A bit far from Sigiriya town but doable with planning

Le jardin est un havre de paix , le calme, la piscine est agréable, la chambre est belle. Les dîners et petit déjeuner sont très bons. Le personnel est très agréable

there is no buffet. But they provide us satisfactory meals. Besides it was excellent stay, cool and clam. They are maintaining the room in excellent manner. I'm really happy about it. Staff is excellent and the way they treat for us is really good. I'm really glad for that.
WiFi connections were poor, and there were some unwanted noices from the neighbours in village.

Gorgeous stay in the middle of the jungle. Rooms are big and comfortable. The shower is super hot and powerful. The decoration all around is really relaxing. You can spot birds, squirrels. The breakfast was delicious but the top experience was the dedicated staff.
It's wasn't a problem for us because we had a private driver but it's a bit off the track so bear that in mind it will take you 15/20 min by car to the main area

Kuwera is a hidden jungle sanctuary, beautiful peaceful and intriguing. Every member of the lodge was kind, respectful and so helpful, it was a pleasure to meet all of them. The lodges are spacious, beds are super comfortable and the shower was amazing. We loved hanging out with the monkeys by the pool and spotting other wildlife in the garden. Every night we had a delicious Sri Lankan dinner who invited us into his kitchen, and breakfast was also perfect with fresh fruit, eggs and more. Couldn’t fault a single thing about Kuwera.

We were upgraded from a standard room to a deluxe bungalow which was very kind. Actually after having seen both options there's almost no point in booking a standard room. Kuwera Eco Lodge is a midrange verging on luxury lodge and the standard room is very basic, sharing a small terrace with another room. The deluxe bungalow in comparison is beautifully decorated, spacious, with a nice terrace with swimming pool view, a pleasant and modern bathroom with a shower with plenty of warm and cold water, and a bidet that will please every Italian and plenty of other guests. The king size bed is comfortable and romantic with its four poster mosquito net. The aircon is well placed and doesn't blow cold air on the bed.
The swimming pool was very large and particularly nicely shaped. We could have spent hours swimming or resting on one of the beach beds if only there weren't so many other stunning things to do around Kuwera Eco Lodge. The pool towels were thick and soft.
Now I have to write about the food served in Kuwera. What can I say? We travelled four weeks in Sri Lanka and as a foodie I'm quite finicky about meals. We ate well at many guesthouses and hotels and sometimes even very well. But nothing compared to what we got at Kuwera. Every morning we got a different breakfast. The main part was bread-butter-homemade jam + fruits + fruit juice or shake or smoothie but we got also every day different treats like crepes, cakes, roti, spicy salad, egg hopper, honey egg hopper, string hopper, coco sambol and so many more dishes I can't remember them all. And that's only for breakfast. Dinner was equally excellent. We got the inevitable rice and curry but so delicately and well spiced (we can stand spices quite well so we ask the cook to use spices "like they'd do for their family") and it was nothing like other curries we happened to eat in Sri Lanka.
Last but not least, what I really enjoyed at Kuwera were the chats we had with the waiter whose name I sadly didn't get. Beside the fact he was very interesting to talk with he was also a well-trained professional, always ready to cater for our needs. I also like to mention the owner of Kuwera, a well seasoned traveller from Sri Lanka. He told us that after being a tourist guide for years he had bought a patch of land with some Italians and created Kuwera. He was very welcoming and gave us some good pieces of advice as well as his view about the politics and economic crisis in Sri Lanka. When we finally checked out (we stayed two nights longer than booked), he drove us for free to Dambulla as he needed to be there anyway, which was very kind.
My stay at Kuwera was nearly perfect even if I'm possibly influenced by the fact I got a better room than I booked and didn't pay the full amount I would otherwise have. I almost cannot find any negative points in our stay but if I want to be comprehensive in my review I have to add the following points. We had asked for the room to be cleaned and they forgot. When we got back we had to ask again and the cleaning staff came immediately and did a wonderful job. In fact, I like to mention the efforts they made to prepare the bed every day with a different and beautiful manner of folding the bed sheet. The manager (not the waiter and not the owner) was not very pleasant. We saw him only two or three times but when he was there, everything was in disarray - like the room not being cleaned or charging us at checking out for something we hadn't agreed to before. When you book Kuwera you have to know that the lodge is in a small village and you'll have some noise (like music) from the surrounding houses. The music was never very loud and played for a short time. Just be aware you're not in a national park, there are people around even if most of the time you'll hear only birds and squirrels.

Wasantha and the hotel owner, Upasena, were both so welcoming, friendly, attentive and gave me loads of advice and help to me when I was planning my sight-seeing activities. The food was delicious and portions were huge. The room was beautiful and comfortable and the surroundings of the hotel are idyllic, so quiet that the only thing you can hear are tropical birds. They're also eco-friendly. Can't recommend this place enough, I'm dying to go back!
Nothing :)

One of our best stay in Sri Lanka ! We wouldn't expect such a beautiful hidden place there. The lodge is outstanding with the beautiful swimming pool. The breakfast & diner were delicious. Special thanks for your support when I hurt my foot.

The resort is a great place to relax for a couple of days and take some (short) trips to Sigiriya, Pidurangala or the surrounding national park. Next to the hotel is a small organic garden/farm where the hotel is growing its own organic food and everything in the hotel is based on the principle of a sustainable life.
During may stay for two nights I had a fantastic curry as well as an exceptionally good fish for dinner. The breakfast was also really nice and offered a selection of local (Sri-Lankan) and European dishes.
The service, the location, the food, the room - it all felt like being really welcome at this place. ;-)
absolutely nothing to complain about

love the feeling of being in the jungle
mosquitoes in the bathroom- but you are in a jungle…

We loved the location - slightly off the beaten track and in the middle of the jungle. The owner and staff were very kind and accommodating.

Nice location with amazing service by all the staff. The food was really good as well.

I really can't recommend this place enough. We stayed in many hotels during our 21 days stay on Sri Lanka and this one occured to be such a nice suprise and to be so beyond our expectations.
Firstly, the staff- is so great, friendly, helpful. They are all lovely, we felt like at home :)
As vegetarian they prepared us vegetarian curry (we requested it earlier) twice and for a great price (discount from non-veg dishes) and when talking about food.... it was so delicious. This was the first hotel we stayed in Sri Lanka and that time we didn't know that it would be one of the best curries we would have on Sri Lanka:) Breakfasts are also amazing- sri lankan omlettes, hoppers, dhal, pani pol pancakes, fruits, juices- so rich and so yummy.
Swimming pool- very relaxing and calm area. No music at all, only the sounds of nature. You can observe lot of squirels.
Rooms- clean, nicely decorated, the bathroom is also clean
Location- maybe it is not central, but the village surrounding is really nice, you can take bikes for free (maybe they are not in the great condition but it is a nice experience to use them and discover the village) and go to Pidurangala (it's very close, about 15 minutes ride), There is no problem with arranging tuk tuk tu Sigiriya which costs 1500 (both ways)- hotel arranges you whatever you ony want. They organized us a really nice Kurulu safari in attractive price.
Additionaly about the location- if that great food the location is not a problem in the evening because I can't find no reason to go and dine out. Do it at Kuwera and you won't regret.
To sum up- the hotel is little, hidden paradise with great surrounding, lovely people working there and delicious food.
Can't find anything not to like

The location is very secluded and peaceful, but the use of the free bikes meant we got to Sigiriya for free in 20 minutes and were able to explore the town at our leisure. The staff were very friendly when we arrived, and the food was really delicious - we asked to have curry for breakfast on the second day alongside western food which made it even better. Great environmentally friendly initiatives such as filling up a jug for drinking water and re-useable pots for shampoo / conditioner.
The bed linen was just a sheet and we tend to prefer duvets. The bikes could have been in better condition - the brakes weren't great!

We so enjoyed our stay at Kuwera Eco Lodge. We booked at the last minute as we were not happy where we were staying before. We couldn’t have made a better choice. It’s in a secluded location, which means you can relax. The pool and the area around it is lovely. The bungalows are simple but very comfortable. We visited Sigirya early morning on the one day we had there (we stayed two nights) and got back for a delicious breakfast at about 10am and the relaxed for the rest of the day. It’s about 20 minutes in a tuk tuk and Prasad, the manger of the hotel, took us and picked us up after 2 1/2 hours. The staff at the hotel are fantastic. Such nice people. Also the food is stunning. We had dinner there both nights & thoroughly enjoyed everything. It’s a set menu with a lot of the ingredients from their organic garden. The dinner costs a bit more than you might pay in a restaurant, but still cheap by western standards and worth every penny. We liked the ethos of the hotel of no plastic. There’s a water fountain where you can get drinking water. All in all a really memorable stay at a wonderful, small hotel.

Awesome resort with very friendly and helpful staff. Swimming pool for guests, big rooms and we had the shower outside, which was amazing. We had breakfast included in the price and it was perfect and we also ate dinner for 2 nights, also very good!
I would definitely recommend it!
Tucked away in the heart of the village, position is not ideal if you're looking to wander around Sigiriya for food in the evening, for example.
Can be quite expensive, for 2 nights stay including breakfast and we also had dinner ar the hotel, we spent around 200£.
