About this house rental
West Haven House is on a private, 1/2 acre lot. It is easy to unwind here after a full day of the many activities offered in the Portland area. The location is the best of both worlds, with loads of privacy, yet only approximately a 10 minute drive to Portland's Pearl District.
The yard is full of large trees and there is grass in the front and on the side for the children to play. West Haven House is located in a lovely, quiet neighborhood.
The house itself is extremely comfortable and clean. The beds are brand new. The master bedroom has a large walk in closet and a spacious spa like bathroom. The soaking tub is the perfect place to relax. The second bedroom has a high end queen mattress. The third bedroom has two great quality mattresses. Four of the bedrooms are upstairs and the fifth bedroom is downstairs. It feels like you are in a tree house with the view out to the yard! The bonus room has a queen bed and daybed with a trundle bed. There is also a second bathroom in the hall upstairs. Two bathrooms are upstairs and there is also a full bathroom downstairs. There is a hairdryer. All of the linens are newer and good quality. The large bonus room has a television and lots of room for the children to spread out and have their own space. The house is very family friendly.
The washer/dryer are upstairs. The fully stocked kitchen is downstairs. The kitchen is open to the dining room, which leads into the very comfortable living room, with a 50 inch television and gas fireplace. The windows throughout the house look into the private yard with plenty of trees. You may even see deer wandering through the yard!
Cable and high speed wireless internet are provided. The house has central air, although it stays very cool in the summer with all of the trees. The house is within one mile of the MAX Light Rail, that takes you to the zoo, downtown, out to the airport, etc. Market of Choice, a beautiful brand new supermarket, is about 1.5 miles away. New Season's Market is also close, as well as Costco, a movie theater, many restaurants and shops.
West Haven House is the perfect place to peacefully unwind after a fun day in the City or up at the mountain.
WE DO NOT ALLOW EVENTS AT THIS HOUSE. The neighborhood is very quiet. We also do not allow smoking or pets. Parking available for maximum of 4 cars. Check in time is 3pm. Check out is 11am.

The house was located in a quiet, forested area. Local population included a family of deer and 3 fawns. they came to visit every day.
There were 5 rooms, including a very spacious master bedroom with a huge bath and walk in closet.
All the amenities were available and in working order.
there was enough room for my family of 10 to be bedded in their own rooms and with a lot of space for communal cooking and meals.
A very big back yard, rimmed with trees, was the perfect setting for games and water play in the hot weather.
Family though this was the best of the BNBs we've stayed in over the last few years.

Nice big house in a forest setting. Enjoyed sunshine on the sheltered patio, sat by the warm fireplace during the cool mornings. We didn’t cook but the kitchen was well equipped. Very useful to have a washer and dryer upstairs. We enjoyed our stay and felt fortunate to have found the place on VRBO. Very cool to have a doe and her two fawns roaming the backyard.

Very clean; well appointed kitchen, lots of towels and linens. Great neighborhood; quiet, nice for walking, minutes from stores and highways. Rooms are spacious with TVs, closets with hangers and comfortable beds.
We would certainly stay here again!

Lovely home in a beautiful lush setting with wandering deer and plenty of room inside for everyone to spread out a bit. The first floor bedroom and bath allowed our oldest family member to avoid the stairs! The other bedrooms and baths upstairs were spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked with all the little things you just need a pinch or splash of for cooking a meal. Keeping this home on our list for future stays in the Portland area!

We loved our experience at this beautiful, spacious, quiet house in Portland. We were nine adults here for a family wedding and found this house to be perfect for our weekend stay!

We had an absolute blast, the house feels VERY private, huge trees surrounding all sides, as someone from Texas, it's always amazing to see how big the trees are here, 10/10 would stay again, the host literally responds instantly, and will help with all needs!!

We had a great time staying in this beautiful home. We had a group of 10 adults all family, the five bedrooms worked very well for us. The home is only about 10 to 15 minutes away from almost everything you would want to do in Portland, situated near main highways that made if easy to move around. There were many of the essentials that you need in a home which is always a great thing when you are doing a Vrbo. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.

The property is awesome. I love everything about it. The owner is incredibly nice and helpful. I hope to stay there again:)
One small note for Margaret is that the info on the VRBO website states Check out before 11AM. It would be helpful to fix that if you want the guests to check out before 10AM. I did see the 10AM time in the book of instructions you have for guests, but decided to go with the time that I contracted for on the VRBO rules & policies.

This property was everything the listing stated. Plenty of room for family members . Located in a quite relaxing neighborhood. Easy drive to airport. Well stock kitchen and early morning wildlife for us to watch while enjoying our coffee outside at the patio table. Margaret was an amazing host. Our stay was the beginning of a beautiful wedding week for our daughter. II can’t wait to go back to Portland and stay at this home again. Thank you Margaret.

Excellent family reunion!
This house was amazing for size, comfort, accessibility to Portland, and was loaded with all the necessities to make for a wonderful family time! This property was in a quiet location with a large yard and outdoor sitting area which we used a lot! The huge kitchen area, layout of the house, and overall roominess made our stay quite enjoyable.

A little work on front door lock-was very hard to get into by multiple people.
5 women getting ready for wedding activities, more mirrors would be helpful.

Beautiful, quiet property!
We were so happy to stay here. The property is nestled on the quiet side of the neighborhood and is a lovely area for early morning walks. The house was clean and spacious. We loved being able to hang around and have room to move about. One of the bedrooms has a few sleeping beds, perfect for the girls who want to stay up late and chat or to throw all the kids in there and let them play games. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
ONE NOTE: I think the neighbor to the North likes it to be very quiet. We were outside drinking wine Friday afternoon and we may have been laughing a bit too loud. The neighbor peered over his fence so we took it as a sign to tone it down. We still had a good laugh over it, though. lol.

Great spot.
Lovely, well-stocked house in a great West side location. Very easy check-in and responsive hosts. Kids appreciated the toys, puzzles, and books. Adults appreciated the large cook’s kitchen and bucolic setting (loved seeing deer in the mornings). We’ll definitely be back.

Seven of us stayed at this property for 5 nights. The house is in a good location to explore the Oregon coast, the Willamette Valley vineyards and the city.We cooked 2 dinners at the house. The kitchen was well equipped with enough plates, wine glasses, cooking tools, etc.The beds were comfortable and the neighborhood was quiet.Even though there were enough beds to sleep more people, seven may be the maximum guests because there are only 2 bathrooms. On 2 different mornings, we had deer visit the property.

Good
This was a good home base for our group of 10 (6 adults, 4 kids) to explore Portland. The downstairs space is well laid out with a large kitchen. While there isn't much in walking distance, we were just a 10 minute drive from Washington Park and it was easy to access many other parts of the city.

Beautiful setting so close to town!
It's quite a feat to pull off Thanksgiving in a stranger's kitchen for 10 people and have it all go perfectly. The living room fireplace, the comfy beds, the light rail about a mile away and the deer visiting in the morning - this was truly a fantastic house to share the holidays. Margaret is a responsive and thoughtful host. We would not hesitate to come back. And if you love walking, the trails and roads around the house are wonderful with lots of hills.

Perfect for a group
Great house if you want a place for group. Super comfortable and set in a beautiful setting. If there was one thing I would change it is a bathroom downstairs.

Absolute Gem of a location.
House accommodated all 8 of us comfortably. It’s very clean and functional. In a nice neighborhood that was pretty easy to uber or MAX line downtown or any direction. I’d stay again on any future visit.

Great place to stay in Portland.
We had a wedding in Portland and this house was conveniently located near downtown where all the activities happened. We had 4 couples stay in this house and it was very comfortable. We have used VRBO for many rentals and this one was one of the best we ever had.

Great wedding party HQ!
We had 8 adults and a toddler here as our main HQ for my wedding at the Hoyt Arboretum (Washington Park). My wife and I visit Portland often and usually stay off of NW 23rd and walk everywhere, so having to drive into town was a bit of a change of pace, but the house was a perfect size for our wedding party and there was plenty of room for the girls' getting-ready. The house was a convenient drive to the Washington Park area, and only about 15 minutes to get into our usual stomping-grounds around NW 23rd. If you're renting a car, this is a great place and there's groceries and restaurants within short driving distance. Very nice quiet neighborhood also! The house was in great condition and we didn't have any issues during our stay.

Great Stay, Awesome Location
Short Uber to the all the great downtown Portland locations. House was spacious and comfortable for my friend's and I. Most of all Margaret was awesome! Would definitely re-book

Great House!
House is in a quiet neighborhood, barely heard a peep from anyone our entire stay. The walk to the light rail station is only about 15 minutes. During the walk you do take a trail through some trees/wooded area that is uphill - we needed our cell phone as a flashlight when the sun went down. We also took Uber XL's to/from downtown that ended up being $30-$40 each. Great place to stay and would stay here again! Margaret is very responsive and easy to communicate with.
