Spacious room and bathroom.
The bed and AC were great - so comfortable
Good location and close to the city centre
Staff weren’t particularly friendly or helpful, particularly at check-in and check-out….they seem not to want to engage, or ask “how was your stay?”, and in fact, the woman whom managed my check out, was quite rude. She showed zero interest in helping me store my luggage, and said nothing….all they really need to do is smile.
Breakfast, including staff service….very ordinary and very impersonal

On arrival our room smelt so badly of mould. The supervisor on duty said all the rooms are mouldy due to the wet season. The supervisor upgraded our room. The upgrade still smelt but at least we had a balcony for fresh air. This was the only upside to our stay.
The room smelt terrible as it was very mouldy. The breakfast was almost inedible. The room was dirty. On the final night there was a fire alarm and the fire brigade were called. Over the loud speaker we were told to wait so they could see what was happening. Instead we left our room and evacuated. This was a breach of guest safety. It was serious enough to call the fire brigade, wait for them to arrive, and go to the 12th floor to asses the situation. In the meantime all guests were still in their room. Thank god there was no fire!!! If it’s serious enough to call the fire brigade, it’s serious enough to evacuate guests. Finally, We asked if we could park in the car park for 15 minutes to collect our luggage after a 4 night stay. Eventually the receptionist agreed before wanting to charge $15. Overall the staff seemed very inexperienced

Room was clean, spacious, great shower, great location. We left early for day trips and had a fabulous breakfast packed on the go from the cafe instead of the buffet breakfast.
The pool was cold and could of been a bit more inviting.

We had had an excellent room on 25th level, with sweeping views of Darwin Harbour.
Complimentary continental breakfast was excellent, which set us up for the day. Restaurant staff were very friendly and efficient in their jobs.
Front desk staff were extremely polite and very helpful.
We really enjoyed our stay at Oaks Elan and are happy to recomend this hotel to anyone visiting Darwin.

Robyn and Ian Sydney-Smith
The pool was not circulating and the water was very cold.

Location is wonderful, easy access to buses and taxis made moving around simple. Breakfast was great. The room was large and bright, aircon was very efficient.
Nothing really

We were happy.

Good View and comfortable bed.
Expensive, slow elevators, shower was only luke warm with no pressure, very slow checkout (11AM) with not enough staff. Room noisy - could hear people above walking around and scraping chairs across tiled floor. Some sort of spillage on the floor in the hallway outside our room that was not cleaned up for three days. Parking $15 a night - Argus motel down the road only charged $9 night. Disappointed overall as this motel was expensive.

Super clean, welcoming staff, central location, quiet, great pool, cafe downstairs, large balcony overlooking the water. We booked a two bedroom apartment which was large with two bathrooms.. Arrived in the middle of the night off a red eye flight and check-in was quick so we could get some sleep.
Cold showers but only because the people before us must have flipped the central hot water switch.. Hotel staff offered us breakfast downstairs - happy days. Staff were on site within 30 mins to source the problem . To be honest who wants a hot shower in Darwin....ever?

The room was a good size with a very comfortable king sized bed. Great view of the harbour. The continental breakfast was fairly basic but adequate and a nice way to start the day.

not a lot!
dirty… floors in corridors were disgusting… not mopped at all whilst we were there, and marks & dust everywhere. Outside of entrance, & where one eats, dirty, sticky & marked.
shabby…. desperately in need of maintenance and painting. walls all knocked around , marks, holes & chipped.
we were in the swimming pool when we were bombarded with beer cans from above.
Our outside table was marked with what appeared to be cigarette burns.
Most definitely NOT a 4* hotel!

One bedroom apartment with harbour view was really lovely - great view and hotel is in a really good location - close to walk to everything in the city
There was an issue with one of the 3 lifts and at times there was quite a wait with the remaining two lifts also being used by cleaning staff

Room very well equipped. Great heating and cooling. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast very good.
Fire alarm 3 hours after we got to sleep but no fault of hotel. 19 floors down very hard on knees.
