Before we met Marko in person, he was already spot on with his communication. Asking us what time we will arrive so the dinner will already be prepared. We ate such amazing good fresh fish (carb) with all fresh vegetables from the garden. Fresh tomatoes, paprika, cucumber, olives, onion, cheese and super tasty wine from his own wine yard. Breakfast was traditional which was perfectly prepared as well, super good and enough to survive a whole hike (made by the host Marko) through the mountains.
Marko is taking time to make you feel at home and is giving a lot of tips on where to go.
About the stay in the guesthouse, all is in great detail, beds are comfortable, airconditioning is working good, fine shower and all toiletries and hairdryer available.
Big plus, free use of bikes to roam around, even if it is for a simple fast groceries in the town.
We would definitely go back to this guesthouse in the near future.

Thank you Marko for hosting me in the small corner of paradise that Country House Djurisic is. This is one of those places where you arrive and you instantly feel that it is special. I very much enjoyed the beautiful garden and vineyard, the cozy and spotless room, the wonderful wine and montenegrin breakfast and the many interesting conversations and tips on the region that you shared. Three and a half days were not nearly enough to explore the natural beauty of this area. So many options to do hikes, bike rides, kayak or boat trips... or just relax in a hammock and read. I left feeling recharged and inspired.

Marko is an outstanding and enthusiastic host who makes you feel at home right away. The property is perfect for either relaxing on its terrasses and hammocks (under the grapevines) or heading out on one of the hikes (of the beaten path) Marko suggests. We only stayed a night but wished we'd stayed a week!

A very passionate and hospitable host who was forthcoming with recommendations for things to do and happily provided answers to our questions regarding anything about Montenegro. Beautiful views and a very comfortable room with lovely furnishings that made it feel like a home away from home. The breakfast and dinner (we took this for an additional charge) were delicious and the accommodation included use of high quality bikes and we were also able to taste some of the host’s own wine and rakija.

Country House Djurisic is located in a quiet place near Skadarsko Jezero. We really enjoyed the area because of all the tips we received from our host Marko. The accommodation has everything you need and we would like to thank Marko so much for his hospitality, delicious homemade wine and tips! We would recommend anyone to stay here when you are visit Montenegro.

Everything! The room was spacious and immaculate. The location of the accommodation is peaceful but a short (15min) walk to the town of Virpazar. Marko was such a lovely host and took the time to show me around the estate and explain the history and links to his family as well as reccomending somewhere nice to eat for dinner. He also introduced me to the winery and invited me to sample some of the wine- can confirm it was delicious! I was only there for one night but Marko was so friendly and welcoming so it felt like visiting an old friend! I'm looking forward to returning in the future!
Nothing, everything was perfect

The apartment was well appointed with comfortable beds, clean bathroom and access to a shared kitchen and lounge. The balcony was set up beautifully for eating, sitting and admiring the fantastic view. The garden also added to the beauty of this accommodation.

Marco is one of the best host i have met during my travels, he is very proud about his country, family and traditions, he is continuing historical traditions offering local food and showing around wine cellar, fish smokehouse. Marco helped us to get to the town centre and was willing to help in any way during our trip even though we were no longer staying at his place.

Marko’s place is conveniently placed on the outskirts of Virpazar. Only a short 1km walk from the town, ideal if you’ve had a couple of drinks at one of the many bars or restaurants.
The home itself is lovingly decorated and has everything you need for a great stay. Such as comfortable rooms and well equipped kitchen.
The grounds around the house are lovely and although we didn’t have nice enough weather to enjoy relaxing in the grounds, we made good use of the balcony area that has views across the valley.
Although the house and location are lovely, the best part of the stay was Marko himself, he did everything he could to make our stay as easy, and enjoyable as possible and doing his utmost to make sure we had everything we needed. Dropping us off at the station, rescuing us when my bike tyre got punctured and generally just being incredibly friendly and fun to spend time with.
There is so much to do in the region, aside from the main attractions such as the lake cruises and kayaking. Marko made brilliant recommendations for a picturesque local hike and giving us use of some great bikes for a pretty route through the valley.
He also recommended an excellent lake tour from Golden Frog and helped arrange it for us as well as letting us try his own local wine! (Which is delicious might I add)
Visiting Marko’s place was our very first experience of Montenegro and what a fantastic introduction to this wonderful county and its people it was. We feel that we have come away from Marko’s having made a friend.

We stayed at the County House in June for 2 nights (sorry this review is so late!). We had an amazing stay and Marko was the best host you could ask for. Marko provided us with lots of information on things to do in the local area as well as other places in Montenegro. The Country House and grounds are beautiful and we loved tasting the homemade wine in the cellar. We had breakfast and ate dinner up on the terrace which was amazing! The best meal we had in Montenegro. The room was lovely and super clean, we had everything we needed. We will look forward to coming back to stay in the future.

We stayed at the Country House with Marko for 12 days.
The location is perfect for exploring different regions in Montenegro - central but still quiet.
The equipment is very good - cosy, individual and everything is very clean. Even in very hot summer temperatures, we were able to sleep very well thanks to the air conditioning.
The breakfast was very, very tasty and varied. Marko managed to offer different breakfast options for 9 days.
Dinner was also very tasty. All the ingredients were either from our own garden or from local suppliers.
individual wishes were promptly taken into account, not only at dinner. Marko tries to make the whole stay unique. This includes tips for sightseeing tours or restaurants, great beaches and special sights, if needed.
We really felt at home and will definitely come back in the future.
Thank you very much for the super nice time in Montenegro.

Our 3 night stay was exceptional and exceeded our already high expectations! Marko is an incredible host: super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area and the Balkans in general. On top of that, the property is beautiful! Outstanding location close to the lake and many outdoor activities, plus Marko & his family make outstanding wine. Definitely recommend the wine, breakfast, and dinner!
Overall, an outstanding stay and experience. Highly recommend!
We liked everything!

Marko is a great host, passionate about his business.
After the arrival he showed us his property and his amazing collection of bills from all around the world.
We were provided with bikes to see Virpazar around.
Next day, we were welcomed with an amazing breakfast made by Marko and his family.
Overall great experience, I am sure we’ll come back :)

The reception of the owner was very welcoming and he made us feel at home straight away. He guided through his vineyard and lovely garden. The accommodation is close to the town, only 10 minutes by bike, center but very tranquil. We could use his bicycles during our stay for a ride. The room was very spacious, very good bed and the bathroom was clean with a shower. We were served a typical Montenegrin breakfast which was delicious. Also possible to have diner but unfortunately we didn't have time (next time definitely). Two words: thoroughly recommended.

Marko's place is truly great with an amazing situation close to Skadar Lake but also with a lovely property.
Marko is a perfect guest ready to give you a tour of his small but nonetheless impressive and qualitative winery. He also provides us wit the best advises to visit the surroundings with some hidden gems only known by local people. :)
I can only encourage people to book a couple of nights at Marko's

On our trip through Montenegro and Croatia the stay at Marcos place left a lasting impression on us. The whole family is so kind and Marco is an exceptional warm, attentive and enjoyable host who is always helpful, but at the same time never pushy. He gave us a lot of ideas for activities with detailed descriptions and we can highly recommend doing a boot tour with his nice sister Marina. She made us have a really unique experience on the lake in her lovely wooden boat. For breakfast we got delicious Montenegrin food and in addition to our room we were able to use a small kitchen with fridge which was very practical. If you want to get something not only for your recreation but also for your heart, you should go to Marcos place!

Marko is the kindest and most hospital host we'd ever had! He will do the best to make your stay unforgettable. He arranged a boat trip for us, recommend some places to eat, told us about Montenegro's history and his winery. We got to taste his wine, don't want to spoil, but it is really good. He is really helpful and the place is cozy and clean. Totally recommend this place if you want to visit Virpazar and lake Skadar.

This is by far the best guesthouse experience we've ever had, thanks to the host Marco!!! (we are frequent travelers...) Marco's hospitality, desire to please(but always giving us the space and quiet we needed), as well as his knowledge of the area and of the country made it a magical experience. The house and room itself was also great, and very conveniently located: very close to the lake, but in a quiet area.

Marko was absolutely delightful and couldn't have been more attentive and helpful. His knowledge of the area is second to none and we happily allowed him to guide us to the best places using Maps.me. His house is snapshot of ordinary Montenegrin life end Virpazar is lovely village, trough probably extremely busy in the summer on account of the trips around Lake Skadar.
