The staff was very polite and helpful. The food was fresh and delicious. We used their equipment to watch the birds from distance. We will visit again :)

This was our second time here. Nujka and her mother are fantastic. The location is so superb. We saw tons of birds plus Egyptian vultures, Black vultures, and griffon vultures. Be sure to go sit at the gazebo in Gorno Pole in the afternoon, the griffons were landing in a nearby field and then shrieking at one another like the little dinosaurs that they are. We also saw white storks riding the thermals with griffons. So amazing!

Nusha and her wonderful mum, Alaka, made us feel incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived.
The room was clean and comfortable and, although there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, Nusha kindly gave us a kettle so that we could make our early morning coffee (we're very early risers).
We stayed for five nights and had breakfast, a substantial packed lunch and an evening meal with a beer every day. The food is good, solid Bulgarian fare and plenty of it - you will most definitely not go hungry.
We met various members of centre staff who work for the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds, all of whom spoke great English are incredibly dedicated and passionate about what they do. We had a great time sitting and chatting with them about wildlife conservation in the area and beyond.
Our stay was incredibly good value for money - full board for two people cist us £320 all in. Best of all, 20% of that goes back into conservation of the birds.
A truly memorable stay with wonderful people. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
Leaving!

We loved EVERYTHING about the Vulture Center. The kindness and warmth of Nusha, Boris and the other lovely people that worked there. we learned so much at the Nature Center about Vultures, the area and Bulgaria. The food was delicious. We felt as if we were coming home every evening.
Can’t think of a thing.

The location is the best you can find in the town. It is a very quiet forest area, close to the vultures observation zone and to the beach on Arda river. The room was very modern and clean, with fresh bed linen and plenty of fresh soft towels. There was a Daikin air conditioner, a mini-fridge, and a TV. Nice and clean small rugs on the floor. The bathroom was spotless - very clean and hygienic too, with good water pressure, and a lot of hot water.
The food is absolutely amazing, it makes you feel as if you are at home. For dinner, we had homemade stuffed peppers with rice and minced meat and for breakfast - pancakes with white cheese and with sour cherry jam, as well as a nice espresso with milk.
The staff is very friendly and cooperative, they gave us directions on how to reach the river beach and where are the best places to observe the vultures.
I wasn't able to use the Wi-Fi because the signal was very weak. Bathroom ventilation could be improved.

Spacious and comfortable room right on the river. So peaceful and a great spot for birders with the Griffon nests in the cliffs outside. The staff was very welcoming.
Nothing. Only that I wish I could stay longer.

Nusha was the perfect hostess. She helped make our stay absolutely perfect. Breakfast was delicious especially the French toast and pancakes with yummy homemade orange and cherry jams. Rooms perfect. Slept like a log! If you like peace and quiet and a beautiful location this is the place for you!
Nothing (but there are steps up to the rooms which could be a problem for those with mobility problems).

Wonderful, friendly owner. Excellent location right next to River Arda. Parking close by, good attached restaurant and lots of walking trails close by. Wish I could have stayed for longer. The perfect base for exploring the area which is rich in wildlife!

A small (just three rooms), well-maintained hotel located ideally for birdwatchers, because right next to the rocks on which a large population of griffon vultures nest. A quiet, secluded place where nightingales and scops owls sing outside the windows at night.
Rooms comfortable and extremely clean. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. On site a small restaurant run by Nusha and her mother with delicious home cooking.
The kind and welcoming Nusha and her mother create an extremely friendly atmosphere of the place, where you want to come back.
No shower stall in the bathroom, which is common in Bulgaria.

Second time I was there and it was even better than I remembered from the first time! For me this is the best place you can be when you want to explore Madzharovo and the Eastern Rhodopes. Nice, clean & spacious room&bathroom, good beds. A little fridge in the room was very convenient with outside temperatures of 30degrees. Inside the rooms kept nice and cool.
Nusha, the hostess, does a perfect job! Not only for the rooms, but also to serve you the best food (dinner, breakfast, lunch packet) & drinks! Her mother is the cook and prepares daily fresh excellent Bulgarian food! They made us feel like home there! We spent 9 nights in total at the vulture centre (for wildlife exploration in the area) and everyday we we enjoyed the food, drinks & superfriendly service!
Nothing. Everything was perfect!

The room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable and the food was delicious. The lady was very friendly and gave us a lot of information about the vultures and showed them to us through a telescope. We loved the sound of the river and the birds at night. We will definitely go back there again.

It's so quiet and relaxing there, super staf and the people visiting there are also very relaxed, most of them come there also to enjoy nature and it's great to share experiences. There is also possible to get guides or rent a hide to watch vultures and other wildlife.
The rooms were redone since our last visit, this was pleasant surprise
Nothing really

The location is amazing, the food is good, the hosts are very welcoming! The room was spotless and while simple, it provided more comfort than one would expect from such lodging on such a remote place.

Everything was just perfect, clean room with big bed, amazing view on Arda River and beautiful mountain rocks. So welcoming and loving energy of Nusa, the hostess, with yummy home made food. Supporting the cause and protection of birds and animals. Thank you for all and hope to see you again

This is simply the best place to stay in the whole of Eastern Rodopi mountains! Very cosy, situated in the leafy woods, with spacious rooms and proximity to true wilderness! Best of all, the host, Nusha, made sure we were well looked after and felt part of the family! And did I mention the cooking?! Hearty, delicious and locally sourced! A real home away from home, which I cannot recommend hard enough! Only regret, we couldn't stay longer!
Nothing to say! The place is magical! :)

The place is nicely located next to Arda river and the room was cozy and clean. There is a small restaurant with delicious food. Nuzha, who runs the place, is one of the friendliest, most cheerful and hospitable persons we ever met. She helped us find really good places for birdwatching and went out of her way to make our stay comfortable.

The hotel is situated on the banks of the river Arda. The wildlife in the area was wonderful.
I watched an otter catching fish on my 1st morning.
The scenery is stunning.
The staff were amazing, very helpful in organising a trip to the wildlife hide. The lady who runs it ( I'm sorry I've forgotten her name)
speaks great English organised a huge tasty packed lunch. The food is great, all Bulgarian!!
I will be back next spring.
There is nothing better than seeing Griffon vultures soaring above your head!!
As an ecologist it ticks all the boxes!
Nothing!!

My stay was wonderful! The hosting is really welcoming and hospitable, there were always fresh fruits to take and they prepared me a vegan alternative for every dinner. The location is superb for watching birds and having the opportunity to have a good sleep by the sound of the river. I will return again!
