Spacious room, helpfuk staff but the neighbourhood was not great and I don’t think it’s worth the exorbitant price!

Spacious rooms and great views form the rooftop!

Really hard to get to since cars don’t fit through the streets. House of MG put me in the Haveli that was very far away from the main building even though I had booked the one closer to the main cafe.

Loved staying here--in the middle of the old city.

Great location if you want to be in the Old City. Accommodations are comfortable. Staff wonderfully attentive,

Have to go to another facility for breakfast via transportation provided by the hotel (one-way) . Not everything worked all the time--but staff more than accommodating to fix.

breakfast at the other facility was good. Staff very helpful. If you want to be in the Old Town, this is.

Breakfast at another facility more than a mile away. Safe didn't work in my room--refrigerator and tea kettle in my friends. Linens weren't clean. English not spoken well.

Not a ideal place for work related visit. Nice place if you are a tourist and interested in knowing the old city.

Superb

Extraordinarily beautiful property with lots of character. The Haveli is located a 10 min rickshaw drive from the main hotel (note to other guests to check in to House of MG, not the Haveli), and is a beautifully restored property in the middle of the old town. The rooms are big, spacious and artfully decorated. The bustling market is just walking distance away. The staff at the main hotel were great, arranging an amazing last minute tour of Ahmedabad and surroundings.

The breakfast in the main hotel can be improved, especially the service which was chaotic for 2 days. The buffet is not replenished fast, it takes 10-20 minutes to find someone to set the table. There is a lot of staff members but there does not seem to be someone organising them to help the guests. For a hotel of this caliber, this is something that can definitely be improved.

Amazing stay at a Traditional, Gujarati Haveli

Staff is very friendly, always a helping hand, thanks to Rahul. Absolutely neat and clean rooms. Good to reach ""The House of MG" first and look for Auto rickshaw (offered by Hotel also at no cost) for drive to Haveli. Enjoy street food at adjoining Manak Chok starting 10pm.

Being in heart of the city, expect crowd during in and out from the Hotel. Provision a bit extra time.

Location wise, this is completely personal choice. It is right in between the market area. It is really nice to see the lifestyle of people within the walled city of old times! However, it is quite noisy as well. The property is very close Manek chowk with excellent choice of street food. Property wise: Staff and hotel policies are very good. We came in at 9AM and they gave us the room as it was not occupied, without any extra charge. Any information was given without much effort. Staff is very approachable. Property is tidy.

One big drawback is that the breakfast is not served in the restaurant. We had to travel 2 kilometres to the main hotel. The breakfast spread in the main hotel is very good, but it is an effort especially with the kids. Even checkout happens at the main hotel. Reaching the hotel is a challenge. Although you are just 10 mins away from the railway station, you must take an auto. Cabs cannot reach this property. If you head out anywhere in Ahmedabad, heading back to the property is a challenge since almost all autos avoid driving in the tiny lanes of Manek Chowk. One auto left us 500m away from the property as the roads were jammed due to Sunday market.

Beautiful hotel in the Old City

The building is beautiful, rooms are really quaint and it is conveniently located in the heart of the Old City (taxis can't access it)

The staff is not really helpful (except at the main House of MG) and the food in the café downstairs is not good

The room was clean. And staff helpful within the limitation of the property.

The location of the property and the lack of services/amenities in the property. The place is located in the old town and is not easily accessible. On more than one occasions an Uber/ rickshaw drivers could not find the hotel and/or other rickshaw drivers refused to take us to and/or from the hotel. It caused frustration and importantly wasted time when touring the city. Further, the bedroom overlooked a building rubble and a rubbish dump and therefore, could not open the curtains even in the daylight. (See below) Also, the hotel lacked adequate catering facilities and the price (relatively expensive for Ahmedabad) included breakfast. However, the breakfast was poor lacking in quality or choice - for example, menu was not made available, had to ask for items to see if they had any (e.g. cereal - had ‘soft’ stale cornflakes, no eggs), hardly any choice, one item of cooked Indian snack, hot water for tea served in a milk judge which didn’t fill a cup etc. No lunch or dinner available. On the first night, the hotel agreed to bring a takeaway from their main hotel which took well over hour and half. The staff tried to be helpful but they could do nothing about the fundamental problems of location and inadequate facilities including catering.

A lovely accommodation, but need to work out your check our procedures.

The room was beautiful and the staff opened up the roof terrace for my group t rehearse before a performance the next day.

The check out was a nightmare. After breakfast, we tried to check out, but were told we had to wait. I thought they were bringing a front desk person to process our bill, but a shuttle arrived after 15 minutes (we were already late for our meeting), to take us to another location to pay our outstanding bill of 500+ rupees. I was told that reason was that our location could not process credit cards. When I explained that I was paying cash, they had no answer. We were very late for our meeting and were extremely embarrassed.
