Welcome to our beautiful Journey's End home, the ultimate Captiva Island vacation retreat. Journey's End is a stunning, three bedroom +, two bath 2000 sq ft villa that will comfortably sleep 2 - 8, located in the very desirable village area of world renowned Captiva Island. Journey's End is our family's second home and given that we live in Miami, we are blessed to be able to spend a great deal of time there. Because we are there so often, we have elevated the home to the highest possible standards with respect to comfort, quality and range of amenities. Recently remodeled and professionally decorated, our beautiful, three bedroom beach home is located in the heart of charming Captiva Island, an easy five minute walk to the village area of Captiva. Many lovely upgrades included such as Luxury plank tile flooring, French doors and plantation shutters just to name a few. Our home features a spacious, fully equipped Quartz topped Island kitchen with luxury stainless steel appliances including a side by side refrigerator/freezer with ice and water in the door, ceramic topped range and large over the range microwave. Since this our family's second home, we provide items not usually found in the kitchen of a typical 'rental home'. Here we provide you with a new coffee maker with a plentiful supply of high quality Colombian coffee, non dairy coffee creamer and two types of sweetener (sugar and splenda) . You will also be glad to know that you won't need to purchase salt or pepper, herbs and spices, foil paper, foil trays, saran wrap or paper towels. Hungry? Use our Panini sandwich maker to prepare a delicious hot sandwich to satisfy the afternoon munchies or use our Belgian waffle maker to prepare fresh waffles in the morning.
We have a new Samsung 55 inch Smart TV in the living room for your viewing pleasure. In the two master bedrooms, we have two new large screen ( 50 inch in the upstairs master, 40 inch in the downstairs master ) Samsung smart televisions, allowing you to use our free WIFI to utilize our NetFlix account to access their inventory of 40,000 movies to instantly stream movies directly to your TV. In addition, we also have an extensive DVD library, and a large collection of books for reading in one of our three lanai's, or in our comfortable hammock or on the beach.
Our Villa's downstairs master bedroom is appointed with a brand new king sized bedroom set along with a new luxury mattress ( not the typical rock hard bed found in most rentals ) and 600 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets and brand new luxury pillows guaranteeing a great nights sleep. Adjacent to the bedroom is a fully remodeled bathroom with Marble, frameless glass shower, Quartz topped vanity, stand alone soaking tub and stocked with new thick, ultra soft towels and a hair dryer. Outside of this bedroom is a private screened in lanai with a pair of comfortable rocking chairs surrounded with tropical foliage.
The upstairs master bedroom of our beach villa also features a new bedroom set with luxury King Sized bedding, 600 thread count sheets, new pillows and a fully remodeled bathroom with marble shower, frameless glass shower enclosure, hair dryer and new white towels. Step through the french doors of the upstairs master onto your private sun/moon deck to lounge on our comfortable Adirondack chairs. Picture yourself sitting outside the master bedroom of our lovely beach home at the end of a fun filled day toasting the moon and stars with a glass of wine. The loft outside the Master Bedroom is fitted with two new twin beds and a comfortable over-stuffed chair. This is the perfect place for the kids to sleep, close enough for parents to keep an eye on things while still allowing parents the privacy they need to fully enjoy the romantic setting of Captiva.
Finally, we've recently added new living room and dining room furniture. The living room includes a queen sized sleeper sofa with a 3 inch memory foam mattress topper to make the sleeper as comfortable as a regular mattress. Outside of the living room we have our largest lanai, fully screened in, with a two large chairs w/ ottomans, a sofa and coffee table and a table with 4 chairs. This lanai is the perfect space to take your morning coffee while listening to the many birds that live in our fully grown tree canopy that surrounds this beautiful private space.
On the ground floor, underneath our beach villa, you will find two custom made fish inspired bench swings that are delight for young and old to gently swing on. We also have a full size hammock, big enough for two which is an ideal spot to read one of the 100+ books that we provide for you in our library. Our ground level beach storage area has everything needed to fully enjoy our world class private beach. There, we keep beach chairs, umbrellas, a very wide selection of every conceivable beach/sand toys, a cooler, beach floats, noodles and finally a cart with which to carry everything to the beach. Also on the ground level of our home, you will find 4 adult bikes for cruising around Captiva's beautiful tree lined lanes, 2 kayaks and two stand up paddle boards for use either on our beach or on the bay. Finally, on the ground level, we have our game room where you can find a pool table with a ping pong topper so that when you are not at our beautiful beach or our pool area you can still have a full entertainment experience. Delight in spotting the Dolphins, Manatees, birds and fish that inhabit our beautiful slice of paradise. We also provide you with a wheeled kayak cart and life vests for you safety.
Just a two minute walk to our pristine, private beach, via our private boardwalk and only a 30 second walk to the heated swimming pool. Our beach home is located in the heart of Captiva village. Park your car upon arrival and stroll over to 6 restaurants, shops, boat, wave runner and bike rentals, parasailing and many other beach related activities. We also have a small general store nearby for anything that you might need during the week.

We stayed about a month ago, and had a fantastic time. Very short walk to the beach and pool. The house was actually a little nicer than some pictures. I think a lot of things got redone after the hurricane a couple years ago. Beds were all comfortable too.

Fantastic house for 2 parents and their college-aged kids. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed for a week at the beach. The game room had a pool table which we used every evening (be aware, no ping pong top yet while we were there). Game room/half bath is new construction and has a lot of potential. There were a couple tennis racquets but we mostly played pickleball with the provided set. The courts are newly re-done and in perfect shape. The pool and beach were beautiful and just a couple minutes walk. The small town is coming back nicely after the hurricane—enjoyed meals/treats at The Green Flash, Mucky Duck, Sunshine Seafood, Cantina Captiva (still a food truck but indoor dining coming soon) Captiva Pizza (limited hours, order early if you can), and Boops, all within easy walking distance. We also went to the Sanibel and Captiva farmers markets, well worth your time (best guacamole and ceviche ever, and Molly Malone’s had the best crab cakes and other seafood). Timbers on Sanibel also worth a stop for fresh seafood to cook at home, which we did a few nights, kitchen was stocked with all the essentials. The Island Store is very limited but fine for convenience items (and booze); stock up on groceries at Publix prior to arrival.
Omar was extremely responsive and took care of any minor issues immediately. He went above and beyond to ensure we had a great vacation. We hated to leave Captiva and hope to return. Lovely stay!

We had a wonderful time in this lovely home. Owner was great to work with and the house was immaculate. Great communication and the house had great immunities. Beautiful beaches and unbelievable sunsets. Short walking distance to store and restaurants. Would definitely come back and highly recommend this house to stay in.

Newly renovated and very easy to live in for a family vacation by the beach. We've stayed in this beach front community previously and the pool and quick access to beach and several island restaurants is perfect. This particular home is equiped with all the gear for the beach - towels, chairs, umbrellas, a cooler and even bikes; a well stocked kitchen - spices, zip lock baggies, foil and even a sandwich press; as well as a full washer and dryer with laundry detergent available. Our family of 6 was very comfortable all week and we would reccomend!

This home has been recently remodeled and even better than the listing. The host was in contact prior to check in and after. The location is perfect. Steps to the beach, which has amazing sunsets. There is a lovely pool to enjoy. It is walking distance to grocery store, YOLO, Mucky Ducks, Bubble room coffee and dessert cafe, and Starbucks. We highly recommend this accommodation.

We have stayed at Journey’s End three times and it feels like coming home. Beautifully furnished, comfortable and spacious. Along with the Sunset Captiva facilities of pool, bbq and boardwalk to the beach, we had everything we needed for a wonderful holiday. Following Hurricane Ian last year, Captiva is in great shape with restaurants and bars open. George, the Captiva Sunset “groundsman” works so hard to keep the site immaculate. Thanks again Otmar for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home.

This is our first time staying in Omar's residence, but it was probably one of the nicest homes that we have rented in Sunset Captiva. You can immediately tell that he has taken great care to optimize the space. The renovations look REALLY nice. The layout was wonderful, and the 2 twin beds on the loft were clutch. He had everything we needed, beach towels, TONS of beach gear, TP, laundry and dishwashing supplies, and more. The owner was also very responsive and even left us a message once we arrived to ensure that everything was going ok. We will FOR SURE be renting from Omar again.

The house is amazing and location is great! We don’t have a single negative thing to say, but two
suggestions - the cooler is broken and you can’t transport it without putting in the wagon and then your chairs won’t fit and you have to carry them. Also, the bikes are nice to have but they all had flat tires and there’s no pump that we could find at the condo. A very nice guy at the island store filled them for us, but with all the limited stores and gas stations closed, we wouldn’t have been able to use them without this nice man who helped. Other then those two very minor things, we had a wonderful time and would definitely rent this house again!

Better than advertised. The host has recently renovated the property and the photos on Expedia/VRBO did not include the renovations. The host was very responsive to a concern I had regarding beach chairs and he provided new ones on the same day. The property is located very close to the beach (2 minute walk) and the marina (2 minute walk). The property included bikes, kayak, and a paddle board. It was off-season so some of the restaurants on the island were not open and some are under construction due to the hurricane from 9/22. But plenty of activities to do in the area.

This is the perfect getaway with plenty of space in the house and convenient to everything on Captiva. Omar is an extremely attentive owner who provides everything you need for a wonderful vacation. The kitchen is well equipped with extras like spices, tin foil, plastic wrap, trash bags, etc, It doesn’t stop there as when you go downstairs outside, there are paddle boards, kayak, beach chairs, umbrellas, beach toys and floats, and a couple nice porch swings for relaxing in the evening. This is one of the nicest beach house rentals and owners I have dealt with in my 25+ years vacationing in Florida! You will not be disappointed when you select this house rental and work with this owner! First class and 5 stars!

This was my first time visiting Captiva Island and it definitely won’t be my last! My family and I loved it. We were beyond happy with our stay and Omar made the trip all the more special. The convenience of the homes location is PERFECT. Everything is a street or 2 down. A little mart, gift shops, restaurants, coffee and breakfast, rental area for activities. Everything you need is down the street. Let’s also not forget the most important part: The beach. The beach is so amazing as well, literally steps away from the house. The customer and restaurant service in Captiva is amazing. Everyone is so kind it makes our hearts warm. We tried all but one restaurant while we were at our stay which was The Shipyard (we didn’t have enough time to try) but I kid you not, there was not one place where we didn’t like the food or the service. Everything and everywhere was just perfect. You guys will feel right at home. The house also has everything you need so you don’t have to buy anything for the kitchen. The waffle maker and panini press was our favorite part. Everything was so clean and spotless, and the house smelled amazing walking in. Above all, Omar was super responsive, respectful and helpful, we couldn’t ask for a better host and property during our trip. We plan on returning very soon and staying at the same property as well.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It is located at the center of the Island. It was a very easy walk to the pool, beach, restaurants, and the marina. We love spending time at the beach and seeing the sunset. The property may need a bit of TLC, but other than that we would consider return again soon! Thanks Omar!

Quiet community and relaxing stay
My family stayed at this home for a week in July. (4 adults and children 8 and 11). It was our first visit to Sanibel/Captiva. Home offered everything we needed, plenty of space. We made great use of the bikes( this offered a great independent activity for my son, plenty of space for him to ride around the comminity), beach chairs, umbrella, paddle boards and kayaks. Netflix and plenty of dvds to watch, screened in porches for relaxing meals. Plenty of the neccessities provided to use. Across the road you can access the marina, at Jensen's each evening the manatees are there. Highly recommend a rental car to explore Sanibel beaches, museum, restaurants, etc. Doc Fords was a wonderful restaurant and the grocery stored offered everything you would need. Jensen's Marina for a private charter to Cayo Costa, found lots of sand dollars and shells, practically have the beach to yourself. Blind pass beach difficult to access due to limited parking. IMO, Sanibel side offers more shells. Community and beach are quiet and offered a relaxing stay. Overall, wonderful stay.

We couldn't be more happy with the rental property and all of the amenities that it had to offer. Omar was quick to respond to our questions and was genuinely interested in the quality of our stay. We can't wait to visit again!!!

Great location, nice property
The "village" is quite nice with a pool, short walk to the beach, and close to a few shops & restaurants. It's a safe and relaxing place to stay. The property was fine, maybe not the best value for the money, but that is probably as much of my fault as anything.

What a wonderful week at a truly wonderful place and spot on Captiva. The location was perfect and the home extremely comfortable, especially suited for two couples with the 2 master suites, great outdoor screened patios, a wonderful beach theme and all the appliances and gadgets available to enhance our stay. Omar our host, was so helpful and we took him up on recommendations for restaurants in the area and were not disappointed. He also put us on to an area where we could watch the sunrise and I am so glad he did. Both the sunsets and sunrises are spectacular, with the beach only a very short walk from the home. We also made use of the BBQ's and pool. If you are looking for comfort in a wonderful setting, then this is the place for you.

This is a great property. It’s in close proximity to the beach. The house is kept well maintained, and the owner is very responsive. The lanais provide a lovely space to relax and unwind. Perfect location to walk to restaurants. A very relaxing Island vibe.

Best stay ever on Captiva!
Omar is the most gracious host I’ve experienced in all of my years visiting Captiva. He is very accommodating and answers questions quickly. Love that this rental is so well stocked with provisions. I usually buy laundry and kitchen cleaning supplies and paper products and was pleasantly surprised that there were plenty of provisions available.
The beds were heavenly. I slept like a baby. All of the furnishings were high quality. Omar provides plenty of beach equipment not to mention the kayaks and paddle boards! Our family had so much fun. And not having to arrange for bike rentals is definitely a bonus. Will definitely rent this units again!

This was our second trip to the homes of Sunset Captiva. We have found this location to be great.
The community of Sunset Captiva makes sense to us to feel like we are in a home and not stuck in a hotel room. Pool,beach,restaurants are all walking distance. The two master bedrooms worked well for us. Four adults. We hope to be back again soon.

We have vacationed three different times in Captiva. The house on 26 Urchin was the best overall experience. The location was within walking distance to some fun restaurants on Andy Ross and a couple minutes to the pool or beach. Our party of five had plenty of space. The beds provided nights of comfortable rest, the laundry room meant we were able to pack light, and the fully stocked kitchen allowed us to prepare some quick breakfasts or lunches. You can walk a couple of minutes to YOLO and rent wave runners or set up time to parasail. We also walked to McCarthy’s Marina where we took a shelling trip. The location and size of the house was just perfect for a relaxing beach vacation. I would not hesitate to book this rental again. Omar was a perfect host and provided us with helpful guidance and communication.

Simply Paradise
Omar has everything organized and available to ensure you will have an easy and great vacation. The house was a perfect place to stay. Sunset Captiva is a beautiful area and is perfect if you have older kids and littles. We had a blend and they all loved it. Beds are comfortable. Plenty of towels, supplies and kitchen equipment. Just as explained. There were also a few other surprise accommodations that weren't listed that made our stay even better. We would definitely stay at this property again.

Great Neighborhood
This was our second stay in Sunset Captiva which is a great neighborhood with swim/tennis and beach access. This house was nice, a little more dated in person than the pictures portrayed. It is advertised as a 4 bedroom but there are only 3 bedrooms (bedroom on main with full bathroom across the hall, master upstairs and two twin beds in the open loft area). Owner was very responsive to a couple of small issues that we had. Overall, house was decent and location was good.

Exactly what we needed!
Omar is very professional and responsive, and the house is great. Just as pictured, very clean with comfy beds. We loved the location because it was a short walk or golf cart ride to the pool, and then a short walk down the boardwalk to the private beach. The complex is lovely - well maintained. Even the grills! You may want to take inventory of the kitchen before you embark on a real cooking project - we didn't find any dry measuring cups, measuring spoons, or small/medium mixing bowls. There's plenty of everything else. We would 100% stay here again and recommend to friends and family.

Fabulous Property and Perfect Captiva Location
House was perfectly located - within walking distance to great restaurants and about 100 yards from the beach. The community had a great pool (super clean) with plenty of chairs and umbrellas. The beach access is private so the beach was never crowded. We regularly had osprey flying around and could see dolphins in the surf. The house was perfect for a family getaway - we had 6 adults which included our 3 adult children and son-in-law and we all had plenty of room. It was spotless upon our arrival and contained every advertised amenity. The air conditioning worked great and the screened in porch was perfect for morning coffee and relaxing with a book. The kitchen appliances were modern and new, and the beds/mattresses were incredibly comfortable (would put the mattresses and linens on par with an upscale hotel). The bath towels were plush and comfy, and we were provided with large, high-quality beach towels so we did not have to pack any! Omar provides exceptional communication and service, and made sure to check in to make sure everything was as expected - when we found 2 broken beach chairs he replaced them immediately. The house also comes with bikes, paddleboards and kayaks and accompanying life vests. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Captiva!

Great layout in a great community. Perfect for six people. Quiet place close to pool and beach. Fully equipped with beach umbrella, chairs, sporting equipment, bikes, etc. couldn’t have asked for more.

Great house, host and location
Our family of five had a fantastic time at Omar's house. The beach community of Sunset Captiva is beautifully maintained, the private beach is splendid, and the house was cozy and beautifully decorated. Omar is a gracious host who is easy to communicate with. I would highly recommend this house to anyone who loves the beach, pool, tennis, and being close to a quaint neighborhood of restaurants and beach shops. We hope to stay again sometime soon!

No problems with getting there and getting in . Everything you need is there and waiting great balconies. Great location to captiva restaurants. I received a call from owner to make sure things were ok .
