It was great location and lovely hotel
Nothing.

The staff were warm, welcoming and very accommodating. The whole place was spotless. The shower and the toiletries were excellent. The large towels and robes, umbrella, and other bits were a welcome extra.
The room I had was small! Quite tight size wise. I think it was because I was a solo traveller. Other than that there is nothing to complain about!

Loved the old world charm of the property. Beautiful staircase, lift to get to all floors. Large ceilings and the staff were just lovely. In a very quiet and safe location of London but easily accessible to all. Our bed was also very comfortable with excellent block out curtains.
Expensive service charges in addition when using room service. No alternative when we wanted to use late night room service one night after a theatre production and the staff that ran it didn’t come into work.

Very good
A self service cold table for starters

The styling of the property was lovely. The bed was great. The penhaligons toiletries were a nice touch. The towels were lovely and fluffy.
The curtains were ineffective with huge gaps around the edges. No ironing board or iron in the room.

It’s location is superb for the things i like to do in london - the ambience is splendid and completely charming- very 19th cenrtury england - the staff could not be more hosipitable and helpful - from the concierges, to the barman (who mixes a wicked old fashioned) to the restaurant staff to the cleaners…
My room was tiny - it was described as a superior double updgrade - and there wad barely enough room for the bed, the suitcase and a small desk - very tight quarters - doable and a bit more space would have been most welcome.

Location and charming staff. Excellent breakfast.
Putting a daily service charge on the room was unexpected. I should have queried it on checkout, especially as we put a do not disturb sign on our room for our three day stay.

The location for The Albert Hall is excellent.
The room was beautifully furnished and decorated. Extremely comfortable bed. All the staff were welcoming and very helpful.
The breakfast was delicious

The room was very comfortable and warm. The location was just right for the RAH. The breakfast was very enjoyable. The service from the staff was excilenct. I will continue using the hotel when I go to RAH.
They would not let me take the brass frogs home with me. 😊

The location is amazing. The staff could not be kinder, and helpful in every way. The decor and ambience is charming. Recommend including full breakfast! They make an excellent flat white.

Oh where do I start!
I liked everything.
I stayed in The Tudor Suite. Beautiful suite you just feel like you are in luxury. The four poster bed was extremely comfy.
I was met at the door and welcomed to the hotel by the staff.
I was taken to the suite.
My bags were carried.
I had Beautiful food in the restaurant.
The bar was gorgeous.
There was always someone on hand to help you and nothing was too much trouble.
The manager and staff at the Gore clearly are very proud of their stunning hotel and it shows
They love it and they want you to love it too!!
Well I did love it and it made my stay in London fabulous!!
There was nothing at all that I didn't like. It is just delightful.

Staff very friendly. Location perfect, as we wanted to be near the Albert Hall. The history of the building is fascinating and we like the many original features, for example the entrance hall and reception, the wood panelled lift. Lovely bar and quiet sitting room. The staff told us stories about the Rolling Stones partying there in the seventies, Judy Garland staying in room 211 and leaving six pairs of shoes behind, etc. It didn't seem to be busy so we never had to queue for the lift or reception. It felt very homely.
The room was minuscule and facing the back, with a big airconditioning unit with its hose hanging out the window! I guess we must have been in one of the basic rooms, even though it was £230 a night plus room tax. There was a lot of furniture, but it was old and characterful. The plumbing was as you might expect in an old building (eg cistern taking ages to refill) but on the plus side there was plenty of hot water and a tub. Only 3 standard power sockets in the room, and two of them were behind the big chest of drawers, so we had to move it out from the wall so we could both charge our phones at the same time!

Shocked to be hit with a Service Charge as well as the expected price.

Could serve dinner a little later. Breakfast was a little expensive for us

The hotel’s location is just a few steps away from the Royal Albert Hall, which was the purpose for our trip.
We were delighted with the ambience of the hotel and received a warm welcome at reception. Nothing is too much trouble here.
Do visit the newly opened 190 Queens Gate restaurant headed up by English Chef Frederick Forster. The food is exquisite and so reasonably priced. The restaurant offers a warm and inviting intimate space.

The hotel was situated close to the Thai Embassy which was perfect. The rooms were clean and pretty looking, loved the solid mattress, the bedding was lovely and fresh. I had a great night's sleep with very refreshing shower in the am. Parking outside is free after 18.30pm until 08.30am which was an amazing bonus. Plenty of shops, cafe's and restaurants within 20 mins walk and Hyde Park just located behind us. Electric bicycles just down the road 5 mins away, and the south Kensington Tube station area has a fantastic selection of restaurants all around it. I love this part of London. Staff were very pleasant and friendly.
Kettle situation in the room was problematic, I can't bend and crawl on the floor to plug things in under desks, and the cable barely reached so that was disappointing. There was an unpleasant odour on the 4th floor corridor of sewage early in the am, but not in the room thankfully. Rooms were a tad small and the staff need to be made aware of the free parking overnight, other than that it really was a lovely hotel to rest your head.

It is very comfortable and the staff are lovely. The food was delicious. It’s interesting and homely in a grand sort of way. The reception staff were so welcoming and friendly.
Nothing really

The hotel is beautiful. The building is historic and fabulous. The staff were friendly and the hotel was in a great location for the BST concerts at Hyde Park, which is what we wanted. The shower was good and the bed was comfortable. We both slept well.
The room service menu was extremely limited and then when we ordered what we could, half of the order was missing. The bar stayed open until 1am so not clear why some sort of limited bar menu could not be offered for guests returning from concerts late. The room was extremely small ! London hotels are always expensive for the floor space but this was an extreme example !

The atmosphere and the staff were very nice and polite. I have stayed many times, and this was okay and better than last time we stayed
The room was small and clean. In room 506, the bathroom needs a bit of work. Broken tile and chipped toothbrush holder. Mark on the carpet outside the bathroom door. I expect these to be first class for the price we paid

Very good location
Friendly staff
The bed did not satisfied my expectation.
For such a hotel, it was not comfy. The middle part of the mattress was curved in. It bothered my back.
The breakfast was okish.

We were upgraded to another room upon arrival which was a nice surprise. The breakfast was excellent. We had pre-theatre dinner at the hotel too and that was also excellent. We had a pre-dinner drink in the bar where we were looked after and notified when our table was ready in the restaurant. The location was ideal for the Royal Albert Hall, Hyde park and other local attractions.
From arrival to checking out we couldn't fault the staff. Each one of them looked after us attentively. Would definately recommend this hotel and would be very happy to return.
The only problem we experienced, which was no fault of the hotel, was the noise at night. With the heat and having the windows open we could hear young students from the street shouting, screaming until all hours. We could look out and see them. We were disturbed 3 times during the night. This did spoil our visit however this is of no fault of the hotel.

Impressive (Judy Garland suite). Spotlessly clean and a really rather unique room. Quite impressive to look at when you first arrive. Drape surrounded the very comfortable bed area a nice touch. Hotel is ideally located, close to the Royal Albert Hall, which is only a few minutes walk away. Friendly reception staff.
The fact that we had to book a table in the bar! Never had this before. This should have been explained to us upon arrival, not hidden in small print on a note in the room. Although the bar manager was able to seat us, we felt like a nuisance. Really poor service and approach.
Although the food served at breakfast was very good, the service in the dining room was at times haphazard, and at other times completely lacking. On our arrival in the dining room in the morning, every one of the tables, where someone had been sitting were strewn with dirty crockery and left-over food, which wasn't cleared away for some time. Service was slow and inattentive and the area clearly under-staffed. Fruit salad as ordered arrived after the hot food, and then we had to request it. No routine offer to top up finished tea and coffee. Toast went cold waiting for hot food to arrive. Dining room manager has mastered the art of not making eye contact with the guests, in case they might want something. In a hotel of this standard, this area let down our whole stay. Extremely disappointing given the premium paid.

Great location
The room was very very small. Breakfast was lovely but inconsistent- one morning we were in there for just under an hour, the other 2 mornings nice and quick. One full English with 1 rasher of bacon, the other 2 mornings, 2. Plus you had to give them your room number and wait for a tab to sign at breakfast, when it was included in our booking. It’s not a big hotel so they should know who needs to pay. Also over £100 of ‘discretionary services’ added to the bill. Waitress kept clearing the table whilst one of us was still eating. All staff were very pleasant and helpful. Wouldn’t stay again as our room was poor value for money in my opinion.

Location
Service, Room. We were told we were upgraded. That didn't happen. We were refused entry to the bar after a concert. We were told to book a table. We were not informed we had to do this. Why anyway? We are guests of the hotel. We were then move to a ounfge and took 35 minutes to order, another 20 minutes for the drink. I had to go to the bar and remind them of my order which was not actually placed at the bar
