Probably my favorite hotel during our vacation through Israel/Palestine and Jordan. You can tell that the family used to live here, as it is not like other standard hotels. It has that special cozy touch. The owners are amazing, very friendly, always available if you need help. Breakfast was also really nice.
When it's not summer yet, bring a pair of woolen socks, as the floor is pretty cold. :) (Not a big issue for us, as this is what comes with an old, authentic house).

Amazing family story behind the Al Hakim hotel. Great passion for what they are building, and great service to its guests. We enjoyed our experience with them.

This property is family-run, and the gracious hospitality shown to us by Bassam and his parents, Abir and Rayek, made us feel like we were staying with family. The property itself provides a unique place to stay when visiting Nazareth - it was previously the family carpentry shop which was converted to a boutique hotel, and the stonework, arches and design are like nothing you would ever see in a typical hotel.
The breakfast here is amazing - authentic cuisine including pita, olives, yogurt, pastry, vegetables, salads, cheese, omelettes....all lovingly prepared by Bassam's mother, Abir. Top this off with Nazarene cardamom infused coffee and you have a great start to your day in this beautiful city! The hotel also offers cooking lessons for groups (booking ahead required).
There is nothing I didn't like about this place - except that we had a little trouble finding it because we aren't used to navigating the narrow, winding streets here. It was also dark when we arrived after an overseas flight, but when we did locate it, Bassam greeted us and went with my husband to help find parking.

This was a really charming and unique place to stay. The hotel is in the old city, within easy walking distance of all of the main sites in Nazareth. Bassam and his parents were great hosts and were very friendly. Bassam gave us a lot of advice on places to see and on local restaurants. The hotel is built in an old building, and the history of how the family started the hotel is very interesting. Everything in our room was clean and comfortable, and there was a nice common sitting area just outside our door. I would definitely stay there again!
Nothing - everything was great!

Beautiful place at Nazareth old Town, few meters from all the important thing to do in the old town. The stuff (all the entire family) are incredible!
Definitely, we'll come back.

We loved our stay the Al Hakim Boutique Hotel. We were there for two nights in one of their budget rooms, and it was worth every penny. The hotel is a beautiful old Arab house, located very close to the Old City, and a three-mins walk to Mary's Well. Our hosts were warm, courteous, and friendly. We arrived a few hours before check-in, and our room was ready and we checked-in right away. Our room was on the first floor, in what I assume is a recent addition to the old building. The room and bathroom were of reasonable size, clean, comfortable, and tastefully done. The hotel also has a large breakfast place; we didn't actually have breakfast there, so I can't comment on the food, but I did see the breakfast spread, and it looked lovely. Cherry on the cake: a refreshing welcome drink upon our arrival, and an energizing coffee and cookie before our departure.
There was nothing that we didn't like but just a few pointers for future guest to keep in mind:
If you want a room with old stone walls etc, check with the hosts before you make the booking, don't just go by the picture that Booking shows.
The hotel is located uphill from the bus station. If you are bringing a lot of luggage, you might want to take a cab.
The hotel also has no elevators (obviously! it is an old family home). So, again if you have a lot of luggage or big suitcases, check with the hosts to find a suitable option.
