Pretty boutique style pub stay

Great location , pretty room, VERY friendly staff and good food

For me the pillows weren’t the most comfortable , and we didn’t realise they hadn’t left fresh milk in our room until it wasn’t convenient to go own to ask for some! Also feel room price was a little top end.

Excellent value for money

Perfect location, friendly staff and excellent food. Room was well equipped and even some homemade biscuits left for us to eat. Little tea and coffee station in room too with stocked mini bar. There was even a little pillow spray to use. Honestly so much attention to detail it was lovely.

characterful building, idyllic setting, friendly staff, definitely not basic, is quite luxurious.

staff were great. check in process was great. had parking, the room was well stocked with what we needed and all very quaint and personable. exactly what you want coming down to dorset. very near beautiful sights of dorset such as durdle door and lulworth cove meaning we could get to places early before they overcrowded. breakfast was AMAZING. room was quiet and bed was very comfy. would stay here again in a heartbeat. building had lots of character.

Overall well worth a short stay.

Loved the quirkiness of the Castle Inn. Location ideal for walking and exploring. Food was good, although probably could be varied more. (The day before “specials” were offered the next night if not sold previously, but exactly the same meal option, no variation… ) All in all a great place to stay and unwind and explore the beautiful surroundings….. Staff friendly and helpful…..

The bed …. Uncomfortable pillows and mattress Also , although we are animal lovers, and are aware this is a dog friendly place, there were just too many dogs, especially at meal times, and often one had to step over/round large dogs to get to a table … maybe would be good to have certain areas made dog free ……

Cosy thatched pub with lovely rooms

Very cosy room, with nice decor. Little extra touches like the bottle of fresh milk for the tea/coffee in room, and home made choc cookies. Excellent shower! The food was excellent, especially the breakfast, with lots of delicious choices Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Blind in bedroom was broken, and coffee plunger still had coffee in it from previous guests!

Great location and Food

The Castle Inn is in a great location, within walking distance of Lulworth Cove. A lovely building full of character. We had two excellent meals. Staff were very friendly. Our room was quirky. A bit small but only to be expected with this old property. Very comfortable bed. Overall we loved our stay.

Perfect for a weekend getaway to the beach!

Gorgeous rooms, delicious food, and friendly staff. Plus a great location. There were treats and doggy shampoo in the room for us. Would definitely recommend for a short break.

Impromptu stay!

Booked last minute and got the last room! The car park is situated just across the road (very quiet village) and has cameras, as you enter the bar area you enter your registration number on the computer 👍 Had evening meal for the 2 of us it was great with a perfectly cooked steak and triple cooked chips 😋😋 The bedrooms are well equipped with iron, ironing board, hair dryer, dyson fan and mini bar 👍 Breakfast was excellent and a good start to the day 👍👍 will return!

Lovely staff, great food, beautiful rooms, stunning property.

The property is beautiful with so much character. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. The rooms are very clean with lovely en suites. The food is amazing.

We’ve stayed here twice the only thing we don’t like are the beds. We find them very firm which we don’t like but, if you like firm, you’ll love them.

Great stop off on the South West Coast Path.

The rooms we were in were very insulated from the noise of the pub and we were not disturbed. Nice breakfast and a great meal the night before. The restaurant staff were welcoming and very helpful.

The bed was a little firm.

Lovely short break, will deifnitely return.

Rooms very clean with quirky decor. Very homely. Great selection of ales and ciders!

Staff were struggling with workload but coping well with friendly demeanour! Cost a bit above what I'd normally pay but considering time of year, it was a fair price for the location.

Felt like a dream!

This was a dream stay! Gorgeous property, delicious breakfast, lovely staff, beautiful room decor, and—best of all—only a ten-minute walk from Lulworth Cove and the coastal path to Durdle Door. I’ll definitely be back!

An unfortunate event!

The hotel looked beautiful but unfortunately the room (no 5) was too small.

The room (no 5) was too small, too hot with a broken window and mould or dirt around the window. no alternative room was offered as they were full so we left . most disappointing😞

The Castle Inn was very welcoming. It’s a lovely old building with a modern feel. The rooms are nicely decorated and have a warm, cosy feel to them. The bathrooms are very nice and modern.

It wasn’t a dislike at all but a shelf in the bathroom would have been useful.

Lovely cosy room, great food, pleasant staff and great location!

The food was amazing! Would recommend anyone to eat there as well as stay! The room was small but cosy and very well equipped with everything we needed! The staff were friendly and a pleasure to meet!

We were told on arrival that there was a staff training session on during the evening so we couldn’t eat later than 18:30 despite being told on the phone a few days before we could eat later. Wasn’t too much of an issue but a heads up would of been good.

Exceptional

The room was lovely and clean, comfortable and private. The food was delicious, we had both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and couldn't have been more pleased to do so. Its a lovely walk down to the Cove. Generally overall just a lovely place to go to treat yourself!

What a gem!

The beautiful location, ease of parking, the staff, the bar, the food .... cannot fault anything. We were greeted with warmth and effortless hospitality which continued through every aspect of our stay

Absolutely nothing negative to report, just be aware there are no other bars/pubs within walking distance, but, to be fair, once you're in the bar/restaurant here you won't want to leave!
