Die Herzlichkeit und Geduld des Inhabers auf meine Fragen zum Weingut ;-). Und ich fand es sehr charmant, dass er mich zum Essen eingeladen hat.

Location. Charming place with great potential
Not enough drinking water. No kettle for tea. No staff available to assist.

We had a very enjoyable experience! Our room was full of beautiful antique furniture. The view all around was breathtaking. The vineyard was beautiful. Our host César made us feel like we were part of the family and made our experience very memorable. Thank you. John

I was welcomed with a friendly glass of port wine. The property is beautiful and a step back in time. The hosts are friendly, accommodating, and beyond helpful, assisting with taxis, recommendations, and more! Peaceful and comfortable room and fabulous breakfasts. As I had to leave rather early on the final day, they gave me a bagged breakfast to go, completely unexpected! My only regret is that I didn't prebook for a dinner, something to look forward to next time.

After staying in larger cities on our trip to Spain and Portugal, it was nice to spend time away from the crowds. The property is lovely and the owner and staff are friendly and welcoming. We booked a special tour of the property’s working vineyard and a port tasting which was enjoyable. We also had a specially prepared dinner one night. The day we were leaving there was a huge bike race in town which made getting a cab to the train station impossible. The property owner gave us a ride which allowed us to make our train. Definitely service above and beyond.
Nothing, everything was great.

We were delighted with our stay...from the welcome Port wine, to the tour, through the dinner and tasting, until we left. The owner and son were very passionate about their place and wines they make. We felt welcomed by the entire staff and they were constantly ready to answer our questions. The location allows for drives through the Douro Valley and it is still close enough to travel to Porto.

Quinta de Marrocos is a working family winery allowing visitors to understand and explore the sites of the Douro Valley. Our accommodation was the old house on the property. It was clean and functional but showing the signs of age. Having said this, our accommodate added to the charm of an authentic Douro Valley experience. The staff were absolutely wonderful, catering to our every wish. Indeed we took up the option of having dinner with paired wines and it was wonderful. We will have fond memories of Quinta de Marrocos.
As indicated above, the accommodation is basic and getting a little tired.

The breakfast was good, maybe could be improved with some vegetables . The room was OK, we have an adiacent living room with a fireplace. The whole house has a vintage look, which I loved very much. I was very impressed of the view, the Duoro river, the Duoro Valley, the hills with the vineyards, superb

Visit/ dinner/ wine tasking was very good.

It is an old house accommodated to modern tourism. The house has character. Situated over the river with spectacular views. The wines and the kitchen are local and extraordinary. The owner and staff are most friendly. I recommend the visit to wine making facilities with dinner to round up the day!
A few older things may need an overhaul.

Great location, excellent breakfast

A family farm located in the heart of the beautiful Douro Valley near the Paso de Rigua. A magical place with a friendly and courteous staff and we received a really warm personal treatment. We booked a tour with wine tastings and dinner and really enjoyed the excellent flavors and wines of the farm. In the evenings we enjoyed the farmhouse in front of the wood-burning fireplace and the special atmosphere that the design of the room with the family's treasures radiated. For us it was an experience we would love to experience again.

It was a lovely property with stunning views! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was exceptionally good! I would highly recommend it!
only issue was the parking- have to drive a car up a steep cobblestone driveway to park- needed help from the staff to back it up when we left.

The tour of the winery and vineyards was exceptional. Our guide, Susannah, was clear and had a great depth of knowledge about port wine making. Dinner was an experience not to be missed.
Wouldn't change anything. Some would not appreciate the rustic accommodations, but I found it more like spending time in a museum. Wonderful!

The tour with Louis and the wonderful dinner with very attentive service in a beautiful setting.

This Quinta is so quaint and special! The staff were very welcoming and kind. Comfortable room and lovely views. Take advantage of the tour, tastings, and dinner. Phenomenal experience! Raquel and Susana were fantastic hosts who saw to our every need while wearing many hats. Highly recommend staying here!

Everything was amazing! I cannot recommend this place enough. The tour, meal, bedrooms were amazing!
3.5
The place is really awesome as long as you can tolerate being in the country - but then again, that is why you book there. The staff and the ambience was excellent. - truly in the country side.
For a true country experience the breakfast was underwhelming. Very plain food despite the staff's best efforts.

Quinta de Marrocos was the best part of our 10-day trip to Portugal!!! I highly recommend doing the property tour and dinner when you're staying there, otherwise you won't quite understand the hype since the rooms themselves are very basic and there aren't tons of amenities. I honestly can't wait to go back one day, what a unique way to experience the region!

We had a good experience at this property. Staff was always super friendly and willing to help. Great wine tasting. And, off course, Jaqueline (the dog) is also part of the team. She took us to visit the wine yard, always walking ahead of us, showing us the way.
The bathing box is really small. I'm a 72kg guy and almost didn't fit inside that box. 10 kilos more and I would have had to take shower with a hose outside the room (lol).

This is a authentic glimpse into the rich heritage of Portuguese family life and culture. We were lucky to meet Cesar, the owner and honoured to share his beautiful home.
The large number of package tourists who turned up for the tour of the winery. A more intimate tour for guests would have been nicer. An opportunity to taste the wine as well as the port would have been good.

Great location with beautiful views, friendly staff and comfortable room
I couldn’t get the Wi-Fi to work in my room

Absolutely amazing and wonderful place to stay, or visit. Luis was an intelligent guide through the vineyard, served us a fantastic meal, was knowledge about the wines we drank and was back again the next morning to cheerfully serve us breakfast on the patio. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the views were amazing. It is only 5 minutes out of the town Régua (6 euro taxi ride). I would highly recommend this winery. We stayed for 2 nights and wish it could have been longer.
The beds weren't terribly comfortable.

I liked the view over the river Douro and the valley. Eating the fine homecooked breakfast and dinner and drinking wine and port from the wineyard is heavenly! The staff know a lot about the wines and the production of it, and they are all friendly and want to make your visit unforgettable.

Staff was super friendly. The location of the hotel is amazing, right in the heart of Douro! Wonderful breakfast served outside with an amazing view over the Douro River. Products were fresh, home-made jams and plenty of variety, great breakfast!
Outside seating area facilities. More spaces to seat outside should be available, and maybe a bit of an upgrade also needed to existing ones!

Great dinner (amazing value for the price). The views from the accommodation are stunning and the staff were quite helpful and friendly. We were welcomed with a glass of porto and some delicious membrillo (quince jelly)
Not many walks around the area, you need to drive to a nearest town if you want to go for a wonder
4.5
Almost everything although the access was tricky and definitely not wheelchair friendly. Staff couldn't be more helpful.Breakfast luxurious. The dinner in the evening was excellent but not exceptional for the cost
Only the access but not much can be done about that.
