We recently had the pleasure of staying at Residenze al Castello Apartments during our visit to Cagliari, and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. Nestled in the heart of the picturesque Cagliari Old Town, this charming apartment provided us with a delightful and memorable experience.
Upon entering the apartment, we were immediately struck by its warm and inviting atmosphere. The rustic wooden floors, along with the wooden beams adorning the walls and ceiling, added a touch of character and coziness to the space. It truly felt like a private loft apartment, making us feel right at home.
The comfort of the beds was ensured a restful night's sleep! The small pantry was thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed.
The host of Residenze al Castello Apartments went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Their incredible helpfulness and flexibility, demonstrated through their assistance with both check-in and taxi bookings, made us feel truly cared for. Their friendly demeanor enhanced our overall experience.
One of the greatest advantages of this accommodation was its convenient location. Being within walking distance of the city center and numerous restaurants allowed us to easily immerse ourselves in the vibrant atmosphere of Cagliari.
Our only regret is not having stayed at Residenze al Castello Apartments for a longer duration. The combination of its prime location, comfortable amenities, and welcoming ambiance made it an ideal base for our stay in Cagliari

Fantastic location in the Castello walls we loved the small local bus that drove through the city gates. Great local trattoria and coffee bar . Had cooking facilities food markets are incredible in Sardinia
Could have had olive oil and salt and a kitchen towel these are basic when you provide kitchen facilities . Lots of steps and walking it was fine for us but not everyone can do this

The place is in a lovely area, a short walk from the archeological museum and the cathedral. It is a beautiful old building and the room we were in was quite spacious. We had dishes and utensils in the kitchen area, there was a small fridge and a stove top. The bathroom was nice. The bed was comfortable.
Although limited from neighbouring buildings, the view was lovely too. There was a common room with free coffee and tea. We were also thankful to be allowed to keep our luggage there after checking out, as we had almost a full day in the city and wanted to continue to explore.
Although the area is a quiet one, the building, unfortunately wasn't. The walls were so thin that we could hear every conversation that our neighbours were having. We couldn't sleep very well 3 out of 4 nights because of that. We did complain and they were asked to keep the noise down, but even only them coming back and unlocking their door at 2.30 am was so loud in the echoey corridor, that it woke us up. In general, this is a big issue for light sleepers and, in my opinion, should be dealt with and the rooms should be sound proofed much better, as not being able to sleep did ruin parts of our vacation.
There were some minor issues with cleanliness - the dishes weren't really clean so we had to wash them before use. I was surprised not to find a kettle (but, to be fair, there is one in the common room that can be used by everyone).

proeprty need definitely renovation. the last makeover looks like made the end of 90’s. … and the shower was broken!

Excellent central location. Close to the bus stop and restaurants and bars. Outstanding window views from the top apartments. Great place if you want to feel a bit like a resident of Cagliari.
A hairdryer or an iron, toiletries on a request.
Blocked sink in the kitchen

Location was great, apartment was beautiful and clean. Great view

Great location, close to most of the sights worth seeing.
Contessa's bathroom door needs repair.

Gorgeous view looking out to the sea (Dama apartment)
Big spacious rooms (one for bedroom/sofabed, one for kitchen/dining, one for bathroom).
Walking distance to old city attractions - cathedral, bastion, marina with restaurants, shopping area.
Nice atmosphere to live in the old city with narrow streets
Easily reachable by public transport - train and bus. A few minutes walk from the bus stop to the apartment. Need to climb up a few stairs and walk downhill. So if you are bringing heavy luggage, it may be wise to take a taxi to drop off outside the apartment.
Easy instructions for property entrance (via door code) and lockbox for keys to apartment.
Host easily contactable via Whatsapp or Booking.com if required.
2 separate air conditioning units - one in the bedroom and one in the kitchen.
Apartment is on a hill and it is reachable from the airport by train and bus (number 7 or 8) or taxi. Train ticket from the airport to city is EUR1.30 (6min ride) and 90 min bus ticket is EUR1.30 (10min ride). Bus stop to catch the bus is just outside the train station. Use Google maps for actual bus stop locations. Google map offered a bus option to/from the airport but it wasn't very clear at the actual bus stop (ie. bus timetable did not include it) whether this option existed and the locals told us to use the train service.
We only had a day in Cagliari so we got the 24 ticket (EUR3.30) for transfers to the apartment, visit to Poetto beach, and natural reserve with flamingoes.
Furniture was a bit sparse for the room size.
Lighting in rooms were dim and one of the side bedroom lamp was not working.
There was a whistling kettle available, but would have preferred an electric kettle (faster boil).
No knives in kitchen so it wasn't really a kitchen to be used for cooking large meals but sufficient for preparing breakfast.
No lifts to upper floors (this wasn't a problem for us but would be a consideration for those with heavy luggage and mobility issues)
There is space to put your luggage to collect another time, but it is not a secure/locked room (we didn't have any issues with this arrangement. The risk of theft would be low since entrance to the property is only via door code and there aren't many apartments in the building).

Loved it, location, views etc. We were on the top floor which was spectacular with views etc but had to climb plenty of stairs but we knew that before going. great central base to see the town. Can't be faulted in any way.
Can't see how improvements could be made. Bathroom was small but sufficient, however a little bigger maybe but by no means a put off. Would love to put it in the category of "love to go back" and I would but it would have to be before a certain age because of the stairs. Cagliari is beautiful, but again, loads of steps, worth a visit for everyone up to a certain upper age

This apartment was beautiful and spacious. Amazing views of city, made us want to stay in every evening to watch the sunset. Excellent location in the beautiful Castello district, felt safe and was quiet, yet only 5/10 mins from the sociable town centre.
4.3
Very spacious, nice views, quite cool although being a rooftop apartment.
Small bathroom, but hard to change that in a historic building
4.3
Beautiful rustic apartment with lovely view from ceiling to floor windows opening out onto narrow balcony. It felt as though the outside came into the upstairs bedroom. Apartment much bigger than I thought consisting of a sitting/dining room with kitchenette and bathroom then stairs up to the real deal! A huge bedroom with those amazing views, a settee and large table to sit around, plus a small second bathroom. The most incredible wooden pitched ceiling too
It was all lovely but those not so mobile might find 3 flights of stairs daunting. Worth it for view and to be honest ALL of Castello is very steep! Be warned - Cagliari is a fabulous city but narrow vertiginous streets.

Great location, spacious, nice views. Impressive building and inner construction. Get yourself tired enough to sleep well and not hear everything around. Convenient public parking available nearby.
Shower curtain was poorly placed: too much on one side, not enough on the other. All I was worried about was soaking the feature historical wooden floor…
Tiny shower basin, lukewarm water, med pressure.
We requested two beds, the second one was a sofa bed whose bottom/feet area was higher than the head. And with the cushions, every few hours I’d wake up from frozen shoulders and my friend who was sleeping on the bed but with the same cushions, ended up with torticolis.
Every time someone goes up the stairs one had the impression of an earthquake, never mind hearing the neighbors conversations.
I didn’t have internet the days prior to checkin and apparently the managing co sent communication which never reached me. Would advise they be sent upon reserving, along with the guest registration form: they said I had an sms but I never did…
Ref parking: we asked if where we parked was ok. It was funny that the managing person a) could not provide info and b) said they’d revert the next day (when we were already gone) to inform if the spot was actually suitable. Advice: inform yourself prior to arrival.

Very nice apartment in a beautiful place. Near the center. Very clean and quiet. Really great.

The room was huge and clean, bed the most comfortable I slept on in Cagliari. Great host, answered promptly to my questions. Would stay there again.
If you are with many bags, remember, you have to walk a bit up to get there :-)
Not so many guests in that place so I was confused when I got a family just next to my room and I could hear all their conversations. Walls are thick, but still somehow you can hear everything.
Having some tea bags would be appreciated. There was only sugar in the kitchen.
4.3
Absolutely stunning room, we had a beautiful bedroom with a gorgeous view and a separate kitchen and really cute bathroom. A mosquito net over the bed would have been stunning and could have allowed us to leave the window open. It might be something to consider for people like me who get eaten alive by them.
It was a little away from the bars and restaurants, about 15 minutes walk uphill. There is a lift some of the way but still quite a hike. Absolutely worth it though if you're staying for longer than a day like we were.
4.3
It was so clean, well kept and simply amazing...would so come back here in a heart beat...clean, tidy and so much better then expected.
Omg there was absolutely nothing that you could say bad about this place.

Great location, nice and clean room. Kitchen was well equiped and clean too. The view from the room on sunsets was magnifique.
The system of self-taking the rubbish out of the room was a bit unusal.
4.3
It is a huge apartment so you feel you have a lot of space, with everything you need, you can cook and eat there the balcony is lovely and the building gives you definitely a old-town historical vibes.

Great location in the center of the city, nice appartment
Some things in the appartement would need to be fixed, for example the bed was soo noisy - even at the slight turn the bed was creaking and the shower was not ok. You have to find parking space in the neighboring streets everytime you go around with your car.

All the doors don't work properly. The bathroom is too tiny and uncomfortable.

Very big apartment, clean, in the heart of historic city center. Very recommend to stay here for a weekend.

It was very easy to engage with the host and get the keys. Great location, quiet and romantic. Amazing view, you can observe sunsets from the window. Comfy bed with great pillows. Clean and spacious apartment. Loved the old pavement and the whole building's historical look. Thank you Georgina for all your help...Hope to come back soon;)
would be great to have more kitchen utensils
