The atmosphere, right next to the lake, the staff were amazing, food was incredible, organised transport to Adam’s Peak at 2am!

Nice little place with a great location close to Adam's peak. They serve nice dinner for a small price.
Small rooms with cold shower.

Good location for Adam's Peak hike. Room was good, comfortable.
Considering how humid and wet it can get in the area, the rooms would benefit from better aeration, it was very damp. The kitchen area was quite messy and carried quite a heavy smell. It felt very cold there for a homestay, we didn't even know who was the owner for a while, compared to the other homestays we had in Sri Lanka, we liked this one the least. Place was convenient, but don't go there if you seek human interactions with locals.

Buena ubicación para subir a Adam’s Peak. Tenian agua caliente. La habitación era adecuada. El lugar es bonito, el entorno espectacular.
Hacía un poco de frío en la habitación.

I loved being at Narra Homestay. It is a wonderful family that will help you in anyway they can. As a solo traveler, I always felt taken care of. On my first night, I arrived SUPER late and coincidentally Narra was arriving from Colombo to Hatton around the same time… he kindly gave me a lift to his homestay on his bike. It was very lucky for me but extremely kind of him. He organized a tuk tuk for me to climb Sir Pada, which is a few kms away. Later, the caretaker of the place took me through the village to the water. Oh, the food is absolutely YUMMY… finger licking food. The location is amazing… I would recommend going grabbing tea at a kade a few meters left of the Homestay… it is literally the best vibe!!!

The food was delicious and very affordable. You need to give the caretaker at least 2 hours notice to prepare meals. The price for this homestay is excellent, but you get what you pay for.
Thankfully there were mosquito nets on the beds, but there were many mosquitos in the bedrooms. The location is also a bit far from the main town so it’s a bit isolated. The pillows are not comfortable and feel like you’re sleeping on nothing even with 2 stacked together. The bathroom is small and designed in such a way that the whole floor and toilet get soaked with water when you shower.

The hosts were incredibly kind. They even allowed to take care of our backs the day before we arrived for free. The hotel has a nice balcony and it’s close to the beautiful lake. The food had a great quality and they asked multiple times to refill the plates. They were also very flexible with the time to serve us breakfast according to our plans. Thank you very much!

We booked before heading and when we reached the place they inform us that there aren't any rooms. The person who was looking after the property is not friendly either. He informed the unavailability of rooms without any apologies. We got off the bus at Maussakele Junction solely because of the guest house. Otherwise, we would go directly to Maskeliya and find a place. Yet, finally, it was a total waste of time.
So we had to go to the Pine Trees Homestay instead, which is very closer to Narra Homestay (nearly 100 m away). Pine Trees Homestay is tremendous. Unlike Narra Homestay, It has a large balcony for you to relax with such a vibrant view and a calming atmosphere. You will be amazed and it is worth every rupee you pay!

Really amazing hidden gem, lovely guy running it, amazing food and a very comfy bed too!
in a bit of an awkward place but there’s busses you just have to be patient, more than worth the money!

The garden is beautiful and it's a cheap accommodation.
The bed is really small for 2 people. The room as well. No sheets to cover yourself while sleeping, so you use a cover that has been used by loads of people before. The person working there barely speaks english (well, to tell the truth barely speaks when you ask him something).

This stay was a really pleasant discovery. The price was more than reasonable. Room was spacious and very clean. Room have directly excess to private garden terrace which is amazing. Just few minutes ride with tuk-tuk from city centar or 15 minutes walk. Owner is very pleasant, warm hearted and helpful. Rate is 11/10 !!

Narra homestay is really nicely situated 6 km from Adams Peak. Staff tried very hard to make ys welcome.
no towels and instead of bedsheet there was a small blanket ( to small for 2 people) so we were very cold at night
We were isolated from local staff for a break what in my opinion was very odd and made me feel uncomfortable.

Stayed here before and after hike to Adam's Peak. If you are coming from Hatton by bus - just tell to driver a name of homestay and they'll drop you next to gate. There is some distance from the homestay to start of trail, so you'd need either bus/tuk-tuk/walk. It took like 5-7 minutes to get to main entrance at night time by tuk tuk.
Single room is located inside of main accomodation, it was clean and tidy, there is a window, but no view. Double rooms have a separate entrance and some of them have a nice view to a garden which is a small tea plantation actually!
There are local cafes around to have some food, also menu is available in the homestay. Menu is good, also I'd recommend to visit a local cafe which is 200-300m going towards to the Peak direction, it is a small place which managed by very lovely family. We came there around 9pm which was almost a time to close, but they gave us a good selection of local food.
And special thanks to Ramanathan who cooked us a dinner when we arrived late from a waterfall and everything already was closed. He is always around and happy to help.

Good environment, good foods, good owner. The owner had helped me quite hard to arrange my visit to Laxapana Fall and Gardmore Fall.
The room is little bit small and not really clean. And the caretaker of this place is not very good in English but helpful when needed.

I only spent one night here but it was a lovely place. The room was very clean, the staff was courteous and easy to communicate with and the dinner I ordered here was absolutely delicious and the portion was huge! The wifi was really good and there was also a desk in the room so this place is definitely suitable for some digital nomading, too. Just note that Narra is not exactly close to Adam's Peak. It's about 5 km from the beginning of the trek (however the hotel owner can arrange a tuktuk that will drop you at the start of the trek). I prefer walking so I walked those additional 5 kilometres and I really enjoyed the scenery but it's just something to keep in mind.
Maybe just a personal thing but I don't like when people keep live fish in aquariums. Fish belong in the sea where they can swim freely, not in aquariums.

nice and quiet location. Has everything you could need after an Adam’s Peak hike.
Difficult to get to by bus but a bus stop is outside the property. also need to get a 10min bus (or tuk tuk) to get to the peak.

It was a rainy week and full with misty mountains when I was reaching the Nallathanniya. I picked Narra Homestay because of the beautiful view I have seen in the Internet. When I just enter to the place, wow this place is way gorgeous than the pictures I have seen earlier the day. They welcomed me with a delicious hot cup of tea and it was heavenly delicious after a full day of riding my bike in the mountain trails.
I impressed with the cleanliness of the room and the bathroom. The hot water shower was the ultimate therapy to heal my long tired day of riding.
Meantime the team (Narra Family) was making the most delicious dinner for me. I did select the vegetarian menu. The dinner was exceptional. Nothing could be better than homemade rice and curry.
The owner was a nice guy. Friendly and always targeting to bring your experience to next level. He was explaining all the local attractions in the area and the route. What a great guy.
It was time to get a good sleep after a long day of riding. My room was faced in front the beautiful tea plantation. The sound of the small creek was my mind relaxing music during my sleep.
The morning was misty and the view was filled with lush and green.. How can I forget about the delicious homemade string hoppers I had for the breakfast.
I never expected this beautiful breathtaking expensive just for a $7.
After sipping a hot cup of tea made by Narra Family I started my journey deep in to the mountains.

We felt at home. We played carrom with the hosts, they made us different Sri Lankan breakfasts every day so we got to try some new food. We also ate rice and curries twice there and it was soo good! There are lots of hiking areas to explore around besides Adam's peak so do not hesitate to stay more than one day
