hotel with the perfect location! incredible bungalows. They offer a fourth support while check in is not ready
the price. Despite being an incredible experience, I don't think it's worth the price of the room. very expensive

The breakfasts were excellent and there were always healthy choices like fresh vegetables.
The place is over the top expensive. It is not a place that most people can go without going into some debt.

Everything was perfect, especially considering we were there with children, and they were always super helpful and comprehensive. They tried to find the best solution for both other guests and our family with kids.
The room we had was recently renovated to excellent standards: authenticity with luxury. Super quiet. Tons of space. Endless views. Privacy, etc.
We appreciated a lot the little attentions and the kindness & authenticity of the staff. There is so much charm everywhere: The main restaurant is super cozy high up in the trees, the staff does everything by bike instead of golf carts, etc.
Unlike other luxury resorts, we did not have the impression they were trying to squeeze every dollar out of us.
We stayed here 5 nights and wished we could have stayed a couple more days as 5 felt too short :)

Beautiful setting, serene and calming.
Not enough food selections if staying more than 4-5 days. Kinda before repetitive.

Amazing place--expensive but worth every dollar. Snorkeling by the coral garden, and kayaking to the nearby motus, were one of the best experiences of our lives.

Nature there is perfect. Water color is wonderful, coral garden is magic. For every place you look you will be surprised.
Bungalow is well designed and super clean. We enjoyed the courtesy room that the front desk provided to us after check out for taking a shower and changing our clothes.
Some employees of the restaurants and close to the pool don't speak English very well.
Wi fi signal could be better too.

From the moment we arrived and we’re greeted by the GM, to the moment we left feeling like family, Le Tahaa is the perfect Bora Bora honeymoon spot. With their industry leading innovations to preserve the environment, Le Tahaa has set the bar for 5-Star luxury with out the feeling they are trying to nickel and dime your for every little thing. I have never met such a wonderful staff, every employee loves their job and loves the island. Everything is so well maintained and perfect everyday! The authentic local food served by the pool is to die for. A special thanks to Moehau, Herenui, and Moana Faua for making our visit extra memorable. We will back soon!!!
Communication before arrival was lacking.

Accommodations, food, and staff were great.
The food choices were a little limited and began to feel repetitive after a few days.

What a place! what a place! I almost hesitate to give too much information here because I read some things but not too much and fell in love with the whole package when we got there. We haven't stayed in 5 star places much but this (and it's hard to say) I think is worth it (the $$; it is an extravagance, but still... it's such fantasy) and I would come back here again and recommend it to friends and family. We stayed for 2 nights; arrived on the hotel boat from the airport, were welcomed by Laurent, the lovely general manager (very white lotus-y), and shown to our overwater bungalow - which even though you see all the pictures and videos, blows you away... such opulence seems like it shouldn't be allowed... but it's still so nice. The place has a classy charm that is stylish and extremely well done without being over the top or ridiculously perfect - the aesthetic was French and Polynesian and classic.
Highlights:
- Breakfast - come hungry!! love the oeufs a la coq station; everything was great, I only wish i could eat three meals instead of one each time.
- Staff - everyone, the workers, Christine at the gift shop, Laurent the manager, were very friendly and super nice. Say "io ra-na" and you'll get one back from everyone.
- Coral garden next door - quite a unique Disney snorkeling ride. You walk across the inslet to the north motu (small island) and walk along the inlet away from the hotel and towards the reef and then hop in and let the current pull you along as you marvel at the colorful fish and reef all around you - you will get scratched just FYI, so cover yourself as you feel comfortable and try to go a high tide, saw so many fish, an octopus, others saw rays in the sandy end part, but the main attraction are the colorful small fish everywhere just looking at you tamely as you float by.
- Polynesian show on Tuesday night was really fun; the buffet was very extravagant too.
Nothing for us; others said the place was dated; maybe we don't frequent the four seasons or the like often (ever) but I couldn't fathom what they meant - it's not cookie cutter and okay I can tell that some of the wooden tables in the room are not brand new, but really?
Other small things that are not negative but just observations - may be obvious to say, but meals are expensive - everything has to be brought in of course from elsewhere; plan for $60-100pp for dinner easily, $30-60 for lunch (yummy lunch). You can have own drinks in room fridge and get ice from the ice machine. Too many plastic single use water bottles IMO - you get 4+ delivered to your room/day when the tap water is totally fine; we just left ours and hopefully they get back in circulation.
I'll put some more positives here: swimming from your deck each morning before breakfast on the crazy light blue sandy waters is such a luxury); sunrise also amazing (be early for sunrise and stay late for sunset are my tips). We enjoyed the loop walk around the island. We heard the spa/massages were great. Didn't really use the pool much (at all) given the ocean around us and the coral garden too... Would return for another stay some day I think.

I agree with earlier commenters. Save this stop for last, as resorts on other islands will disappoint by comparison. In particular, the value proposition is considerably higher here than at Bora Bora hotels.

- Location is just amazing. Beautiful and calm.
- If you're into snorkeling, they are plenty spot walkable/swimmable directly from the hotel.
- The hotel doesn't have too many guests, and it's mostly couples anyway, so it's perfect for a honeymoon.
- Plenty of activities available in the area.
- WiFi was pretty much inexistent...luckily, this is not a place where you need it much.
- We only stayed for 4 nights, but if it would have been a week, I might have ended up eating the same thing twice, which is a shame for a Relais & Chateau place. Not a lack of choice, more like a lack of variety.
- Cocktails are too big, too sweet, and too expensive ($20 each). Cancun vibe, no thanks...stick to the cheaper and better Flavored Rum and Classic Ti'Punch. Makes me want to open a proper Tiki Bar in Taha'a, where they have all the best ingredients already!
- If you're getting a beach room, try to ask for the one further down the path. The first ones have view on the overwater bungalows and the beach access is not that great...

not too many options for dinning, only two restaurants, one needed reservations,

Fantastic holiday first class service & staff Highly recommend
Personally With the coral reef there are many guests who had never Snorkelled or understood the sensitivity of the reef I would highly recommend having a staff from the hotel at the reef site at all times disappointing that some people were walking on the reef only because Inexperience

the staff was amazing- Tamita (F&B) , Moana (bartender) , Louise (concierge). Thank you all for making our stay memorable!
The resort would REALLY need to think about the wifi connection in the resort. It didn't work AT ALL! It's serious for a 5 star hotel.
The matress was not up to the standards, either the pillows and the housekeeping services. The cleanliness is terrible...

Absolutely beautiful resort. The overwater bungalow was AMAZING and the water was so beautiful. I also have sailed around the different islands of French Polynesia and I think the best sunsets were at Le Taha'a. Also, the staff was exceptional. For example, we got massages and commented on how amazing the oils smelled and considered buying a jar (although we ended up not purchasing). Then, for our departing gift from the hotel, they gave each person in our party the a jar of the oil in the scent we wanted/almost purchased. It was really above and beyond.

Our Sunset view Over Water bungalow was beyond nice - really private. Total luxury. In my estimation this is the best choice for location at this resort. They have something called Bora Bora view OW rooms that are more costly but not as private and not as far out on the pontoon. Sunset view means beautiful sunsets and a gorgeous view of waves breaking over reef. Just ocean infinity. Really cool. Plus the placement of the bungalow blocked the wind which was omnipresent. The lagoon is like the worlds biggest private swimming pool. If you swim about a half mile there is quite a nice group of coral heads for snorkeling. This is not as far as it seems as most of the time you can literally stand up and walk it.
They have something called coral garden. I thought it was a reef but really just some man made structures with coral grafted on. Scattered among the bungalows.
The grounds are over the top beautiful. Restaurant had some great food. We discovered that room service on your deck in the evening gave a whole new definition to "Cheeseburger in Paradise"
We used the funky tennis court a lot. What fun - though they could use some new equipment. Work out room is icy cold and filled with state of the art machines. You can bluetooth your own music. They have free cold water.
My tip: Bring some good wine or a bottle of something. The resorts we have been to including this one don't have the best selection and alcoholic drinks are stupid expensive.
Staff is one and all amazing. Could not be nicer or more dedicated to service without bugging you.
i would give this place an 11 rating except that they decided to remodel the bungalows during our stay and we had to listen to hammers and saws all day. We were going to prolong our stay another 5 days but couldn't take the construction. They should be done soon though.
Bed was a little hard. Though not terrible. Pillows too big but that applies to every hotel and why we bring our own. Think they shouldn't have rented rooms while they were renovating. For the price you shouldn't have to put up with the noise and mess. Expensive - but places like this don't grow on trees so suck it up.
