Really great location, we were visiting my mother in law and this hotel is just around the corner from her home. Portknockie is a lovely place, Lorraine was super friendly with the dog and really helpful giving recommendations. Lovely view from our room - parking right outside the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to come back!
The bed was slightly uncomfortable for us however that's just a personal preference. The bed creeked a little when getting on and off it or turning over in th night, we didn't see any staff during our stay to let them know. For us this wasn't an issue at all as we were visiting family. We would both still book again cos our stay was lovely!

Victoria hotel is an older property situated a stones throw from the sea front in Portknockie. Inside there is a wide mahogany staircase leading upstairs to the bedrooms and rooms to the dining room, lounge bar and public bar off the corridor. We were welcomed into the hotel and shown directly to our room. It was a little chilly, but Lorraine went straight upstairs and sorted our radiator which was brilliant.
We were on the top floor and our room was clean and well presented. It had older style dark wood furniture in keeping with the rest of the property. The bed was comfortable with fresh white bedding. There have been other comments about squeaky beds - it does squeak, but it was so comfortable and cosy it did not affect us.
There is a small en suite shower room off the bedroom - slightly variable temperature on the shower but good water pressure especially for an older building. Fluffy white towels were provided and hand soap/ shampoo.
Breakfast is served downstairs - a continental style self-service and a hot option if you prefer it. This was cooked to order and the portions sizes were generous - and delicious. We had dinner in the lounge bar, where there was a choice of food including 4 vegetarian options, which was a great surprise. Huge portions of freshly cooked food and very reasonable prices. The public bar had a lot of local people drinking there, so obviously the beer is good. I had a local gin and tonic - Lorraine’s recommendation- and it was lovely.
We really enjoyed our stay. It is not a high end hotel, it is a comfortable, friendly and extremely good value hotel and I would not hesitate to recommend it for visitors to the area.

Quiet place, small village, good place to rest during trip, friendly staff, clean.. all good happy. Kind Regards

Location and the view from our room. Nice size also. Friendly staff
Breakfast not included, 5 pounds for continental seems pricey... not many options for dinner around

The room was large and quite luxurious with windows in two directions. We enjoyed the cliff walks and beaches.

Dinner was very good. The other two places in the village both close on the same days each week, leaving the hotel as the only option (and vice versa on other days, so that there is always somewhere to get dinner). Friendly staff. Safe place to store bicycles.
Everything was good. Didn't take breakfast (only a continental option).

Spotless key clean comfortable room. Lovely hostess. & a bonus that dogs are allowed. Very enjoyable stay.

It has a nice friendly atmosphere, lots of whisky’s to taste with a great guide (barman) and situated in an interesting town. Great food too 😋
The only thing was the shower-it was a bit cramped and the water didn’t drain away properly.

There was issue with one of toilet flush.

Comfortable room, good bed and shower.
Breakfast was OK. Two minutes walk from Bow Fiddle Rock.
I liked everything

Loved the location and peaceful setting. Easy walk to Bow Fiddle Rock trail and coastline. Comfortable and clean. Spacious rooms. Easy nearby parking. Great for one night.
Lots and lots of squeaky stairs, but it’s an old European building so not unexpected. There was nothing open in town in June so not sure if there are normally options for shops or restaurants other than the hotel. Need 2 chairs (only had 1) in room 7 and a mini fridge would be awesome.

Loved the warm friendly welcome, it was like a home from home. Fabulous meal and breakfast. We only stayed one night but really didn't want to leave. Portknockie itself is so peaceful, great to just stop and switch off from the world for a wee bit. Can't wait to go back.

Location was perfect and view from our room was stunning.
Our hosts were very friendly and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. The evening meal was very nice and reasonably priced.
There was nothing major at all just no hairdryer in room although one was available if asked for.

Very friendly host and also the locals in the pub downstairs were most friendly. The rooms and beds are oké. Dinner was prepared very well and tasted great. Overall our compliments 👍🏻
No eggs available with breakfast. The toilet in room nr.2 sounds like a plane toilet when flushing.

Clean and comfortable room with a lovely big bed. Lorraine was a great host, and the public bar was friendly with a great range of drinks available. The meal in the restaurant was tasty and wholesome with good size helpings.
The continental breakfast was good and plenty of choices but we would have liked some hot options

Very friendly and attentive host. Spacious, bright room. Quiet despite location in village centre. Nice bright breakfast room. Good value for money
Everything as advertised so no real complaints 😊. New beds/mattresses wouldn't go amiss sometime soon
