Sunny terrace by the beach and friendly staff

Room by the beach with an independent heating/cooling system you can control yourself, great in the cold January night I stayed there. Very friendly staff, and actual keys to the front door and the room - I much prefer them to the magnetic cards, etc. The location is excellent: by the beach, easy to find if you come by train - just following the first street down to the beach. Also, there are several trekking routes and shorter walks you can do from there, which is the reason why I spent the weekend in Cubelles.

I'd read about the plastic matress covers, and they do make a bit of noise, but it's no real problem.

Nice moderately priced accomodation by the sea

I wanted to book moderately priced (compared to common pricing in area) air-contioned accomodation very near the good swimming beach and I got it. Bed is ok, fridge in the room is a plus, nice balcony, good daily cleaning. Supermarket nearby. Train station 1 km, good connections north and south. Peaceful small city, I felt safe to walk around alone even late. I really enjoyed my stay. Special thanks for the owner, she brought me cake and paella on her birthday ☺️

Occasional tobacco smell in the balcony, but I suppose that is quite common here in other accomodations as well. Plastic madress cover sheet was a bit uncomfortable.

Pleasant

The hosts were helpful especially with bike storage.

The room was tiny and we were at the back of the hotel with just a view over next door. Extremely poor value for money.

Don't stay at this hotel unless you can sleep in a room that smells of cigarettes.

There were never staff present at the hostal to provide any assistance. Someone came for check in then left. When I checked out after 10 in the morning, still no one was there to talk to, just a box to drop the key. The room was very smoky, and the mattresses smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. Made it difficult to sleep. When I called management they said that could not be the case as there was no smoking allowed. I said there was an ashtray in the room right near the bed. They said there were no other rooms and there was nothing they could do.
