If you want a place close to Kotor but away from the cruise liner crowds, then I cannot recommend this house highly enough. It is a 10-15 minute drive/taxi (€6-€9) into Kotor so really not very far. After driving around the whole bay we decided we definitely chose the right location. The view from the front of the house is pure bliss, across the water to the mountains. Instructions to find the house were perfect, and it was useful to have a parking spot right in front of the house. The high ceilings give an impression of space as soon as you walk in, and the layout works well, with the two main bedrooms being on opposite sides of the living area. Wi-Fi was excellent, a necessity with a teenager in tow. The kitchen was well equipped and it was great to have a washing machine available. The bedrooms are huge, beds comfortable and storage space plentiful. The walk-in shower was also nice with shelving for toiletries. There is an A/C unit in the living area which cools down the main living area and bedrooms when all internal doors are left open. I loved being able to walk across the road onto the stone jetty and go for a swim in the warm, clear water of the Adriatic. Jadranka, the downstairs neighbour, cooked us some lovely, generously portioned, wholesome meals. We bought a Telenor tourist SIM for our mobile phones as Montenegro is not in the EU even though they use the Euro. For €10, you get 1000GB (yes, really!!) of data for 20 days usage. They're easy to set up and we found them really helpful while out and about as then we were able to communicate with Red Taxi, the local agent and other tourist places via WhatsApp. The 'house book' supplied by the owner was very informative with plenty of recommendations for local places to eat and things to do. We loved Bokeski Gusti restaurant, a 10 min walk north of the house, right on the water, and went there twice. Tanjga BBQ in Kotor was amazing too.
Nothing, everything was as good or better than expected

We travelled from Zabljak to Prcanj and the view as you come over the hill is breath taking. We stayed in three different locations in Montenegro and definitely left the best till last (although I can highly recommend a few days in Zabljak).
The apartment was beautifully furnished but comfortable and practical with children. We stayed as a family of 5 with three boys (15, 9, 9) and it was perfect. The kitchen was really well equipped but there are so many lovely restaurants in walking distance I didn’t bother cooking an evening meal. The balcony was great with a cup of coffee in the morning (I would recommend you take your own) and a G&T in the evening with a game of cards.
Wifi was fantastic. Unfortunately with a teenager life isn’t worth living if they can’t get online - especially once the sporting season kicks in. Although most of the time the boys messed around in the water, diving and making use of the dingy.
James was great all the way through and happily answered ridiculous queries leading up to our visit. His recommendations were spot on. Our favourite restaurant was Bokeski Gusti, a five minute walk to the left of the apartment. The boat man recommended by James wasn’t available but he put us in touch with his cousin, Dejan, who took us out on his speedboat for the morning. It was a great way of taking in the spectacular coastline.
Jadranka and her family were amazing. Not in the slightest bit interfering but there if you needed them. They are obviously the social focal point of the village. My husband had a fantastic morning sitting with the old boys drinking rakija!
Do not miss out on Jadranka’s cooking. Her breakfast lasted us a few days and the lamb was absolutely delicious. I would love the recipe if anyone has it!
I would also recommend using James’s car hire man, Bojan. Reviews of car hire companies from the airport were a little worrying so I was relieved to have a company recommended.
