The staff here are incredibly friendly. The breakfast and dinner were delicious and reasonably priced.

The owner was very kind and very understanding of our last minute changes (group size changed plus one before arrival and again plus 1 mid stay). The food was delicious, plentiful, and priced very reasonably (Lamb and pork Yakiniku, lots of sides, soup, all you can eat rice, and tea for 2500 yen). The hotel itself is a real cool old style Japanese cabin with exposed log cabin style framing. Conveniently located within a 20 minute drive from most resorts in Hakuba. Less than a 10 minute drive to a liquor/grocery store. Drying room for all your gear. Just all around cool spot, would definitely stay again. Also it's like 4000 yen per pax a night (plus heater fee 1800 per room a night).
Not a huge problem as it's super common in Japan and many large cities in other countries, but you have to be careful to separate all your trash. Burnables, plastic trash, the each type of recycling needs to be separated too.

It's a 300-year-old ryokan but had been renewed so you can both enjoy the style and feel comfortable staying!
The room was spacious for me. Kotatsu was the best 😆 I came on a snow storm raging day and the heating inside was excellent!
The bath is said to be water from the mountains which makes your skin feel smooth 😁 I guess it worked for me 😜 It takes turn for bathing but if coming as a group, you can enjoy the bath together.
The hosts were so friendly. They also helped clean the snow off my car 🙇
Car park was available and right at the front door.
There are not much around, so I would suggest staying in for meals, especially during snowy days. The meals were good too 😋

The host and her family went above and beyond anything we could have asked for. Such a kind group of people. Will definitely stay here again without hesitation.
Nothing.

The location was perfect for me. I enjoyed falling asleep listening to the sounds coming from the forest. I think this is a very special place and I would like to stay there again one day. The hosts were very friendly.
