Mariano has a great place and he's a great host. The place is super unique, artsy and eclectic. Every room has a story and is completely different from the others. I also had dinner there which saved me from going out since it had been a long day of travel. If you like big dogs Leon is super cute and friendly! I highly recommend!
Leaving Leon😔

The place styled very well and surrounded by a lot of greenery, not your typical boring accomodation experience, nice rooms and super hot water in the shower, also the owner and the lady that is taking care of the guests are welcoming and nice :)
The place is a bit hard to find since there is no sign at the gate, that could be helpful

I loved everything about my stay! Mariano was an amazing host, always making sure we had the information we needed and felt welcome like at home.
The property is very close to the town center. The view is beautiful! And the rooms has a unique touch of art and relax ambience! IF you want to be out of the mass this is a perfect place to relax and be close to nature.
The garden of the hotel is breathtaking specially at night. Location is good to be out of the crowd of Medellin, great transportation conexions or uber.
All was excellent, no suggestions for improvement

The lady was not fair about the food.
She asked if I wanted dinner. It was pasta with 2 spoons of tomato sauce from a pot (and nothing else but tomato) and a fried egg and it was the least value for money in my 5 months stay in Colombia.
When I had to pay she said I had to pay for breakfast, but I showed her that it was included in the price. Then she raised the price for the dinner (she asked more than the price she said the day before).
I really don't like if people try to cheat me!
I don't recommend coming by motorcycle. You have to make a very sharp turn in the very steep hill and when it has rained it is very slippery!

The rooms were very spacious, Mariano is a very nice host and does his best to make sure you have a good experience. I was fairly sick with Dengue while staying at the property and they were attentive and looked out for me.
Everything has a price. I mean that nothing that Mariano does for you feels like its out of good will alone. My first night I was offered some left over Paella before dinner just to try...or so I thought. Two days later as we were calculating the bill I find out I was being charged for eating leftovers...only 20k, but still, had I known I wouldn'tve had any! It felt disingenuous...

The Bathtub on the balcony is great, the beds are comfy, it's quiet and the owner and staff is very nice :) I enjoyed the stay! Highly recommended if you want to relax a little.
There is not too much to do in the area, but that's nothing you can blame the owner for.

A lovely hostel with great hosts! They made me extremely comfortable, welcomed and well fed. The art and the foliage at this hostel are amazing! each room had its own theme and everything you needed. Stay here to enjoy the natural beauty that this country has to offer!
It was everything and more! No complaints, whatsoever!

The lady of the house (CiCi) was very attentive and detail oriented. The man of the house is very kind and welcoming. When I first met him he said, "Welcome Home"! The grounds, art, and décor was amazing. They can arrange a driver to take you wherever you care to go (Jaun.....hes super nice and a great driver!) The man of the house designed, built, and decorated the house. He (Mariano) even brought me a bottle of wine and serenaded me with his guitar. There are two great dogs as well ! I enjoyed exploring on foot in the area neighborhood. It was a very beautiful relaxing stay.
I believe travelers would appreciate telling them that when you offer them food, it will be an additional charge. I felt like the lady of the house was offering food that she had on hand and expecting me to eat. She seemed unhappy when I did not eat all the food she had given me. Then when I was preparing to leave I found out that I was being charged for the food . It was a bit surprising. I did not get to select the food; it was food taken from a pot previously cooked.

Staying at the Secret Buddha was perfect. Mariano and his friends are lovely! You can learn so much just talking to them. If you take the time to visit the local area you will get to see Medellin from the eyes of Colombians 10/10
