Comfortable stay in a beautiful room but no wifi in bedroom.

Beautiful, large room with a very comfortable bed. Friendly hosts. Basic continental breakfast. La Rose de Pindare in Bourgueil - is an outstanding value for money local French restaurant.

- No workable wifi available in bedroom. - The old wooden stairs to the rooms are dangerous; between us we nearly tripped and fell three times during our stay. - The kitchenette was not as we expected. It is downstairs, adjacent to the dining room and used by the proprietor for breakfast and dinner. - There is an unexpected charge of 8 Euros per day should you use the kitchen. - We absolutely understand that we're in France but for English speakers it is worth noting that the only TV station in English available on our TV was France24 which is essentially a French news programme.

Superb

Excellent food, clean and well decorated rooms. Friendly owners.

Minor points only. No stand up shower in one of the rooms we had but the bath looked great. Air con was a bit noisy.

Worth to visit

Very warm and welcome owners. Every day give us advice what is worth to see, sharing their own maps of region. The building and room gives you a climate of this region, you can feel the history. You can taste local cheese and wines. Don't hesitate to go there!

Superb

A beautiful guest house in stunning Loire countryside. Bruno and Valerie the owners were lovely and their dinner, made from entirely fresh local or organic produce was truly delicious. We will be back!

Wonderful ambiance and a delightful experience eating our table d,hote In beautiful surroundings.

Bruno and Valerie were wonderful hosts who cooked and presented food beautifully and gave helpful suggestions about itineraries. The room was large and comfortable and charming. Beautiful bed linen and best of all halogen adjustable reading lights ( very uncommon in Europe)

In common with most beautiful older French houses the stairs were narrow and difficult to manage our suitcases if you’re on the second floor. The shower is over the bath and internet was patchy upstairs.

Elegant rooms -- quiet village location -- fabulous dinner prepared by the host, who also selected a wine for each course and gave us the benefit of his extensive knowledge of wines -- friendly, sociable atmosphere at dinner with other guests.

An excellent stay - warm welcome, good food, comfortable bed - we plan to go back.

owners were very friendly and accommodating. The room was very big with nice views. Dinner was very good and the wine was perfect (and great value). The bed was huge and very comfortable.

Heartwarming acquaintance in an amazing gîte.

Excellent reception and the hosts were amazingly helpful and forthcoming. The breakfast was the typical French with the renowned baguette, marmelade, tasty home-made yogurt, coffee and pastries. We took additionally two dinner (three course menu) cooked directly by the host who proved to be an excellent chef. The room was very spacious, super clean and serviced daily, with an option to change the towels at our convenience. We've got very helpful trip advice, tailored to our profile (car/bike/castle visits). Overall, an excellent acquaintance, hosting and cooking.

An excellent place to stay. Super hosts and great food and wine.

Nice continental breakfast in very pleasant dining room. We had three dinners that were all excellent with good choice of wines all at very reasonable prices. Bruno and Valerie are very friendly hosts that made us feel much at home

Overall very comfortable but maybe another comfortable chair in the room would be good. Overall nothing to dislike about this property and hosts.

Wonderful helpful host, beautiful room & super comfortable bed.

The whole place was Immaculate. We Liked the fact we could use the kitchen space and appreciated the tea & coffee tray in the room. We opted for evening meals where the host Bruno cooked excellent food for us and at very last minute. We were also offered a great wine selection. The host could not do enough for us.

Nice quiet location. Delicious breakfasts and evening meals. We liked the wine list which enabled us to try out lesser known local wines.

An amazing place and hosts while visiting the Loire Valley. Highly recommended !!!

This place deserves a 10++ in all aspects. The room is very very special as well as the gourmet meals. After our first dinner we decided to have dinner there every night (7-nights). Never ate the same dish at dinner. The owners Valerie and Bruno are very nice people. It looks like they have thought about every detail and they put their hearts into this place. They have recommended to us where to go every day, based on our preferences. We had a wonderful vacation, and we will definitely go back.

If you like wine, this is a great soot

Good and spacious room. We had the table d’hotes and asked Bruno for his wine recomendations, which made us taste and drink amazing wines. Rented a bike and had a lovely tour ro the Loire and around the vinyards. Bruno and Valerie are very kind people.

Exceptional

We enjoyed an unforgettable 4 night stay at La Dixmeresse during our month long trip to France. The owners are warm, accommodating, and patiently negotiate any language barriers with you. Our room was spotless, spacious, and luxurious; one of the very best during our trip. Breakfast is excellent, but the real highlight is dinner, and particularly Bruno’s outstanding selection of wines from small volume producers, both reds and whites. Oh, and the very best cheese selections we had during our trip were served at both meals! The location is perfect for exploring the Loire sights west of Tours and a must if you enjoy Cabernet Franc!

Although we were there in August, I suspect Restigne is sleepy any time of the year without a lot to offer apart from wine. I would recommend a two night stay at La Dixmeresse, sightseeing east and west when arriving and departing with a fun day of wine tasting in between. Do have your dinner there as it’s too far to drive after eating elsewhere and the meals and wine are a superb value.

Every aspect of our stay was absolutely PERFECT! Valérie et Bruno were the ultimate hosts and delivered way above our expectations. The food and wine were outstanding! So complementary and delicious! Loved that we were eating local products and direct from their garden. Bruno provided detailed information about the wines and was highly skilled at matching every dish to perfection! The room was beautiful and quiet, tastefully appointed with homely touches. They also provided us with recommendations on where to go if you have children and what to visit! Their suggestions were spot on! I can not recommend La Dixmeresse enough! An absolute must! 10/10... Do not pass on dinner, it is a wonderful experience! Thank you Valérie & Bruno!!!
