The location was lovely. The property was sign posted from the road but, a little confusing, we didn’t realise it was so far off the road and we weren’t sure if we were going the right way until we sited the villa. It is fenced and dog friendly, which was fantastic. There was lots of information for the surrounding area which is really useful. Plenty to do and see, if you want to. The accomodation was a good size. A older character property. It has two TV’s one with Netflix. There as a lovely front sun lounge with fabulous views. The shower room was outside but under a porch so no problems. The kitchen was tiny but ample plates etc. The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed seeing the eels.
I don’t mind being expected to clean the property that is quite normal, but the property needs a vacuum that is maintained and in good condition. It was full and taped up with duck tape and quite dangerous to use. Maybe, it’s a personal hygiene preference but I was surprised to read that the duvet covers are not washed between guests, washed on a regular basis. I washed the ones we were using.

Wonderful old house out in the country. Very relaxing and well equiped. Anne and Mike excellent hosts. We enjoyed looking through Anne's art gallery.
Note it can get cold at night plenty of heaters to manage this.

it was fun to stay on an actual kiwi farm in an older house. It was very comfortable

Location, quiet, views.
Having to vacuum and strip beds! Directions to nearby walks could be clearer - we found it difficult to find start points.

Great location of the retreat and the wide Spaces, rooms and the tasteful design of the interior. And also a great map with lots of Nice ‘ off the main road’ things you can do in the area with exact describing how and where.
Everything was ok

Hosts were so friendly, warm, welcoming and helpful.
Heating - A little tricky, given the age and style of house (I know cos I've owned a couple), but an updated mode of heating in living areas and bathrooms would be good. I don't like to waste resources and found the heaters provided 'under resourced' and out dated.

Beautiful tranquil property. Wake up to birds singing ...Quiet and peaceful. House was comfortable with plenty of material to read or dvds to watch television. Bed were comfy and shower was hot. Owners were friendly and helpfill. Would love to stay again.

Lovely shower and clawfoot bath. Outdoor area much appreciated
Steep stairs to b.b.q area difficult for old dogs and those of us with arthritis also rather slippery when wet.

Great location.
Kids loved the cows that were right outside our front door.
Property was a good size with plenty of space inside and out for our kids to run around.
Even though the property was tidy, it wasn't very clean.
All surfaces needed a wipe down and there were spiderwebs in most corners.
The bathroom/toilet was definitely not cleaned before we arrived.
We booked to stay for 2 nights but only stayed for 1 as I didn't feel comfortable.

The setting was beautiful, shame about the weather on day of arrival 😊
Couldn’t connect to the wifi, but that’s ok.

Such beautiful countryside and surrounds. The house was spacious and well provisioned. Mike and Anne were great hosts, being very considerate and welcoming, authentic and caring people and provided detailed advice for locating the property.
Some people would find the property too far out in the country, but that was a special charm for us.
