We loved the location of the house, the ease of accessing the house, and the fact that the house had everything we needed. We will definitely consider staying here again! We highly recommend visiting the Dillsboro area and staying at the Reed house when you do!

Perfect for 2 but can handle more. Great yard and outdoor space. Nice fenced yard for folks with dogs. Fantastic location.

This was a great place to just relax and enjoy the beautiful area.
The Hosts were great and I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a quaint place to stay.
It is located close to great restaurants, breweries, shopping and fishing!

This home is convenient to EVERYTHING in Dillsboro, NC! Very nicely kept, beds were comfortable, and it was very clean. 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. Note there is a bathroom on each floor, and both bedrooms are upstairs. There are stairs from the parking area to the home. Even though the home isn’t central H&A, there were wall/window AC units and fans that worked very sufficiently. Wi-Fi worked great, and there is a nice DVD selection to choose from. We enjoyed the outdoor furniture and the quiet of a small town. There is a swing, chairs and a fire pit in a fully fenced in yard. Our dog was in heaven! I would definitely recommend this home and can see myself returning to stay again.

Location was ideal to explore thoroughly the small towns of Dillsboro [done on foot] and Sylva [car ride of 2 miles].

We loved the porch and patio. Rarely stayed inside because the location and yard were perfect. Easy walk to many restaurants and shops. Great for 3 women in our 50s-60s to catch up relax and explore the area. The stairs to the house and stairs in the house were alot after a day of walking, but id do it again anyways!! Great hosts, well equipped home and comfortable.

This is a great location. An hour to Ashville and less than 30 minutes to Bryson City and to the casino at Cherokee. Also literally downtown Dillsboro . Sylva right next door. If you want an upscale restaurant definitely try the Chefs Table in Sylva.

The Reed House is perfect for those wishing to park and stay to visit Dillsboro. It, however has limitations for those who are physically challenged by age or condition. To walk to the town, you must walk to steps across from the post office and cross Haywood, which is a very busy street. When arriving you must park well overhead of the Reed House and walk down several steep stairs to get to the back yard to unload, and then uphill to get loaded again when leaving.. I'm 77 with good legs but bad back, so it was a challenge as I'm a solo travel, but I made it. The home is precious and well appointed. Another challenge is that both bedrooms are upstairs once you enter the home. But if you are not physically challenged, it's the perfect spot to see and enjoy Dillsboro.

Perfect location to walk around town. We were limited on indoor living space as there were four humans and three dogs staying but there was plenty of space in the fully fenced yard for us to lounge around. The beds were comfortable and home was will equip for the fur babies.
Note to anyone staying here: if there is dew or if the ground is wet at all, walk down the steps to the house slowly and use the hand rail. We had a slip and fall resulting in a sprained ankle.

I have filed a report on this stay. The owner knew we would not have water service for 10 hours and did not let us know. We could not shower or use the commodes. It was terrible. When we called the owner and demanded a refund for the one night, she told us to call Vacasa. Horrible experience. We did contact Vacasa and so far have not received a determination of a partial refund from them.

Our family of 4 (and dogs) loved staying here for the Dillsboro luminaries weekend in Dec. Within walking distance to some great restaurants and shopping, fully stocked and beautifully decorated for the holidays, we couldn’t have asked for more. The owners were local and very responsive and easy to work with. Already looking to book next year!

There were 3 adults and 2 kids on our recent trip. This house has a cute kitchen, comfortable beds and had plenty of room for us. I think it is more well suited for a younger family. Two of us have some knee issues and the back steps were a little rough. (the listing does mention the steps). Other than that, it was good.

Wedding Detail Visit
We stayed at the Reed House while doing all our last details for my daughters wedding at Parker Mill in July. It was perfect! We had lots of scheduled meetings in town and it was so nice and convenient to be right in town! We just wish we’d had more time to just sit and enjoy the views!

Cute house, but noisy area
I enjoyed my stay at the Reed House. It’s old but in good shape and clean. My only complaint was the noise factor from the road out front, but that’s no reflection on the owners. It was all day and night that you heard loud cars and trucks driving by. Hard to sleep through that.

Charming old house in the heart of Dillsboro.
The house itself is cute as can be. It is a really old house so the stairs are narrow and there is some creaking. It was clean and well stocked with linens and other things. The rooms are small like the olden days but plenty of room for a family. My dogs loved the fenced in yard so did I. They even left me some Valentine’s candy.
The only thing I did not care for was the very loud freeway in front of the house. I do not know why the administrators of this town are not enforcing the 20 mph speed limit with speed humps or other.
The traffic on this road was the worse thing about the trip.
Overall I had a great time and loved the Reed House.

perfect location
we will definitely stay at the REED house again. 1.) the LOCATION was exceptional. No need for a car in Dillsboro and a sweet town to walk around, have a bite, a drink. Very safe. A hop-skip-jump to sylva (2-3 min drive) whick is a great shopping town .2.) very clean 3.) the beds were SUPER comfortable 4.) The REEDS decorated (super kitch) for Christmas inside and out making it so fun an d5.) LOCATION LOCATION. One needs to note that this is an original little farmhouse in the mountains and as such you should expect the quirkiness of a place like this. Tiny staircase and lower ceilings upstairs; slant to the floors. So, if your handicapped in any way this is really not the place for you; many stairs to walk down to get into the house. BUT if you do not have any difficulties...by all means, this is a darling cottage mountain get away! We will definitly be back. We were there for lights and luminaries ; very quaint and old school atmosphere. Loved it!

Quaint, Comfortable, Convenient!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Reed House. It took a little bit to get accustomed to heating the house, but we were able to manage it after the first day. The views were surprisingly good, and with one of the best BBQ places right across the street you can't ask for much more.

Awesome house in a sweet little town.
Great location, right in between Waynesville and Cherokee, fast access to Blue Ridge Parkway and lots to explore in Dillsboro and Sylvia. The house is cozy, and puts you front and center to all that Dillsboro has to offer in a minutes walk.

Cozy Home!
Great stay. Convenient to downtown Dillsboro shopping and restaurants. Also, convenient to Sylva, Bryson City, Cherokee, Maggie Valley, etc. There are steps down to the house they were not bad at all. Reed House was decorated for fall, very cute. Would definitely stay again. Keep in mind this house is 115 years old. It is modern and up to date, however, the stairway upstairs is narrow and steep. My sisters and I enjoyed our stay.

Perfect for our family of 5
We were in town for a wedding. Just needed a home base to sleep, change, and decompress in between family activities. We got so much more with this cute little house. Loved sitting on the porch right across from downtown. Love the festive fall decorations. And it was nice to be able to bring our small dogs along to run in the yard with the kids and not have to pay for a kennel. We hope to come back again.

Great location clean property
Everything was there and a great location.
Just FYI the grill is not gas like the listing says it’s charcoal.
Only down side to the place is the 2 recliners in the living room are totally worn out and so uncomfortable there was 2 open days after our check out date that we going to call and stay but the recliners so horrible we went to another cabin.

Nice house, centrally located in Dillsboro
We like that the house was centrally located and clean. It was only about 20 minutes to Bryson City, Cherokee and Western Carolina university. It's small but comfortable with a nice front porch with rocking chairs and a patio in the back.

This little house was a prefect stay for our one year anniversary. It is located perfectly in the mountains just a short drive to so many attraction's just a 20 minute drive to Cherokee, NC. We visited The Native Indian Museum and shopped. It is also 20 minutes from Bryson City, NC which we road the Great Smokey Railway on the open car, it was wonderful. It is only one hour away from Ashville, NC where we visited the Biltmore Estates, we will be going back. The house was so very comfortable, and had everything you would need. the kitchen is so wonderful to have everything to prepare meals. I would diffidently stay here again. The only thing that I would like to share is that there was a lot of stairs down to the house from the parking. I didn't realize there was so many. I am heeling from a knee injury it was a little difficult for me and the stairs up to the bedrooms. This might be something to share on the description for those who may have trouble with stairs. I loved it and would still love to stay again. Thank you to the Reed's. For taking a trip to Dillsboro in June 2006 and coming back in Dec. 2006 finding it for sale and purchasing little house, and doing you own "This Old House" episode.Thank You from the Bryant's.

Our second stay!
We love the location. With adult children in the group, they could go do their thing (walk to river, eat, etc.) We love the location in proximity to other things in the area. We love the cabin!

Adorable Home!
We had a great stay at The Reed House and would return in a heartbeat! The small, cozy home is welcoming and well-equipped, with thoughtful details throughout. The fenced-in yard was perfect for our kids and they had a great time watching birds, bees and butterflies. The home is perfectly located for those who prefer to walk to restaurants and stores, but with that convenience comes lots of road noise from motorcycles and souped up trucks, which seem to be quite popular in this area.
The Reeds were kind and helpful, and were responsive when an issue arose. It was a great stay!
