awesome host. reasonably fresh/modern. great breakfast. public parking available outside the property.

stairs to reach the room. no locks on bedroom door. a little hard to locate especially if reaching in the dark. no fan or aircon in the room. had to open the windows to let fresh air in (risk mozzies coming in).

Great host, homely & comfortable accommodation.

Had a wonderful stay here. The host is a very kind woman, incredibly helpful. I was slightly delayed arriving as I was doing a portion of the Via Francigena, and she was very helpful and responsive via message. Carrarra is slightly off the between track but you get tremendous views as you descend into the town. The accommodation itself is lovely, extremely comfortable, homely, and you get a great night's rest. Great options for breakfast in the morning and to fuel up for the day ahead.

Without a car, getting back up out of Carrarra is a little challenging by foot as there is a section of road which is a bit dangerous, but you probably shouldn't be walking it anyway!

Barely adequate

The breakfast was well prepared and abundant. The host was congenial.

When we walked into the property, we were shocked at how small the one room was (photo). This property is not suitable for 3 adults and the value for money is very low. The property is extremely hard to find. Its sign is hidden down at the end of a long driveway (in the photo), which was at the end of a long, twisty narrow street in the hills. That evening when we returned from dinner, it was very difficult to find our way back. I had booked for 3 adults and paid a premium cost for one night, which seemed appropriate for that requirement, believing we were going to get an entire apartment or at least two rooms. Instead the room we received was very very small for all 3 of us. It would have been small for two people as well. The small bed where my 16 year old son was supposed to sleep, though he was not able to, smelled bad, he said, though the linens were clean. The larger bed was small for two adults but not uncomfortable. However there was only one night table on the outside and none on the other side - so no lamp, no place to set my watch or book, which ended up on the floor. The bath, which was small and had no bidet, odd in Italy, was clean and the shower worked well with good pressure and hot water. However the towels, though clean, smelled musty. Fortunately our family is close knit and understanding, so we did not complain to the host at breakfast (coffee, juice, warm rolls, bread water, honey, jam, etc.), which was served outside on the patio.
