Wonderful homestay

Most tourists come to Haghpat for just the monastery. Then they will miss this pearl. We had an excellent stay at Mary's guesthouse. She was very welcoming and made us feel at home. She made a very delicious and authentic dinner. The village and it's surroundings are beautiful to wander around by sunset.

It was a little hard to find the guesthouse. Maybe an extra sign should be put in place.

This is the place to go to!

Comfortable room with a nice big terrace. But what was really great about our stay was Mary herself and also her mom. They prepared amazing breakfast for us, we had pleasant conversations and learnt a lot about Armenia. Mary welcomed us as if we were family friends and took care that we felt at home. Super host!

Great service

Mary and her family are amazing hosts. breakfast and dinner have been delicious. The location is in walking distance to the church. The rooms are basic and well kept. If you want more action and stores around, a stay in the next city is a better option. We loved to be away from the noise

Exceptional

Mary's house is charming, surrounded by trees and plants and with a very nice view over the valley. Mary and her family are very welcoming and caring. The dinner she cooked with her mother for us was delicious as well as the breakfast with armenian specialties and everything homemade. She was very helpfull and manage to find us a taxi driver to visit the whole debed valley and monasteries. Thank you a lot Mary :)

Incredible homelike rustic atmosphere in one of the most beautiful places in Armenia

The breakfast was out of this world. It was the most amazing spread consisting of homemade jams, cheeses, bread, sweets, etc. Sitting in the gazebo, overlooking an incredible view.

Nice base to get to know the area

Peaceful secluded place without car noise but with the sound of golden orioles in the garden (and throughout the village). Good food too and good service. Good walking opportunities nearby, as well as four monasteries. Staying only one night would be a mistake.

Basic, but very comfortable and well-equipped guest house with private bathroom and very tasty home-cooked meals. Perfect base to visit Haghpat and enjoy the Debed Valley. Nice terrace with good views and interesting home.

Magnificent stay

Everything was perfect during our stay. The host was super-welcoming and breakfasts were delicious. The room was cozy and clean. The location was also excellent allowing us to explore surrounding areas by car.

Mary is an angel. Her house is a family museum, she and her mother cook great food, if you’re lucky Mary plays the grand piano for you.

Place with a soul

Lovely guest house in Haghpat

I had such a lovely stay at this guest house! Mary is truly an exceptional host who goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the breakfast and afternoon tea set were excellent. Definitely do stay here while you’re visiting Haghpat!

Wish I could have stayed longer!

Wow, what an absolutely brilliant guesthouse. Mary and her mother are simply wonderful hosts, and you are made to feel welcome and at home as soon as you arrive. Beds comfortable, plenty of hot water, huge meals you’ll never have a hope of finishing, a property steeped in history and one that exudes ambiance. I wanted to stay here two nights, but it was only available for one! Thank you Mary, this stay was my best in Armenia and one I’ll remember forever!

Guest House Mary is a lovely place in the village of Haghpat. Mary and her mother are absolutely wonderful. They were so kind and helpful to us and they prepared the most sumptuous meals as well as afternoon tea each day with freshly made cakes. Tjhe rooms are very comfortable and quiet. A perfect place to stay in this area.
