It was a very nice quiet location—a short walk to the beach—adequate amenities—easy to find with GPS—
The cabin was a little too cramped and the bed was not very comfortable—no place to put suitcases

Position simply amazing, into the wild and very close to a beautiful beach . Cozy cottage, well furnished. Nice host. Recommended!

The location was great. Right down the road from Vik and Reynisfjara Beach as well as the Dyrholaey Lighthouse. You can walk down to the black sand beach from the cottage and we had the whole beach to ourselves with views of the arch. Surrounded by farm animals, cows, horses, sheep, kids would love it.
The cottage outside seemed very worn and could use some paint. The inside was okay nothing to write home about.
4.3
Lovely location with farm animals around.
Highlight was the friendly dogs and my son had an amazing time playing with them!
The cottage isn't too spacious. If you have many bags, it will be a little difficult.
4.3
Nice little cottages.
There was a liking on the window making cold air coming inside the house.

Location was the most convenient for as, as we were calculationg, how much light we will have during the day, as we visited iceland in winter, so location was the most perfect, as after sunset we managed to reach the location and it was like a midle to the next place, so before sunset we managed to reach next sightseeing and adventures place. It is hard to evaluate place as it was needed basically only for sleeping! Good things to mention - everything for cooking is provided, just by what you want. to cook and the place has everything else - which is just perfect as Iceland is quite expensive, nearby town of Vik has a shop were you can buy some food and prepare it at the cottage.
Unfertunatelly one of two cotteges were cold upon the arrival (something went wrong with heating), therefor host was very helpfull and arrived straight away and brought another heater - which did not saved the situation as we were tired (it was very late around 23:00), therefore the host showed that clients comfort is important for them - so I think that this was a random accident and in general I really liked the place!

Lovely little cottage, located on a farm with 2 very friendly dogs who enjoyed playing snowball fetch!
Cottage was lovely and clean and very warm! Hosts were amazing even when we booked rather last minute. They went out of their way to accommodate us.
Would prefer more pillows 😴

Cozy cottage with fully equipped kitchen and cozy bathroom
The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable, there was a strange smell in the cottage

We were a group of 7 people traveling in the south of Iceland and we rented two cottages at Mid Hvoll Cottages. The cottages were comfortable, warm, clean and fully equipped.
I would like to remark the hospitality of the owners: due to a snow storm we were blocked in our way to Vatnajökull glacier, with the Ring Road closed from Vik, but Mid Hvoll Cottages manages the situaton quickly to accommodate us for one more night. But late in the afternoon, Ring Road was reopened and we decide to continue our trip to Vatnajökull. Our host did not gice us any problem, did not chage us for late check out nor booking lost and even more, he gave us the option to return at any moment in the night to the cottages if for any reason we find any issue in the road which don't let us to continue our trip.
Thanks a lot, with such hospitality, we felt much more comfortable and confident in our travel.
Just to say something, the bed in the livig room (convertible sofa) was a little bit unconfortable, but I consider this is normal in this kind of beds

The host was amazing, we arrived there during a heavy snow storm and he worked 24/7 to keep the road and the cottages free. A cozy stay even during a storm!

really helpful staff to help us get to the hotel u see the terrible snow storm hits Iceland. They were so friendly and are willing to help us with problems getting out or back during our stay. The dogs are so friendly and they made our stay an exceptional one!

This is one of the most prettiest, cozy cottages we've stayed at. We were greeted by 2 friendly dogs at the reception and later they followed us back to our cottage to play fetch :) The view around the cottage is so peaceful and beautiful.
The heater in the dining room didn't work and we couldn't get in touch with anyone to have the heater fixed as it was already late when we arrived. There was a small portable heater, but it was not warm enough for the whole cottage.

Everything.

Very helpful staff. Lovely wee cottage in a very special location.

Stunning location and well equipped cottage
Fantastic property which would have received a 9 but was sadly let down by an extremely uncomfortable bed (you could feel the springs in the mattress) and poor quality bedding (thin and looked old).
4.3
Location is great to explore the south coast, the views are amazing, sunrise, sunset, northern lights, the sound of the ocean, the dogs on property were so cute and friendly. Confortable and cozy cabin with everything you need. Our favorite accommodation on our ring road trip!
Love everything

We totally enjoyed our stay at the Mid Hvoll Cottage and would highly recommend them to others. All appliances worked and the kitchenette was stocked with all the basics (salt, pepper, tea, coffee). WIFI was inconsistent when the wind blew 40 mph ... otherwise the WIFI was excellent. Note - there is no TV or Hot Tub with this property. The property dogs were fun and friendly. The private beach access was excellent. We really enjoyed staying on a farm with a wide variety of animals. The town of Vik is a short drive for food, gas, etc. The cottages are close to many top tourist attractions.
The bathroom shower and sink are very compact ... Large bodies may have a challenge fitting into the shower comfortably.

I loved this cabin. it’s compact and cozy. Best cooking facility on our visit to Iceland. Perfect location with so much to do around the area. Unexpectedly saw the northern lights. lovely welcome.

Great view and location, very dark area good for aurora watching. Main room (kitchen with sitting area and dining table) very nice and cozy, coffee brewer and ecquiped kitchen. Green field ahead and privacy.
Tiny bedroom with uncomfortable matres, I could feel every spring in my back. Hope it will be replaced with a better one.
4.3
Great view all around!
Inside the cottage the space is ok for all the stuff you could have during your travel.
There was no one at the reception when we arrived.

It was a charming cute little house, near the beach and two very friendly and polite dogs visited us while we were outside.
Everything was good.
