout of the room - it was nice having 3 single beds in the first room and the double bed in a separate area. We had a lovely dinner in the restaurant the first night we arrived. A pretty view of the lake from the restaurant and our room.
It was very warm in the room when we arrived but we weren't able to open the windows the first night we got there because there were so many bugs outside. The next 2 nights were better because we could open the windows.

High-quality hotel located nearby a lake in Reykjavik. Services include Spa and an excellent restaurant. Personnel is friendly and helpful in solving any problems.

I had a room upgrade which was lovely! I really enjoyed the family atmosphere of this relatively small family-run hotel. It's a very short drive from Reykjavik, but it is also completed secluded, zero traffic noise, and opens directly onto a lake. Good value too.

Super friendly staff. Hard working cleaning crew and breakfast staff. Lots of yummy choices at breakfast. Loved the kitchy decor. Loved big windows overlooking lake. Comfy beds. Hot hot tub. Beautifully updated bathroom. Nice welcome touch leaving chocolates for us. Lovely lobby areas to hang out and enjoy the view.

The careful interior design, the simple but superb breakfast, the comfortable bed, the amazing view, you name it… Just awesome! Hope I will come back.

The shower was very beautiful and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is very rich and there’s something for every taste. Peaceful surroundings with a nearby lake.
The curtains were very badly hung and they barely kept the light out, which is fundamental in Icelandic summers. There were sudden loud noises in the early morning (sounded like electrical working) which woke us up.

beautiful location and a lovely room
they kept forgetting to replace things like towels or coffee cups when removing them to be cleaned

The room was big and clean and with a nice view.

The room temperature cannot be controlled by guests, it was uncomfortably warm and led to minimal sleep.

Modern hotel rooms, great shower, lovely interior decor, great views from room and restaurant. Picturesque lake nearby. Pleasant staff. Convenient for early start to airport and close to Reykjavík with rental car.
Room heating was a little high for personal preference, limited menu choice for evening meal, but food was good. Suggest outside arrival area needs to be brought up to same standard as interior.

large rooms that were separate from where our daughter slept.
The hot water smelt really funny (eggy) which put me off. this was the only thing I didn’t like. room needed updating but perfectly adequate for what we needed.
